I hope you can please answer my question. I really need to know. How can get internet on a classic macintosh. I saw you did it and I was wondering how.
i'm thinking of doing this as a business on the good ol' interwebs. it would basically be like you could send me your old macintosh (whatever model you want) and pay for the mac mini, and i would put it together with some insane specs (retina-ish display, removable "guts"(internals), and ya.) please respond if you think this would be a good idea, and please give me ideas on how to improve it. also btw i thought of this idea before i saw this video, so im not copying you bro... lol thanks! :)))
@TrexTech1 Sounds good. I think you definitely need some deeper motivation than just money to accomplish something like that though. there are a lot of engineering challenges to be addressed and it probably won't add up to much money being in it for you. but if it's something you want to do for fun anyway it will probably work out.
considering doing this.... i wanted to use it to monitor my home media server (macmini) I would put some usb ports on the front . What parts are you using :P
@tekgorilla It's an LCD monitor using VGA, couldn't find a monitor that small to use DVI. other new parts are a custom PCB for the ports on the rear, and a custom platform to make the DVD drive line up with the front slot.
i just picked up a dead classic II for 20 bucks with the same thing in mind but I'm also thinking about stuffing a 2TB drive in there along with a linksys router with the firmware hack so that I jack up the signal and use it as a little hotspot.
seems to be a ton of space for more gadgets in there.
Cool
