These are really awesome dogs. I've never owned one, but I've hung out with one several times on a work sight, and she was so much fun. She wanted to play all damn day, so if you get one be ready to hang out and play with it.

Chesapeakes are so cool. This world would really suck without dogs. Theres only like 4 dog breeds are dont like that much. Dogs are the best!

I had one for 10 years - Yampa Valley Elvis. What a stud!!! So glad I got to share my life with him. He did things that absolutely amazed me with their toughness. Swimming through icy, swollen rivers to retrieve and NEVER giving up until he had what he'd been sent to get. Climbing mountains.

I will miss him always.

i know! but i was reading a book and it said white spots are allowed on chessies but their main color is supposed to be darkbrown its probably mix chessie

@rozena12345 nope, chessies can go from a light straw (dead grass) to a rich chocolate brown. The best damn dogs (especially the larger old fashioned ones)!
