I like the Corrs, but nobody could sing this song like Dusty Springfield, another Great Irish Singer. Dusty could hit the high notes like this song was supposed to be sung. Dusty's video of this song is on youtube. You should all listen to her interpretation of this old Irish song.

It sounds like the key is too low for her. If they kicked it up about at least whole step up, it would be much better. Just my opinion. Awesome arrangement though.

Their strength lies in their arrangements and song choices. The lead singer is not a power singer, so she goes with lyric content. I think sometimes too the oiresh accent makes the pitch sound odd, but maybe that's the way its supposed to sound. I like the third verse they added on that others do not sing. This is a great band for what they do. Would you really want them to be different? The only thing I wish is that they wouldn't do so many covers, because their orignal work is so good.

I've never sung this myself but I notice it must be a hard one to keep up in pitch. If Kate Bush gets a puncture 'a capella' on her YT version it's hardly a surprise that Andrea has problems here despite the help of the "Dundalk Philharmonic". Dusty Springfield (also on YT, and also Irish? ) wins the pitch battle for this one.
