  • Sovvente il sole

    risplende in cielo

    più bello e vago,

    se oscura nubei

    E il mar tranquillo

    quasi senza onda

    talor si scorge,

    se ria procella

    pria lo turbò.....

    MERAVIGLIOSO..

  • c'est trop beau..............................

  • Muito bonito!!

  • Follow Ms. Stutzmann's gaze at 9:34. She appears to be staring intently at the solo violinist, who is totally NOT watching her directing. :-)

  • @davehshs He's not watching her directing because he's the soloist, and she is merely interpreting his playing to the ensemble.

  • @MercifulMe Thanks. Perhaps I misinterpreted her gaze. She did SEEM to be trying to get his attention. Are you saying that the soloist generally sets the music's tempo? I'd always assumed that the conductor does, especially since, in most concertoes, the orchestra plays for a bit before the soloist enters. (Obviously, I've never played in an orchestra.)

  • @davehshs Well, I do not think there is a set tempo, but I believe the soloist can definitely fluctuate from the ritornello's tempo (which does not start the piece). It can be considered more of a recitative for the violin as well as the voice, so rubato is somewhat acceptable.

  • What a beautiful deep rich voice! Thanks.

  • I've never heard such poignant, beautiful vocal music from Vivaldi. This is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
