I was a radio dj, prod. mgr,news director when this was produced and I actually helped promote it before it's release. I still have the fax paperwork from the antiquated fax machines of the early 90's.
this was the dumbest movie ever it toatally goes aginst the worrd of GOD and Jesuses name was not jesse i dont recomend this for nobody and this is not how it would be if Jesus came back now
i saw this movie once and i really enjoyed it. very unique perspective on what it'd be like if Jesus had come in our day and time instead of 2000 years ago. I'd love to see a big budget remake of this.

How did John O'Banion die? This was a great movie. I had a beauty shop where we played a traditional type Easter movie and the customers ignored it. We played this one and all from the waiting room gathered around the TV, crowding one another to watch it. They got the message and some didn't even realize it. When in the movie John O'Banion as Jesus hung on the cross, they wanted everyone to see what Jesus was seeing as he hung there. Powerful indeed!
Sometime in the 90s John was in a really bad car accident and it caused some problems with his body and cause his death some years later, very sad. Try Google it might give more details. I want to meet him in heaven and tell John he did a great job with this part.
The poster for this film shows Jesus facing off against Apache helicopters. Because it was set in modern times, I thought it was a cloned Jesus or something. This film is so-bad-it's-good. If you rent it, look for Judas' van's license plate: 6MONEY66.

Really wasn't what I expected. It's an ok movie. It could've been done better, for example put all twevele diciples in the movies, heal sick people at a nearby church, Feed a lot more people then in this movie, & have Matthrew invite him to his house for all his drunken, druggie, fornicating friends to listen to Jesus when preaching the Gospel & letting sinners know there's hope for them.
