  • THIS OIS CRICKET'S VERSION OF A PENALTY SHOOTOUT

  • should be called handball fucksake, football is the real name for soccer.

  • lol its soo funny, i reckon maybe shouldve done this differently, and at least shouldve had to be both there top bowlers, bowling properly coz its was too easy the way it was

  • lol ahahahahha it looks like soccer in a penalty shoot out

  • harbajan singh 4 sixes hahahahaahah afridi take that

  • what a punk.

taking of hiz shirt like its a football match

  • lol wtf.....

still laugh on poor paki boelers!!!

  • Its still better than football. But 20 20 will kill off the world cup and the county championship watch this space.

  • I love this format of cricket. The other formats are too boring.

  • why ppl are so uncomfortable with these rules. i mean its still cricket they are telling the bowlers to bowl out withut a batsmen, if you are good enough you should be able to do it. they are not making them do javelin throw with the stumps are they???

  • Change is the part of the process......and sometimes it can get interestingly stupid yet fun.

  • For those who have already made themselves look idiots with rabid frothings about diluting the purity of cricket, linking bowlouts and T20 - the first bowl outs took place in 1991 in the NatWest Trophy (60 overs a side) between Oxfordshire and Surrey.

How else do you settle a tie with minutes to go? Toss a Coin?

  • hahahaha new styleee

  • WHAT A BUNCH OF LOSERS. And these guys call themselves cricketers? They are gettin excited after bowling at a wicket and striking it. How fuckin silly. Bloody heck, i can do it as well. What hext will the ICC do? Lemme guess...have a bat out..where a bowling machine will throw balls at 50 mph and they have to hit fours , without a single fielder on the ground.,

    Fuck the ICC.

  • I completely agree with you man, you have a point there..but they say that it is like penalty shootout in football so why can't they have a batsmen like a goal keeper to guard the stumps

  • cuz soccer and cricket r 2 different sports

  • ok then you need like 2 hours to get a wicket, thats like saying, tie 20/20 match, so to decide it lets play a test match

  • haha that was really funny, look that the player who finally hits the stumps, runs like crazy. .i completely understand the adrenaline rush and what it means. .thats why i love this rule :)

  • why dont icc try this in test when its drawn, it will be worth a interesting result after 5 days.

  • Add more insult to the game. Devise something crazier than this.

  • are u abnormal or something.

20/20 has made cricket more exciting. No one has time for a 7 hour game. BUT everybody has ample time for an exciting 3 hour adrenaline rush where all teams have equal chances of winning

  • Watch it! Don't get personal here.

T20 was made just to pull in more money, to popularise it further more in non-cricketing nations or nations where it is less popular. But heck! This is the most stupid version ever seen. ODI is still cricket but T20 is a shame. Cricket is test cricket, this is "bat and bowl", No strategy, no planning, no thinking, simple luck, you bat I bowl- game.

  • LOL

  • Haha, nice short ball by Streak...

  • I was at that game it was awesome - the amosphere was electric!

  • lol y not let the batsman to hit out of the ground on under arm bowl

  • azhar mahmood showed skills man, though he has been very avg bowler these days. I used to like him a lot initially

  • wtf

  • Haha, they are talking the language of London.

  • This makes the game of cricket much more interesting!!! Lets admit the wirld cup was a bit of a farce! The twenty20 world cup should be facinating!

  • heath streak missed? wow that is crazy

    but awesome

  • wasim akram is a cricket legend

  • wtf, it is almost like soccer.. the celebration and shirt flinging. cricket was supposed to be a gentleman's game. :(

  • Soccer is way better

where does the gentlemen came in cricket

all these bullshyt going and match fixing

  • it was just afew odd players who were involved. cricket IS gentleman's game. now soccer you say is better, i beg to differ. soccer is a women's sport.. anyone who likes soccer must be gay or mentally challeneged.

  • Cricket's never been a 'gentleman's' game. Cheating, racism, bribery, class prejudice, sexism, match-fixing, ball tampering (etc) have all been part and parcel of the game from its very beginnings.

Sportsmanship is patchy at best in cricket.

  • Um, no, it's not. I was talking about the politicking that denies membership, board representation and even entry to certain areas of grounds instigated and maintained by cricket authorities over the last 2 centuries.

As for women's cricket, it's almost a non-entity as far as recognition and official support is concerned. Wisden have only just started including the women's game in the Almanac.

Kindly don't make assertive statements about topics you have an incomplete knowledge of.

  • Women have an increasing voice in cricket. It's a redress of past injustices that's not limited to cricket by any means.

However, there has been traditional hierarchial disenfranchisement of women in cricket.

The West Indies has a team and a presence in world cricket: by the same logic that would mean that racism has never been a problem in the game.

  • I'm not going to do your research for you. Just having a team or a league doesn't mean a great deal.

The 'gentlemen' myth is self-perpetuating because people don't question it. Read Mike Marqusee's "Anyone but England", a good introductory essay on historical prejudice in the game.

Cricket may be a 'gentleman's game', both those very same gentlemen were prone to poor sportsmanship, on and off the field (cheating, racism, bribery, match-fixing, class-prejudice all rampant).

  • WTF

  • cudnt the bowler just bowl reli reli reli slow but make sure it hits the wicket. like just go 4 being accurate and bowl at like 30 mph or sumthing

  • nah, compared to ure usuall fast bowl, if u tried to slow it dwn to 30mph ud lose all your rhythem in ure action......... and possibly miss :-o

  • oh yeah...i suppose so but they could they just not have a run up? as long as the foot is behind the line the arm is str8 n above shoulder its legal aint it?

  • actually yea i spose u could, they mase well it would be loads easier

  • am I supposed to understand what he was saying ?-|

  • Wassiiim, my nigga

  • Wasim Akram although he was one of the greatest players in the history of the game the idea of him presenting never really suited him.

  • i though(wrongly) that u had to hit one stump!

  • It's been used before (maybe as early as the 1980s) in English one-day competitions. Not in the case of a tie as they weren't possible but if weather stopped the match taking place.

  • its a pretty stupid way to decide a match, surely they could think of something else

  • don't call me shirley

  • Yeah like selecting one batsman from each team and giving him ten balls to score as many runs as possible, most runs wins!! That would be FUN!!

  • Stunning performance from NZ in the NZ vs WI game, only cos im kiwi and we won:P

  • what about the west indies v new zealand bowl off, no one could hit them

  • Stop discussing about Wasim, the match was unbelievable!

  • Wow wasim presnting a Tv show I love it!

  • wth. wasim has his own show!?

  • He works for ESPN India. This is him on sportscenter
