@SolutreanAhnenerbe is not really far from the truth. Amundsen & Ellsworth were in charge of the expedition, not Nobile ! He was a waged pilot, that's all. Riiser-Larsen did most of the piloting job. Nobile was extremely nervous during the journey. He didn't even wanted to take off and said to Riiser-Larsen : "If you take off, its your responsability". Facts. So when I read "comandato da Umberto Nobile con a bordo Roald Amundsen", I find this title is close to propaganda... Great site btw.
