By reading a lot of the comments, it seems that the cartoons before my time really rocked. I wish I could see them, & "nicks" new shows are so lame! Why do they make shows that suck while I am a kid?! What did I do?! The shows that are coming out more recently are the worst. I hate watching "icarly" and and reruns of 2005 shows. Spongebob was good, until the movie. After that, lame. :-/

Kid/teen programs back then didn't try to connect with their audience, they just did. They weren't 'educational', but we still learned a lot. Not what 2+2 was, but life lessons and whatnot. They shows us imagination was a powerful tool.

Today shows try to connect with teens and kids. They make messages obvious and imagination is usually turned into a joke, instead of something incredible.

Kids need heroes and inspiration to achieve and that's what we got from these shows. Now it's just a joke.

i remember waking up at three in the morning when i was ages 4-7 and turning on nickelodeon. i watched all those shows and my grandma got a station called "Nick Gas" and it had double dare figure it out and legends of the hidden temple along with all the other nick channels. then noggin became an all day preschool progrAM and they moved the"n" to where nick gas used to be. nick gas exists no longer...

Maybe I'm too old to be commenting on this video, but does anyone remember 80's shows like You Can't do that on Television, Mr. Wizard's World, Danger Mouse, Nick Rocks, Count Duckula, etc. I'm just curious... I grew up on those shows, though I have to admit that I love the Rugrats; they are so cute. I honestly feel sorry for today's generation of kids.
