@FirstSolarTeam That link doesn't really help. All it basically says is you don't have any distributors and all the companys listed there only build large multi-megawatt sized projects. Would it kill you to sell some of these things to someone willing to sell them to the general public? It seems really odd that you don't.

Hey assholes!! I've got 20 grand I'm about to drop on solar panels. Where can you buy your products? I searched all over the web and can't find anything but a bunch of BS about how great they are but nowhere to purchase them. WTF??

@ArchNME Well there shortbus if you had 20 grand why would you spend it on solar panels? your opportunity cost of investing 20 grand for 25 years at 5% annual compounding is about 68,000. So would you rather break even after 25 years with solar panels or be 48,000 dollars richer? There's a reason no one has solar panels. Not until there are some major tax incentives and solar panels are a lot cheaper will there be solar panels on top of everyones house.

@DeTr0iTiGeRs I will break even in eight years with 20 grand worth of these panels and will double my money in 16 and triple it within the warrantied lifetime of these panels. That's not even mentioning that the federal government will reimburse me for one third of the initial cost, or that fact that energy costs are likely to increase in the next 25 yrs. Anyway, maybe you should STFU till you know what you are talking about and stop embarrassing yourself.

@ArchNME Lmao you're so full of shit your eyes are brown. From the guy that doesn't even know where to get them. It takes at least 15 years for solar panels to just pay for themselves. I'm sure it costs you 15,000 dollars for electricity in 8 years sure and not to mention you left out the service to have them installed and what about for when its not sunny and the insurance on the solar panels and not to mention that they lose efficiency over time. Welcome to the real world buddy

@DeTr0iTiGeRs I just don't know where to get this particular brand. I do know where to buy some sharp 128watt panels for $240. Where I live I get an average of 4.4 hours of full sun per day over the year. I pay 15 cents per Kw/hr of electricity. Do the math, I have. Also, I plan to install them myself and anything that happens to them would be covered under my regular home owners insurance or the product warranty(which guarantees they wil output at least 80% of their power in 25 yrs)

@DeTr0iTiGeRs Also, there is this stuff called inflation and based on historical inflation rates of the last 25 years that $68,000 you spoke about having in 2036 is only going to have the buying power of about $33000 of today's money. Where as the electricity I won't be paying for will be costing 31 cents a kilowatt hour. That is IF the cost of energy relative to other goods doesn't increase which is pretty unlikely at the rates fuel supplies are being used up while demand is rising.

ive done alot of research too i would buy them off ebay that has good qualities ones for a good price or build them yourself which i have thought about doing ! but Yes First solar and many other factories you cant buy them from the factory direct they only sell them to large companies with huge projects like you said but i think if i had the free time i would get more satisfaction building my own thats just as good !
