If no one answered your question. This version of the song is from the actual play. Completely different characters, and people. Love both versions though
i like anthony stewart head better as Nathan/Repo Man. its a tossup between Alexa Vega and this girl... i dont know her name... the whispers are better in the movie, ahaha.
Yeah, I agree that Anthony Stewart Head is a better Nathan. He has better control of his voice, so he can switch between sounding extremely sad and extremely psychotic pretty much instantly
Anthany Head is FAR better as Nathan, but I have to say I liked this female actress as Shiloh much better. AH is the ONLY one who can do Nate's singing voice so...beautifully! That's the only way I can explain AH's singing voice- just beautiful and heart-wrenchingly wonderful in certain parts.
He's the only actor I will except as Nate and Repo Man. I'm serious~
I think it's from the 2006-movie version - I saw a short clip from the stage version once, and as far as I remember, it was a male solo version... Not 100% sure though.
No one can beat Anthony Head as the Repo Man. ASH's Repo Man makes you shudder (in a good way) because it's creepy and angry and powerful. This man makes him sound sad to the point of being almost cute. I like him. He's a different approach. But the movie version's better, of course. ;) And this girl and Alexa Vega's Shilo sound similar, although this one sounds more rock-like. You can tell Head and Vega were influenced heavily by this version.

i agree with what a few people have said about the girls voice being good and not the mans...not to say that alexa vega doesn't fit shilo it's just this girls fits better,at least from the sound of her voice.
the male sounds much to young to have a 17yr old even if she was concieved at 15 or 16 wich is very unlikley from the look of the comic seen on the film.
I think what's different about this version is that this Nathan plays a more unstable REPO man. While Anthony Head nails both the loving father and the demon, it seems this version emphasizes Nathan's madness. There isn't as clear of a distinction as with Anthony, who even goes so far as to change his voice.
Anthony plays a much more advanced version of the REPO man, but I /love/ the singer of this version, nonetheless. I'd like to hear these singers with the fuller version of the song.
i like both versions. theres something about this that makes it better than the other one, and theres something abotu the other one that makes it better than this one,. But they are equally baddass.
In the commentary they explained that in the original film there was a 20-minute subplot where Marni's body was stolen from under their house, but it was cut out. That's why the Marni hologram disappears from all the portraits. They did a LOT of cutting, actually, I really want to see the full version...
i got it from a myspace page, but i don't think it's downloadble from it anymore because ever since myspace updated and the music pages changed, a lot of songs that were set as downloadable are no longer so.
@xMorbidDemonx I like this for a change, but I LOVE the ASH/Alexa version. Tony is such an actor, he puts more feeling into it and it really rocks! the music is a little different in this and the lyrics too. nice find!
A.) The focus switches to third person because Shilo leaves the room.
B.) There was much more emotion in the movie. Anthony can GROWL!
C.) The words are a little different. At the end of the song in the movie, if I remember properly, Nathan states, "Then let the father die/ And let the monster rise!" Which I think is much more appropriate.
Thanks for all the music. It's nice to be able to hear it until I get my DVD in the mail!
In the description of the video, in the last two lines from Shilo, I don't think that was Shilo singing that part because Nathan said "And didn't I raise her all alone?." If he was saying that to Shilo then why wouldn't he put it as "And didn't I raise you all alone?"
Well, I think the stage Nathan has a great deal of emotion. Anthony Steward Head does a great job, don't get me wrong. I just love this version. To each their own, I guess.
the guy has a good voice I'll give him that but it doesn't work in context of the characters, mostly because the Nathan and shilo sound extremely close in age, more like a feuding couple then fighting child and parent.
i think i like this version better than the movie version, broadway singers tend to have better voices though cuz you have to be awesome to do a musical :-). i think she sings higher than the other girl, a much stronger voice, too. alexa vega did a good job though. i haven't listened to all of the soundtrack on either version yet though. can't wait to actually see the movie! lol.
I found a site that had a bunch of reviews for the movie, apparently people hated it and the music! I don't know about the movie, but I love the music on the soundtrack. Stupid media don't know how to appreciate something that's different (or even *like* this kind of music to be able to review it in the first place) and just chalk it up to a musical attempting Rocky Horror fame. Wtf, these kind of people piss me off.
I enjoy the stage show a lot, but no one can deny that Anthony Stewart Head is the best actor to grace the Repo man role, he has so much life and emotion when he sings!
Yes exactly :D I got the soundtrack from there, and it was amazing. I love the movie version of this song, but my favorite song is "We Started This Opera Sh*t!"
I love this version of the song! :D is this part of a soundtrack?

its a decent version but compared to the movie im just not feeling the intense emotions that this song needs
its not a bad version but the emotions thats needed for this song isnt there and that just bugs the hell out of me
its a good song and you need to fell how intense it is
the music makes it intense
yes they sing good its not that but this needs singers that can really show emotions through their voice and im just not feeling it
