Found one of those impossible caches the other day too. It was a small wedge-shaped container glued to the bottom of a pebble behind a bush under may other rocks. lots of fun though. Keep on caching!
technically this type of cache does break the rules . Unfortunately there are a lot of them out in the geocaching world, and to report all of them around here would cause some real animosity with my fellow cachers. I agree with the multiple smiley's.
It seems to me that one bordered on being buried, which is against the rules. You proved that persistence pays. I think you should get more than one smiley for the find.
the trick is to look for anything that is out of the ordinary first, such as bottle caps or a funny looking rock, stick that doesnt look quite right, etc. If that fails then you just have to methodically start turning every pebble and desert debris over. Some of them will require a true test in patience!
OMG! Micros are always tough but that one reminds me of one we did here on the east coast called "Never in a Million Years" hidden by a local called "LegendPilot" Nice job finding that I am sure it was really hard.
I have two hides very similar i made here. but my camo is much better

There would have been no way I could have found that. I don't know how you did it. Simply amazing!

There has been so much trash dumped in the desert that micros hidden in trash made from trash are nearly impossible sometimes.
