Hate to break it to you guys, but the Dash 8's have had multiple main gear failures/collapses. The pilots here did a great job bringing it to a stop, still mostly intact.
absolutely it isn't the airplane fault you in SAS don't do your job properly and you followed the easy way to removed all the dash8 but i must tell you that its the best turboprop aircraft in the world.
my REply goes to Metromechanic. I ve flown dash 8 all series for 22 years. Those gear problems were related to SAS maintenance using the wrong lubricant. Ever wonder why those malfunctions all occured at the same airline? Dont think your pea brain could ever think of that. Use a boroscope up your ass and try to find some light up there!
go fuck yourself, what about the design aspect, if its new and mechanics become unaware or pilots until this happens, how are we to know? Your narrow thoughts can't see anything past your Ray ban's can they? Asshole What would you have done? explain to us all.
Its a newly designed gear system for the new Q400 series, because of the gear issues there is an AD for a massave inspection every 10,000 cycles. A CAD designed system may not always tell you what parts will fail, what parts will cause vibrations because they "sing" with other components.... What about the pilot that crashed an A300 in new york? Is it fair to call him a retard....He was trained to use violant yawing actions to correct for wake turbilance and he snapped the fin off.
Seriously, we deal with ignorant pilots like you ALL the time, think before you speak. more then 99% of the time they walk away with their heads down because manitinance corrected their "problem" and also shot them down for talking shit about us.
There were actually only 3 undercarriage incidents with SAS (not 8), and despite all the bad PR and lack of confidence, they have agreed a compensation deal with bombardier to have them replaced with similar aircraft.
SAS just spent $880 million today to order 27 new Bombardier planes. They found that complaining about a maintenance problem we doing them no good as it happened 3 times within SAS. Dirty hydraulic fluid with bits of plastic and dirt in it was the problem.
Oh a crash 8 400 doing what it does best.
Now I hear a Bombardier CRJ-300 has crashed in Congo killing a lot of its passengers.

@rich22295 Those malfunctions occured at the same airline? hah! I think not!
The same incident had occured on 4 other airlines the SAME year (2007), including Lufthansa and ANA.
There have been another 6 similar incidents since 2007, the last one being just a month ago.
My conclusion to this is that this was Bombardiers fault and obvioulsy not SAS.
Just because you did not read it in the papers doesn't mean that SAS was alone about this incident.

A bombardier dash-8 plane.
In Scandinavia known as the crash-8.
Has crashed in Buffalo. Oups....
Scandinavian airlines grounded them as they where seen as unsafe and that SAS costumers hade lost faith in them.

Ha! Want to make a bet on it? Just because of a stupid little filter which had nothing to do with the first & second!
BTW it does not constitute compensation for 677mil!
How many more serious defects were there on the 737???

Guess what? Looks like it's SAS fault....maintanence issue!
SAS tech is a mess......air santo domingo could of done better job then SAS!

guess what? Bombardier has admitted their mistake(s!!!)
mlevinp 4 years ago
Agaian...since when? A little stupid filter? Tell that to all the other airlines that operate it, & will continue to operate it!
starlinestudios 4 years ago
yea, they will keep operating it, but if BBD just keep shutting their mouths about their mistakes, when will accidents again happen?
I'll tell you, the first time I hear about a Horizon crash with the Q400 (because of the filters), I will probably start laughing.
