To be technical, Tidus' name is pronounced "Tee-dus" because its JPN equivalent is Tiida, the Okinawan word for sun (hence the motif of his clothes and ultimate weapon, as well as his personality). Still, I usually call him "Tie-dus" anyway, as do many other fans.
