@monkeysluttt The acting isn't "bad". This is how a traditional production of "42nd Street" is supposed to be acted. If you look at the original 1933 movie that inspired the show & others like it, this semi-melodramatic acting style is how they staged Broadway shows at that time. "42nd Street" is generally performed with an wholesome innocence and that has been lost in modern times. In our cynical modern eyes it's "bad" acting, when in fact it is exactly what the period acting style requires.
they are both terrible ! I'll stick with Dick Powell.

Yes, the acting is bad. But Mara's voice is so great, I really don't care. Not a fan of KDM though...
