You should seriously start using weapons. Bows, Greatswords, axes, etc. Yeah, magic is good, but after I had learned that magic wasn't helping me at all, I decided to get myself a good Greatsword, bow, and arrows. You should do the same.

@negivatechill98 All town/court wizards and merchants have spell books. Wizards have better books than merchants. You can also get spell books at the College of Magic at Winterhold. Check the lvl of the spell first to make sure you can use it; novice, apprentice, adept and so on.

PRO TIP: Your enemy's health is shown at the top of the screen.

You can't possibly be looking at this for two reasons:

1. You frequently remark "This doesn't appear to be working" right before you're about to kill something and switch to something worse.

2. You keep using that garbage conjure familiar spell. Please, please notice that it's not doing much damage and gets killed in two hits.
