I love this guy and his trike and his philosophy. Very inspirational - have the guts to follow your dreams. Yet one thing I have never been able to get over is ... you can do this as a single person or a couple... try doing it with a family. You either have no kids, or you leave your family behind. Try living in that unique hobbit home with a couple of kids? Take your daughter to ballet practice on a trike? Not likely. I also wonder why he hasn't set up his own hydro source. Not feasible?
Dan also said that this is America and we are all free to pursue his type life. Maybe! But America is a country where someone owns then land where you want to be. Then there are taxes on land. Even a lot of decent BML is leased to ranchers if it has any worth at all. You can stay for free in the desert but your must move a few milkes every couple weeks. And it is super hot in the summer !
I hope he understands that the owners will did at some point and the heirs will sell it out from under him. I admire his efforts but food clothing and shelter requires money and a job is required to get that money. Guess what, very few people can write omething people want to read. This could only be a dream life to many.
I like his house but I would need to be able to stand up in it. I'm 5 ft. so I wouldn't need alot of space. Plus I would need an escape route in case the door got jamed shut. Plus have a bathroom close by.
awesome video.... makes me want to live a simple life like i did back in 2002-2003 again.. maybe not as simple as dan, but as close as i can..
We definitely need to live more in balance with Earth mother and this man is an awesome example of how we should live.. follow your dreams whatever they may be.. we all need to look at our lives and live a life that is respectful of the planet and respectful of ourselves and those in it. I know I am now revaluating my life on how to reduce my footprint
Well Dan, If you breath at a higher rate while you are biking then you are adding to the carbon footprint... just sayin'.

@REGreenTeam A very negative outlook, you have. Anything is possible, if you look through the cracks of objection.
