  • chcek out 12yr old girl Analyss Benally. she's real good on the court.

  • What are all these women doing out of the kitchen?

  • Good 'ol Rocky Top!! Whoo!!! ROCKY TOP TENNESEE!!!

  • Fuckin Bogus

  • woooooooooooooooooooow

  • this is such bullshit. only in tennessee. talk about a CLOCKWORK ORANGE.

  • Tennessee should be ashamed.

    that is criminal.

  • at the ultimate end (after the free throws, when the clock ref forgot to start the clock), the refs made the decision (rightly) that the game was over...but that was EXACTLY the call they SHOULD have made when the clock ref stopped the clock FOR NO REASON at 0.2 giving tenn the chance to make those free throws.

worse example of home cooking that I have EVER seen in sports.

apparently this is not the first time something like this has happened at Tennessee.

    criminal.

  • the longest .2 seconds history. Rutgers was had

  • Even if the game was concluded with .02 seconds left, there's no way they would have inbounded it in time and made a miracle 3.

  • maaaaannnnnnn im a tn fan but dat was wrong i couldnt shake none of dey hands if i was a player or on da coachin staff dey cheated twice on da clock and at da end when da refs left da court but da girl got fouled

  • that is fucking bullshit

  • i'm still pissed about this. and i'm not even a rutgers fan...

  • Im a volfan and admit you guys got screwed major but it has happend to us and we won the nc and thats what matters if that was the title game you would have a reason to still be crying

  • damn i remember when this game was on, i missed it but my friend saw it and the next day in school she was fliping out

    and now i see why

    that sucksss

    p.s GOOO RUTGERS

  • yall some haters think about what happened last year when tennessee beat rutgers u sayin dat game was robbed 2. no it wasnt so stop sayin it was robed or wateva even thou it might of been. tennessee still fye and dey won da championship against rutgers last year and this year rutgers fans where was rutgers in da championship..... ok den..... tennessee on deck

  • I heard a rumor (my sources say it's 100% true) that you are an arrogant prick who has never really watched a womans sport.

  • rutgers are amazing and tennesse is just tennesse go rutgers!!

  • Look at Carson Jump Shot omg datys wats up

  • when they change this one, they have to change the one back in 1972 with the U.S./Russia

  • nhh...haha...

  • the referees were being gay...they must've been tennessee grads bc there is no way annisickie got fouled, they were just trying to figure ou a way for tennessee to win

  • Rutgers was robbed...no ifs, ands, or buts

  • good god you think everyone in tennessee or the south for that matter is a fucking redneck..god grow the fuck up.

  • rutgers got screwed, this is seriously horrible

  • i think its a conspiracy honestly

  • If the clock doesn't stop, it runs out and then the foul occurs. Fouls w/o time left are not fouls. BTW, the clock never started with the RU inboudns, either. It's weeks later and there is still 0.2 sec left in the game. IDIOTS!

  • this is a win for rutgers...we know it and the vols know it

  • this is for "joeshab" & "stoptheblackagenda" i would like to see u meet up with just one of those GIRLS and they would kick ur ass!!!! rutgers got robbed...typical tenn style!

  • There was a foul at .2

Also, even if she had been fouled and clock had run out, it still would've been 2 on the line.

    I think.

  • BULLLLLLLL SHITTTTT

  • that was the biggest bull shit call ever! Those damn rednecks obviously did not want to have tennessee loose so they stoped the clock. ANd since this is a new jersey team nobody backs them up. Its horrible and i lost all my respect towards the tennessee lady basketball program and im sure many others did as well.

  • joeshab puts it into proper context:

    it's GIRLS basketball.

turn the page and move on, no big deal

  • This might matter if it wasn't women's basketball, but since it is, who cares?

  • a foul is a foul no matter if theres 4 aurters left or .2

  • ok so that was a lil foul but look at the clock they stopped it at .2 then tried to run the clock out. rutgers won that just face it tennessee good and so it rutgers but be fair dont cheat. with that move right there i bet tennessee wont win the championship because they cheated. u wont get rewarded for that.

  • There may have been contact, but the clock was stopped when the refs actually blew the whistle. Thats why this is such bs. The clock should have run out.

  • The lady balls shouldnt have won that that was so fucking cheap

  • Worst example of a game thrown by the home team clock manager in the history of sports. How the replay officials didn't see to it the game was over and Rutgers was the winner, is amazing. Was Don Imus the damn time keeper?

  • them refs ran out of there quick too

  • i was watching that game i wanted them to win since they never beat tennesse and then .002 came and it paussssssseeeeeddd she caught the ball @ .002 and managed to land jump and shoot and it still said .002 go figure

  • WOW! I did not realize how ridiculous that whole debacle was. First, the clock gets stopped inappropriately AND THEN the game is called over DESPITE THE FACT that the clock never stopped on the in bounds. Which ref bet on that game?

  • LSU 78, Tennessee 62

    Karma.

  • dat shyt wuz crazy tennessee even knows dat the win wuz supose 2 be in rutgers record instead of theirs.ok we know that their wuz technical problems but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know you culdn't possibly do all of dat in .2 seconds.

I'm a North Carolina fan but honestly who don't hate tennessee?

  • One of the referees on the floor must have inadvertently stopped the clock. And they were a crew from the Big East. Rutgers got screwed by its own conference's refs.

I can't tell if the first contact with Anosike was made before time would have expired in the absence of the error. It froze right as she got the ball and she was hit on the shoulder almost immediately. Time was clearly over by the time she shot. Horrible way for a game to end.

  • OH, and I've already agreed with you that the Rutgers player shouldn't be pulling down the shooter in that situation. That was just stupid.

  • This was just not fair, and normally a foul is never called that late in the game unless it was intentional somehow. Tenn died not win that game and everyone but the people at Tenn know it.

  • That game infuriated me so much. Rutgers won, plain and simple.

  • This is what makes me so mad. sports cant even be fair anymore these days. Rutgers clearly won.

  • It also looks like Tennesee fouled the Rutgers player on the inbounds but no call and there were still 0.2 seconds on the clock!

  • The announcers are dumb as hell. It takes them forever to figure out that it is physically impossible to shot with 0.2 seconds (when Rutgers has the ball). Peck seems to ignore the fact that the foul came after the clock should have ran out.

  • this is true

  • breakfastisready..

rutgers really did get jipped, and it was the fault of the timer

you cant sit there and say that they didn't

if the timer didn't stop that clock then tenn. wouldn't have gotten that shot up and wouldn't have drawn that foul and went to the line, tenn. got that handed to them because they are more liked, easy as that

candace parker gets everything handed to her, as does the tenn. team

  • happpens all the time.....

What Ruters needs to do is take the high road.

Their coach needs to rally them.

This is when you see what they are made of.

  • the clock clearly just stops at .2 seconds rutgers got jipped

  • This travesty compares to the Olympic bb steal by the Russians over the USA 25 years ago. (They got 2-3 last second tries.) It all points to competent referees. What is the process to view clock snafus? These referees completely got it wrong, and youre right, this was a travesty.

  • Incompetent referees, you mean?

  • Clearly the foul woulda been after the time expired if the timekeeper had not cheated them...

But winning is everything for tennessee womens bball espacially on espn

  • Bottom Line: The refs let the call stand otherwise they would have been lynched by the belligerant Volunteer fanbase.

Simply put: The clock-keeper, and all 3 refs should be shot and killed in very painful public effigy.

  • this combined with the events of last season should serve as the perfect storm should Rutgers have a chance to face UT again in the big dance.

  • i hope that the NCAA could correct the result of the game and award the W to rutgers because anyone who watched the clip knows that the refs and the time keeper messed up the game. it was a terrible end to a great game

  • putting aside the clock for just a moment, like oh, a few tenths of a second -- it really looked to me like Anosike was jumping back to create room for a layup and fell -- while Vaughn was swiping down at the ball. but Vaughn didn't PULL her down. she fell. and there was contact. i've seen this at least 20 times now, and at first I thought otherwise, but now I think she jumped off her feet and had no chance of coming straight down, whether Vaughn touched her or not.

  • exactly. she fell back by herself, and the game was over anyway. complete BS. ncaa investigate who stopped the clock, if it was the timkeeper, give ut the lost and strip away any more home games.

  • It did look like the time-keeper stopped the clock before the whistle, but the if Rutgers defender had time to hack, then she had time to swat the ball from the back-side too. Weird clock stuff going on in Tenn though!

  • Don't blatantly foul and there are no free throws this making the clock a nonfactor. Be accountable, a stupid foul is a stupid foul.

  • On ESPN they said the refs made the right calls so FAIR GAME GO IMUS

  • there are dozens of analysts on ESPN and the ones that i heard today said that it was the wrong call and that the game was clearly over before the whistle was blown

  • does anyone care about womens basketball?

  • if u didn't care about women's basketball then why did u take time out of your day to watch the clip and comment on it?

  • ummm.....i was...Shut up and leave me alone!!!!!

  • wtf?!?!?!? well, some1 is getting fired...-.-

  • what do you know, another lay up cool!

  • Does anyone really care for women sports? IF i wanted to watch bad b- ball i would go see middle school games.

  • well i'm sure they play a lot better than u can

  • that was so cheap

  • i wonder what would have happened if bobby knight was the coach for the rutgers and this happened

    neways the refs are stupid

  • haha! why all the important games always have such dramas? lol! sucks!

  • This is why we shouldn't have female referees.

  • redsox...

Moron, it was the man under the basket that called the foul.

Also, in the inbound, there should have been a foul called on UT.

Tough Break for Rutgers. I'm an admire of both programs.

  • And that is because? It was the male ref not the female refs that made the call.

  • home court advantage. Go Vols.

  • you betchya

  • i saw the end of this and they (rutgers)got fucking ripped off

  • rutgers needs to be strong between last year and this. I am vols fan.

  • When you start pointing fingers you need to first point the biggest one at the young lady that committed the last foul or that pulled the UT player to the floor doesnt matter about anything else theres no place in the game for that its was uncalled for if she had done her job just stood there and tried to block the shot if she could they may have walked out of there with another win instead she let her emotions get the best of her and UT won because of a foul that needed to be called GO VOLS LOL

  • shutup... clock stopped...game should have been over, the foul was after the clock should have ran out. VOLS SUCK, rutgers should have one.

  • Yeah, they suck so much they are 7 time National Champions. The players, fans, and coaches had nothing to do with this call. Don't blame them you clown.

  • vols suck kid, pathetic cheaters.

  • Too close to call. I've seen it in slow motion on other sites and even if the clock hadn't stopped, it's too close to determine if the contact started before time expired. Bottom line, don't be dragging people down from behind like a bush-league player and there isn't a problem.

  • In major college basketball, the clock IS stopped by the ref's whistle. And the refs who stopped the clock were Big East officials, not SEC.

  • Before you speak about the clock, perhaps you should read that the manufacture of the timing system says that there are 3 ways to stop the clock, whistle, button on belt and MANUAL.

  • Well, I don't care who won it, the fact remains that you shouldn't be dragging someone down from behind like that. If the Rutgers players had just played hard defense, even bumping the Vol gal, I bet nothing gets called.

  • Damn! Rutgers got done over on that one lol

  • Holy crap! Just saw the very end. The clock stayed at .2 after Rutgers inbounded and the ball went out of bounds. But the official took it upon himself to declare game over then. Wow, what a travesty.

  • Check the 3:45 mark. The clock winds down to zero (even after the delay) and the ref only begins to blow his whistle when the clock hits zero. The announcer even mentions a clock operator. I think you need to get a clue Bass.

  • The game clock is tied into the whistle - this isn't a high school basketball game and we're well past the 70s and 80s. Get a clue.

What kind of technology is this? I don't know what you are talking about, but no sport with a clock starts and stops on the whistle. There is a clock operator that starts and stops the clock when they here the whistle. That is why officials will routinely ask clock operators to add or remove time to the clock.

  • You couldn't be more wrong mridge.

  • I say you couldn't. Point me to a source. I've never heard of technology that allows the whistle to stop the clock.

  • I just read up on that technology you speak. You are right Bass. but it still doesn't explain how the shot clock froze on .02 and then inexplicably hit all zeros.

  • Bad officiating, but c'mon rutgers pull down a rebound, don't pull down the shooter. Especially in that situation. Obviously it was a foul, but the game should have been over.

  • This is one of the biggest crocks of "SHIT" I've ever seen!!!

  • I don't know what it is about Tennessee and these bogues calls. Same thing happened in 2004 in the Sweet 16 against Baylor--ref whistles with .2 seconds on the clock. Why should the REFS decide the end of a game? LET THE PLAYERS DECIDE! Rutgers was completely and utterly robbed.

  • Bass, explain to me how the game clock is tied to the whistle, if no whistle is heard until about 2 seconds after the clock freezes.

  • The whistle may have been incidental and not loud enough to have been heard if they tried to stop it.

But it's more likely, looking back, that there was a technical issues with the clock. After Tennessee sinks the free throws and Rutgers attempts to inbound the ball - the clock never starts back up and is stuck on .2 but they end the game.

  • Nothing will fix this. move on.

Refs make way fewer mistakes than players or coaches. It happens.

    o yah. Go Vols!

  • shutup, its one thing to make a mistake in live play. but to then look back and see in the replay that the clock stopped before the foul was called and still count it is just stupid

  • Wow!! I don't care for either team and don't follow Women's NCAAB but this is clearly a "clock operator" error. The clock stops while she is coming down and landing... It takes more than .2 seconds to land on the ground, set your feet, and have someone reach their arm out to hit you. Also on top of that, there is someone (who should be investigated at least) who has to physically stop the clock AFTER hearing the whistle!!! This really is BS and I hope they do something to fix this.

  • really hypno? Are you that ignorant? The game clock is tied into the whistle - this isn't a high school basketball game and we're well past the 70s and 80s. Get a clue.

I'm not saying it's right and I wish they game would not have ended that way - but it was the refs fault and there was obviously an inadvertant whistle before. But once again - retarded move by the Rutgers player.

But look on the bright side. Itw womens basketball, two nonconference teams, and its not in the tournament.

  • i am a huge fan of Ut as well and i agree that rutgers won this game i mean you can clearly see that there was a foul but i think i would have happened after the clock had well expired. the one of the back may have been within the time but since the clock stopped prematurely then we will never know. so big ups to rutgers for tha official win.

  • Slapped in the face again are we? Ugh! And you know what? If the shoe was on the other foot, Pat would be having such a hissy fit with the NCAA, omg. She and her brood of Vols fans would be writing ESPN and NCAA on their knees whining about it. Makes me sick.

  • that's ridiculous. props to making the clutch free throws, but they really shouldn't have happened. at least rutgers can make up for it come tournament time.

  • i hear no whistle until the clock reads 00...so the theory of the clock stopping when a ref blows the whistle is BS

  • Rutgers is fu^&$ed again! Unbelievable. I can't believe that the refs watching the replay didn't see that the clock stopped at 0.2 for at least 0.5 seconds! Now I remember why I love golf - no refs!!!

All three refs should be fired

  • I don't think Kia Vaughn did pull her... I think Anasike was falling backwards. Vaughn did have her hand near her shoulder because she reached for the rebound but she didn't appear to pull her.

But all of that SHOULD NOT MATTER... Anaskie wasn't even down to the floor with the ball when 0.2 stopped on the clock. It was impossible for her to complete that entire move in 0.2 sec.

The media, the polls, UT fans... you can all count it as a UT win. But we all really know who won that game. RU!

  • absolutely horrible call by the refs allowing that to happen. its soooo obvious the clock stopped. i'd be willing to accept a story about a ref being paid to give the home team a big break there.

that said, what the hell was that rutgers player doing grabbing the Forwards jersey and pulling her? you had the game won, there was no way she'd get that shot off in time, off balance, and make it. just let her do it and there's no controversy....

  • Don Imus was behind this somehow.

  • Although - I do agree it's ridiculous it had to end this way and it's wrong.

  • This was hilarious. And it's hilarious to look at some of these responses. The WNCAA.. what a joke.

TBA clock is not run by Tennessee fans or supporters. Plus the clock is stopped and started by the whistle. Not by a person. There was an accidental whistle apparently and that paused the clock.

So you should blame the refs for this one. This had nothing to do with "home cooking." Besides - what an idiotic move by the Rutgers player to pull down the UT player.

  • Anosike needs some stabilization in her legs. She can never stay on her feet and this time it almost and should have cost TN the game. I am a huge TN fan, but Rutgers deserved the win.

  • Before you speak about the clock, perhaps you should read that the manufacture of the timing system says that there are 3 ways to stop the clock, whistle, button on belt and MANUAL. It takes more than .2 seconds to land on the ground, set your feet, and have someone reach their arm out to hit you.

Did you ever think that Anasike was falling backwards?

  • LOL!

This is great! The girl GRABBED her by the shoulder, clearly. That is not even debatable. She wasn't fully set yet when she did grab her so that made it look worse, of course.

If you really think the clock was stopped manually, you really need to take a good look at yourself and reflect.

  • Before you speak about the clock, perhaps you should read that the manufacture of the timing system says that there are 3 ways to stop the clock, whistle, button on belt and MANUAL.

  • I cannot beleive in our day and age that they can allow such a ONE-SIDED call in such a big game. How does that feel Rutgers cause you just got Raped Bent over style

  • unbelievable

  • I wish every horse I bet could travel that far in two tenths of a second.

  • I was watching this game and the refs and time keeper clearly screwed this game up big time. BIG TIME.

  • that is fucking ridiculous

  • I'm a RU student, that was BS we WON fair and square can we say riggeddd?!?

  • Wow...this just reinforces my theory that commercialized womens athletics is a total joke. Why should anyone spend their time following this garbage?

  • Rutgers won fair and square. This is a travesty that the NCAA, SEC and Big East must investigate.

  • This is one of the worst homecourt calls I have ever seen. Why didn't the refs take their time in reviewing the play and notice that the clock mysteriously stopped!?

  • That's disgusting. I understand RU is protesting, and I hope they get justice.

  • joke

  • Unbelievable - there had better be an investigation

  • Refs, Rutgers will accept your apology whenever you're ready...

  • Refs, Rutgers will accept your apology whenever you're ready...

  • This game was fixed... Pat Summit show us the beef..

  • total BS! Rutgers got hosed!

  • RU got completely robbed.
