That is hilarious. Would have loved to have seen their reactions lol. Great prank.

Ah I see. I knew that they used infra red rays to capture speeders, but didn't know they could flash even though they face you. I just thought at the time it was dangerous as I also had blue lights flashing at the same time. Learnt something new lol. Thanks for telling me.

  • Ha - could be like some kids in my old city. They took a big stick and pushed the camera up so it was taking pictures of the sky. The cops didn't realize until days later so they have lots of pretty cloud shots. :)

  • I'll never forget riding a pedal cycle past a speed camera on the Kirkham bypass, near the prison. I waved at the camera on the way past. The posted speed limit there is only 50 mph. Wonder if I'll get called to court ?

  • @hookbastard.

The Gatso speed cameras take 2 snap shots of the speeding vehicle. I had a look at the Truvelo speed cameras via the Internet. That says it uses an infra red light to detect speeding vehicles to prevent them flashing at drivers, that failed. I rushed a patient on blue lights to hospital, and set off 2 Truvelo speed cameras. Both flashed at me causing me to slow down on the first one, because it had dazzled my eyes. They're not very good at all.

  • @17587419 truvelo cameras can use infrared OR visible light for the flash, in the UK they are only approved to use visible light

  • Cameras need to flash more than once to get you done so dont worry about it

  • lol
