I think the fact that he had large gloves on also made it much tougher

gloves actaully makes it easier because you can wedge it in you gloves so you dont need to really hold them.

Also, the pucks are likely frozen, making them harder and slipperier. (This is usually done so the pucks don't bounce as much on the ice.) You can hear the pucks click against each other when he stacks them
