She's not lip syncing. She IS actually singing, but her voice is being blended with a backing track. The mic IS on. You can hear her voice--it's very slight but she IS singing. Give the girl a break, she's trying. Even Mariah Carey sings to a backing track as well, along with virtually everyone else in the industry, sadly it's the latest rage. Backing tracks usually contain portions of the song, they're meant to punch up the vocal in areas where the artist is struggling, or needs help.

um if she wasn't ready to do a live performance, she should have "improved" before she released the album. and its not like shes dancing hardcore for her to run out of breath and the song is VERY monotone. even in the recording u can tell that she can't sing.
at least they did a better job with j lo's album where she can actually fake it to sound like she could sing. but this btch is just hopeless. and that stage fright excuse is plain old bullshit, she should just stick to modelling.

I sound 10x better than Cassie could ever! I mean half of the population sounds better than her. There r ppl on youtube with no record deals struggling to make it who have better voices than Cassie and half of the other ppl on the radio. So you make no point. I think people need to lay off her live performances. These are all back from when she was startin' out as an artist. She had major stage fright when she started out. That's gonna mess you up bad; plus she has to dance, too. She can honestly sing. I've heard her acapella. I think people need to stop hatin' and give her a chance. She's a really good artist and she's down to earth. I think she's probably improved in two years, especially with Diddy as a boss.

Lets trully be real. She can hold a tune but thats it. She cant get past an octave of 1. So monotone. Thats why i hate when people say she be hitting high note because she doesnt or the note disapeared. Ive been singing forever and ive never heard someone so monotone. I like her music but she doesnt have a voice to sell records and its not hating its stating facts. She only sold 300,000 copies worldwide, thats horrible to be on a major label. Im still waiting for her to perform on BET again.

On stage singning is damn difficult, monitoring, monitor mix etc etc.
Its easy to mes up especially if u are new to the game.
