The word "bad" back then was often used in place of words like "cool", "awesome" and "badass". Nowadays, people love to make fun of users by pretending they mean "cool", "awesome" or "badass" and seriously mean "crappy".

The AVGN was using Power Glove in Rad Racer 1, and it worked well with him.

I understand why this scene is funny to most people. It's great for those who had a rough day.

I just realised.... As soon as he's done playing, don't you hear the map screen sound effect? You know, the one that shows you how far you got in the game? That map screen only shows up when you lose, which means... Lucas is not really that awsome, he lost at the fist level. Either that or the Power glove is "so bad".
