  • i love kurt so much hes my idol and at the end were her said about the parents divorse my parents divorsed 3 years ago when i was like 10 and kurt/nirvana got me trough it and music in all did ...RIP kurt

  • I wish he had just stayed alive to hear some more bands and artists like Oasis, because I think he probably would have got along with someone like Noel Gallagher because they are both similar in songwriting, even Dave said that they probably would have. Just an opinion at the end of the day. Wish he lived longer. But he is definitely right about rock and roll and it's future.

  • he predicted raves and dubstep. straight up

  • "I think it'll be sounds and tones and music in their virtual reality machines".

He even predicted that shit dubstep and techno was going to take over the

scene of decent rock music. Shit.

  • fuck Courtney at the end...

  • i really miss him.

  • This is a taped interview that was written out into a book by Micheal Azerrad. He did the interview and wrote the book, of course. Honestly, when I got to the part where he predicted rock in 20 years, I was really shocked at how accurate he is. Even about the 'virtual reality' machines. The internet wasn't even invented yet, and he knew what would happen. I've always noticed how monotonous and re-hashed rock has gotten. No one adds original, unique twists anymore, it's just verse-chorus-verse..

  • @scartissue94 exactly. and it always sucks. the lyrics are like a broken record just repetitive and lifeless

  • That was deep thanks for the upload ghopher

  • "would you come up stairs?" kurt was thinking "fuck, not again :( "

  • this interview sounds liek its in an alternate reality where he beat the addiction and didnt die in 1994

  • He called the virtual reality thing, what a fucking genius. How many people play call of duty for hours on end? Yeah.

  • grungegopher idk if you put that really serene music in the background, but it's making it really easy to just chill on my couch, close my eyes, and listen to Kurt talk

  • kurt cobain looks like les stroud the survivorman

  • 2:42 - 3:06 . Kurt is right

  • Comment removed

  • i'm so gutted that he died before i was even born.

  • "Kurt....Kurt... Can you come up stairs? SO I CAN PUSH YOU DOWN THEM?!"

  • He pretty much nailed everything on the head...

  • Kurt cobain is my muse, my purpose. Forever in love with The spirit of rock and roll.

  • Kurt was talking about the emptiness of the universe. He couldn't stretch far enough. Kurt realized that humanity is a product. Go back to work.

  • loads of you guys are complaining, fucking do something about the things you hate

  • @dudkun Finally someone has it right.

  • @lolz097 learn to spell

  • @OneNationUnderPrimus

Not everyone is english my friend.

  • talk to each other in a civil way......

  • i hope something happens, we are all high on technology we need to get back to 3 or 4 people just jamming on real instruments till the world can't take the awesomeness anymore

  • lol "just a little kid.......throwing rocks at cops."

I think he wished he had been more, for lack of a better word, "innocent."

  • i think kurt wasnt happy bcuz he was trying to write music for everyone(music everyone could relate too) and they turned him into product. and i think he realized he had become what he hated. what he was so anti too. the band stats numerous times all they were trying to do is write a good album. they didnt care about awards and money. and kurt prob was upset with himself. idk just an opinion

  • My generation disgust me and the environment that I live in too.... There's no rock n' roll here, it's such a passive place and it's really hard to find my place here... I wish I grew up on the 80's or 90's on Settle... Then I would be totally happy...but no. Anyway I have to be thankful of being were I am because it could've been worst...

  • computers, i phones, all this crap are all virtual realty machines

  • Kurt had a sick goatee

  • @kungiiii hahaha your the phony... you dont get more real and honest than this guy whether your talking about famous people or average people. and as far as full of himself... a depressed person being full of themselves isn't even possible

  • this guy is so fucking smart. he knew that rock n roll was diminishing and here we are basically 20 years later and look what the music industry has become.....

  • Amazing.

  • I love you Kurt !

  • ''20 years from now'' oh Kurt we're almost there. Music is slowly dying and there's nothing I can do about it. It makes me fucking angry. if it continues like this i am seriously thinking about killing myself, too. kurt was so wise. i am crying so fucking hard right now. especially because he is dead. i never felt so close to a dead person

  • Kurt Cobain could tell the future... Rock is on fuckin life support right now!

  • Hes so right about the state of rock nroll

  • By the looks of it Kurts dream was to teach and help his generation, for me it's working, R.I.P

  • @grungegopher Isn't this from "About a Son"?

  • To be honest I wanna blow my head up sometimes since I have similar stomach problem to Kurt. I can really relate to Kurt and it just makes me sad because the one man I could really relate to has died, and it makes me feel like shit, I can't talk to anyone because they'll end up judging me or they dont understand the circumstances and just cant relate to it. and the music in the background didnt help either, kind of depressing -___-

  • @naru725 he had ulcers vary pain full if gone on treated

  • @smokythebear123 really ouch, I might want to get my stomach checked out, its been bugging me alot more these last couple of years. worst torture ever, I would never wish this kind of pain on anyone.

  • And yet we all sit here at our virtual reality machines.

  • This man was so real that it's mindboggling. I wish he could see that we dont really even have MTV now. That station only shows two mooks fucking in a hot tub 24/7. I wish more people had his attitude about life.

  • This man was so real that it's mindboggling. I wish he could see that we dont really even have MTV now. That station only shows two mooks fucking in a hot tub 24/7. I wish more people had his attitude about life.

  • HE FUCKING CALLED IT 20 YEARS FROM THEN IS NOW NOW ROCK IS IN A VERY SAD STATE. ALMOST NON EXISTING I HOPE THE WORLD DOES EXPLODE I CAN'T TAKE THIS FUCKING PLACE ANYMORE!!!

  • @mmtna that what we call 2012

  • @mmtna 2012 man, you just got 11 months left

  • "its sad to think what the state of rock and roll will be in 20 years from now. it just seems like when rock and roll is dead....the whole world is gonna explode" ~ Kurt

    xD damn pot head.

  • I know that is too much to ask but....could someone please write down what Kurt said about death?? Unfortunately I'm Italian and I haven't caught anything he said...! Thank you...

  • He was right about imagining rocks future. Its truly dying :(

  • Dude....he just nailed Rock music straight on the head.

  • @droge085 Listen to the White Stripes and tell me rock is dead.

  • @IggyTthunders But the White Stripes split up last year. :( As a popular genre, rock is dead. Teenagers almost exclusively listen to rap and teeny pop now. And the charts are dominated by pure garbage.

  • @grungegopher art never dies.

  • @IggyTthunders All the good rock bands in the mainstream have been going for well over a decade. There's no new blood really. And I'm not a White Stripes fan by any means.

  • I am a teenager, and Music is really, really important to me.

  • what the hell happened to the real music? when people worked hard and didn't went reality shows to get famous. and his right... nobody really cares about Rock'nrol! that's sad!!

  • wow.. he couldnt be anymore right about rock being what it will be in 20 years

  • is the background music a song by the led zeppelin

  • bitch cut ma interview short.

  • kurt is so right when he talks about music being just a tool for kids to fuck and have a social life, this is music in 1993 if kurt saw how emotionless and commercialised music has become now ...

  • watched this the other day

  • The world suffered a great loss when Kurt Cobain died.

  • rock n roll is dead and the world is going to explode 2012 kurt called it JK!

  • wow, he was right about alot of things.

rock n roll is dead. we are addicted to technology like junkies

  • @TheShyPieGuy damn he called it right

  • This is amazing, Kurt was right about a lot of the things he said.... It really is an amazing interview! Kurt really was and will always be incredible!

  • 4.50 thats the illuminati 9/11 shirt people talk about. LOL people are stupid

  • kurt was a smart man! i could listen to a nirvana interview for an hour if i was bored

  • he was right.

  • dude kurt is a phycic he is predicting how life is going to become

  • @Element4078 I believe you meant psychic. Where the fuck did you get phycic?

  • Ya know, this just pisses me off, cause if he had someone that would have cared and listened to him, he maybe would still be with us today. It's a damn shame

  • he called that 20 year thing. id say rock is already fucked but ill give him the 3 extra years just so its even mega worse. goddamit he called that shit lol

  • Well Kurt, it looks like your predictions have become true and suicide doesn't sound so bad. Like I'm gunna fucking OD on Facebook.

  • well i'd hate to be "that guy" but honestly there is a huge possibility that kurt was murdered. I mean lets think about this logically. he spoke out against the government and the mainstream media and the corporations and he had an entire generation of youth behind him. if he had ever learned of the true tyranny which we are facing (as someone would surely inform him of sooner or later) then that would cause HUGE problems for the government. and who investigated? the govt. same with 2pac/biggie

  • this interview made me think seriously... i dont believe kurt was a depressive person its just the was MTV and media put him across. Just very wise i think. Im 15 and i can see that he is right about music being all robotic and fake... i just hope that me or someone atleast could bring back music. Not just Grunge or Rock just music, because musics important in my life and i cant watch Pop Music take the titlle of real music.

  • @MrFligoo dont worrry about the masses kid

listen to what make you feel good

  • @MrFligoo No dude. I'm sorry but you're wrong. There is tons of evidence to his depressive nature but more than that... I can tell in his music.

  • @MrFligoo So true dude I don't think he killed himself

the recoil of his shotgun would have made the shotgun fly across the room

  • @michael23punkrock im not saying i dont believed he killed himself. i dont have the evidence to say he hasnt yet i dont have the evidence to say he did. its a mystery and will remain one. have opinions.

  • @MrFligoo Our day will come. I Think its up to us to bring back quality, sincere, honest and seminal music. it can sound like whatever as long as the music is real and powerful and open to all. "Breach Your Borders and Let Your Gates Faint".

  • @MrFligoo trust me pal, if you keep dwelling on this subject the only person that's going to suffer is you. I wish that real music would take over too but there's just nothing you or me can do about it right now. all I can do is just relax and just live in the music. I suggest you do the same.

  • @kermicheo yeh of course. its cool if someone wants to do something new though right. i stopped dwelling on this subject 6 months ago. the video just made me think thats all. since then all ive done is responded to people responses. i dont see the trouble in trying to make real music... i dont give a shit if it hits big time. just sick of repeating the past over and over.

  • @MrFligoo honestly for me, if music takes my soul for a ride it makes me happy and thats the only thing that matters. Don't care if it's past present or from mars or a repeat I just look for other past bands.

  • @kermicheo fair play, isnt the point of music to make you feel happy or sad or whatever emotion? but im sure can see were im coming from... theres nothing like real music in the mainstream. which to be honest im kinda happy about. it just would be nice to hear a different sound coming from any new bands... underground or not :)

  • @MrFligoo well said man, that was awesomely sincere

  • @codeine7 thanks :)

  • rock is dieing

  • @rockman1066 You're wrong about this. It died already.

  • @dannyexistance23 well fuck it man lets bring rock back somehow someway

  • @rockman1066 I'm so down you don't even know. I've been thinking about this all day. I want to get a band and bring back rock. What state do you live in? I'm over here in california.

  • @dannyexistance23 i am in california to man bakersfield like 2 hours from LA i play guitar and bass

  • @rockman1066 You do? Dude I live in Victorville, its like 2 hours away from LA too. Its 2 hours away from Barstow on the way to Las Vegas. We should have a sesh man! I play guitar&acoustic, and sing.

  • @dannyexistance23 we are like a 3-4 hour drive from each other now all we need is a drummer and bass player. if you write any music send me that shit so i can play it on my guitar

  • @rockman1066 Well lets have a sesh first man. Then if we're good enough we can get a drummer. You don't want to play bass? Or do you want to switch it around for every song? Like you'll drum in one song, then play bass, then guitar? Because I can only sing and play guitar.

  • @dannyexistance23 well i was hoping you play rhythm and sing while i play lead or whatever you want to do i don't care as long as we get things done

  • @rockman1066 Well I don't want to get into an argument for who plays what if we do become a band. Well how about like if we play a song thats already made like Lithium. Then we'll see who's better and can get it down better and they play role. Or if someone writes a song they get to choose? I don't know man because I've only been playing for a year, so you're probably going to end up playing lead anyways. :)

  • @dannyexistance23 my lil bro can play lithium i need to learn that. i can play a bunch of nirvana songs like breed, smells like teen spirit, aneurysm, mexican seafood, about a girl, in bloom, stay away, drain you, and all apologies... i think thats all the songs i can play by nirvana

  • @rockman1066 You're pretty good man! I'll learn more Nirvana songs so we have a lot of songs to jam too!

I'm learning my first Nirvana song, Come As You Are. I play old school music and I heard Nirvana and it changed my entire point of view of Rock. I

  • @dannyexistance23 well i dont just play nirvana i think the hardest song i can play is yyz by rush good song umm.. how old are u? im 16

  • @rockman1066 Yeah man thats cool. And thats not the only band I play either.

I'm about to turn 16 man.

  • @dannyexistance23 alright what are your favorite bands?

  • @rockman1066 The old stuff man. Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Lynard Skynard, Bob Marley, The Wonders, The Clash, The Beatles, etc. What about you?

  • @dannyexistance23 #1 the beatles umm... elvis buddy holly ritchie valens chuck berry yardbirds who doors zepplin skynard eagles the police nirvana and many many more i am currenty working on i know a little by lynard skynard

  • he was murdered!

  • God... I would have gotten along with this guy... I especially agree with the "it's nearly impossible to get along with the people" part. BINGO! And how stupid that is... People are so focused on being cool instead of being themselves... That makes socializing so difficult...

  • he kinda looks like les stroud

  • @ramsantosjr

Kurt Cobain doesn't look like Les Stroud.

Les Stroud looks like Kurt Cobain.

  • He was right.

Rock n' roll is dead right now.

Except for those break-out bands that keep it alive.

  • @natacouture yeah theres just a handfull of goodbands keeping it alive, i'd be really excited if there was like a revival movement and like there was just massive amounts of good, meaningful music out there instead of this obscure, stuff, i'm constintly having to wade through all the bullshit to find good tunes

  • @headbanger327 thats the problem people are going to go after what is cool like bob marley was famous but now he is extremely famous with the young people like wtf

  • wow...Kurt is God. He predicted how the future of music was going to be. Sorry to see you go before my time, Kurt. From one singer to another and from one lefty to another, I love you :)

  • Deep ..... song suites it, what is the song?

  • Thanks for opening my eyes Kurt

  • wow. dude prophesied the future lol. but i guess it was only a matter of time

  • Everyone loves Kurt for his music, but for the love of god, what a whiny fucking bastard he was. Whinging about music, whinging about the world, whinging about his life, whinging about America - but everyone just fell in love with him. But seriously, did he ever stop complaining about shit?

  • @ktrel54: Sounds like you're whining.

  • @judyleasugar97

    Fine, you win.

  • @ktrel54: I won't "win" as you call it until the investigation into Kurt's death is reopened.

  • @ktrel54 Yeah, learn how to spell before you criticize an icon. Idiot.

  • If he didnt go, Nirvana would be one of the bestest bands in the world.

  • Do you know what kurt/courtney said at the end?

  • @Kurt101Cobain

    "Kurt?"

    "Yeah?"

    "Could you come upstairs?"

  • @splintercellfan2007 and that's when she blew his brains in with a gun. Fucking cunt, courtney.

  • @ShaughnPatricia Well I don't believe Courtney did it. I believe Kurt killed himself.

  • @splintercellfan2007: justiceforkurt(dot)com, cobaincase(dot)com.

  • @judyleasugar97 As if I hadn't heard of those sites. Look, I read Kurt Cobain by Christoper Sanford and it said that Courtney was in Beverly Hills with Francis at the time. Besides, I think the only one who really knows the truth, would be Krist and Dave.

  • @splintercellfan2007: There are 2 witnesses Courtney tried to hire a hit man to kill Kurt. Krist and Dave weren't around Kurt very much in '94, how would they know? You need to get better informed. Have you actually looked at the websites I suggested?

  • @judyleasugar97 Yeah, I have. I dunno know, though. I mean as Kurt said right here, he's always thought about dieing.

  • @splintercellfan2007 Even if Kurt was the most suicidal person who ever lived, he still deserved for the Seattle PD to do a thorough investigation into his death. Because the circumstances were fishy, and he was about to divorce Courtney who would've gotten nothing from him in a divorce because they had a pre-nup, but became a multi-millionaire and got all rights to his music after his death.

  • @grungegopher But Kurt and Dylan Carson bought the gun?

  • @splintercellfan2007 Dylan Carlson bought the gun for Kurt because Kurt said he was affraid of prowlers. Dylan said Kurt didn't seem suicidal at all.

  • @grungegopher Weren't there any past suicides in the Cobain family, though? I know it's an off-topic question, or it's got nothing to do with Kurt's death.

  • @splintercellfan2007: The bottom line is it doesn't matter if Kurt was suicidal. There is no way he could have picked up the gun with a 3 times lethal dose of heroin in his system, end of story.

  • @splintercellfan2007 Yeah an uncle of his killed himself, but that's not an indicator of anything. My grandma on my dad's side of the family hung herself in 1965 and nobody else in our family has ever done it.

  • @grungegopher Yeah There as Been Two Or 3 Deaths In His Family! One Of His Uncles Shot Himslef In The hEad! And The Other Uncle Cut Open His Stomach And Got Sent To A Psychiatric Facility And Then He Ripped Open His Wounds And Tore Out His Guts! And I Think Kurt found One Of His Friends Hanging From A Tree One Time! But Im Not That Sure! I Just Got That Book "Heavier Than Heaven" So I think Im Right But Im Not Sure!:)

  • He really hit the nail in the head there. Kurt Cobain is my hero and was such an amazing person, only if he was still alive, then maybe music would be so much better nowadays. I listen to Nirvana, and then i will hear a song on the radio and i think what has music come to? RIP Kurt

  • he wasn't just the leader of Nirvana. He was a visionary and such an amazing person. i listen to these interviews and they make me cry. this guy is my hero and i wish he could be here now. he's the only person who will understand.

  • @AdrianNewAgain Imagine if he was still alive and saw what things were like today! He's lucky to be dead at this point. Seeing anything related to Nirvana kills me inside knowning he's not with us anymore, but the only thing in this world that could ever make him happy now is Bean.

  • Fuck music today. Its over. I wish it wasnt...

  • exactly Kurt

  • i play, and write music for fun, with two friends of mine.

and when i write lyrics, it's a "going-through the motions" type of thing.

but hearing kurt, just made me throw all my crap away. to start again.

    Kurt, r.i.p. my guitar hero.

  • Kurt was a man of vision, he saw the connections and knew how our country would fuck music up. Seriously, the closest i can get to great music today, are those from other countries, and the smart bands that went Independent in the industry, and even that isn't filling the void. Kurt, even if you killed yourself, you had the right reasons too, I only wished that you hanged in there a bit longer. Weather in heaven or hell, you will be missed.

  • This is august 1993? Cross is the one interviews him?

  • @marcoskurdt No, this is from early 1993 by Michael Azerrad who wrote the only reliable Nirvana biography titled "Come As You Are".

Charles Cross never talked to Kurt; He was sanctioned by Courtney Love to write Kurt's bio many years after his death.

  • @grungegopher And Cross also thinks he knew kurt :/

  • even if Kurt were alive today he would either have left the music scene a long time ago or he would just be what Eddie Vedder is now. Also, Nirvana wouldn't be as legendary. People need to realize that Kurt got really famous after he died. Look at the rock music charts at the time of his death. Pearl Jam was the hottest band followed by Alice in Chains at that time. If only people would do a little research and reading.

  • @Muse4life05 I totally agree with you. Jimi Hendrix once said that once you're dead, you're made for life, and that is what happened with Kurt Cobain. If he were still alive, he would be in Eddie Vedder's position. Though Pearl Jam is still selling records, a lot of people are rolling their eyes and wishing that would just give it up. It is sad to say, but Kurt would be a dried up has-been if he were still around. That's to say if he had not died from suicide or an overdose later on in life.

  • @shellecat89: Perhaps that was why he was planning to quit music.

  • 4:42??

  • Roxicodone

  • finding them dead on there couch from overdosing yea when he said that i got chills down my spine cuz thats how i found my friend 5 years ago :(

  • @johnkimble2007 what did he od on?

  • Spooky music. But man, was Kurt right about the state of Rock and music in general! In fact, his prediction came true far faster than he thought.

  • ....................hes so....broken

  • my god this man knew so much what the fuck "virtual reality machines" ipods and computers fuck nobody does care about music and us that do dont even have a social life it dosent incite a social life nowadays but makes you an outcast rock is gone but the spirit lives on in people and were pissed and desperate it is inevitable for music to rise again its inevitable

  • @pot4tots Everyone thinks that their generation is the most lame, boring, hopeless, etc. (that was the "theme" of generation X). The whole idea of a 'generation" was created by the media so that they could sell you shit and make you feel like you're a part of something. Once you hit 20, though, you realize that you're not really that special or part of a doomed generation. I agree that music sucks these days but that too is mostly the result of the media (the web being the biggest offender)

  • @ritter89 Yah i know what your saying your right but i mean shit its gotta be worse now like with the mdia and internet its hard to find any sense of feeling passion or reality out of music today atleast if i was a "generation X" i could atleast enjoy the music i like live

  • @pot4tots Yeah, media in general these days is terrible. I'm 34 and within my relatively short life, I've watched popular culture take a major turn for the worse. Just ten yrs ago reality TV barely existed, radio DJs were still fairly popular and music (although pretty bad and taking a turn for the worse) was still listenable. Now, I can't name a one popular radio DJ (do they even exist anymore?), most of the celebrities are "reality tv stars", and popular music is in the shitter

  • @ritter89 Its pretty bad but theres gotta be a bounce back right?

  • @pot4tots Hope so. However, if you look back at the history of popular culture, starting around the 50s, there really weren't any long periods of inactivity and stasis. A few yrs of very cheap bubblegum music and odd fads and then things would turn around again. I don't recall any lull that's lasted this long. I thought that the backstreet boys would cause a major musical backlash/shift but the exact opposite happened. I was certain reality TV would be over by '05 but it's still here

  • @ritter89 Yah thats true this cheap fake bullshit has lasted way too long in our culture well there should be a bounce back because there is alot of pissed off people with nothing to loose and everything to gain when it comes to this its a deadly combo something should happen within the next 10 yrs but we cant just sit on our asses waiting around we gotta be part of the change you know?

  • @pot4tots surely after such a long downwards spiral the comeback will be big right?
