@waryu69 It definitely looks HDR, but I just used a pre-set called "Paintballer Pro" which I created to give HDR look, without all the HDR work. Its available on my blog for purchase. Thanks
Hi, thanks for the advice, can i ask if you think i can get good results with the Sony HX1? I will be shooting landscape, water and wildlife scenes, thanks
Oh Michael this sounds so much fun. You have very playfull and fresh approach to the photography field. Now you make me regret the time that I passed up on your course offer which you were teaching in Canada last summer. If you're free let's chat on the phone this weekend :)
THANK YOU...best vid so far. I have watched them all in order too. This really REALLY helps and inspires us beginners to go out and experiment! I can't wait!
When you did the painting with lights II, how come it only captured the light from the flashlight and not you? I would have though it would have given a ghosting effect where there would have been a trail of yourself holding the flashlight.
same question too.. der should be ghostly images on him from that image but only the flashlight has the effect and not him.. though it does look cool. cant wait to try experiment some of it my own.. just reminds me of RHCP mtv that has dis effect in their videos. hehe
Great tips and advise! I bought your dvd and it was awesome for a beginner like me. One question. Do I have to make the "Yay" sound when done? =p Keep up the great work!
hey, in that picture where you are walking holding the flashlight making figures, how come you don't look blury since you are a moving object and the camera is on a slow shutter speed? please help.
he might of had the flash on, so when it flashed at the shutter was closing it got just him, and not the rest of him? i really dont know though, just a guess..
Thanks for the great videos. I was considering buying a neutral density filter so that I could take long exposure shots of the sea during sunsets or even daytime. Is this the right way to go about it?
If you could do a video on flash snooting, that would be fantastic.
I don't understand why you don't look blurry on the exercise 3 - painting with light II. When you were walking and pointing at the camera with your flashlight, i thought there was only 2 possible outcomes. 1 either you only see the flashlight trail or 2. the flashlight trail and a ghost like figure of your body. Could you please explain why you don't look blurry as you were moving during a long exposure?
As always, your videos are the best....I have not seen better tutorials from anyone else...Keep up your good work..Thanks for your time in sharing it with others
wow this painting with light trick where you brighten up the girl is awesome. that technique is new for me. gotta try that.
but i dont get how you managed exercise 3 with the lightstripe. i assume you walked from right to left with the flashlifght pointed at your camera. but how did your body not got blurry there? i mean your body was moving while exposuring. pls reply
Its in your menu system, one of the yellow tabs, Flash Settings, Select Second Curtain Flash. I have a great DVD on the XSi called Canon Rebel XSi Crash Course, you can order it from my blog if you like, its well worth the $35. Best wishes! - M

because your camera lets in to much light, it gets over exposed
