I worked in the tourist industry for years. Some of the rudest people i ever encountered were israeli youth. But some were very very nice people too. anna's got guts; i've got a new found respect for her. they should never let fedcup be played in israel again; that was disgusting of the crowd; and i thought the french crowd was bad. the umpire should have started deducting points from the israeli player every time the crowd tried to yell during anna's serves or shots.
That would be unfair, the Israeli player was doing nothing to encourage the crowd's behavior. I didn't see the match, but if Anna was acting like this the entire match, the only one she has to blame is herself, rejoicing after every point the way she did is not okay, and is disrespectful to the other player. Yes, the crowd was wrong, very wrong, but Chakvetadze was wrong in her behavior as well.
Also, Davis Cup crowd's are usually pretty bad, but this the worst I've seen.
