  • Very helpful techniques watched all of them very helpful thank you for videoing.

I have a question on creamy stay soft white icing that don’t dry.

What are the ingredients to preparing it?

  • it seems like her icing dried out while recording and made it more difficult.

  • are those icing buttercream icing? how to make icing?? T.T

  • She was so worried about covering the cake that she didn't see that the buttercream did not cover the cake 100 %. If I needee a decorated cake I would not buy one from her.

  • Master cake decorator....? Where?

  • Wow, why so many trolls!!! Thank you for you videos! they are very helpful. Ignore the trolls, I find that those who can't, criticize. Poor things.

  • im surprised this cake didn't fall down and break with the amount of pressure being put on it.

  • her icing is really hard. she always is squishing the cake when shes adding icing :/

  • Thinning down the icing a tiny bit with some milk or even just water would realllllyyyy help you smooth this out better.

  • This is definitely a bad example of icing a cake . Very sloppy and if you teach sloppy you get sloppy results with your students because they were not taught proper technique or handling.

  • she needs to get a bigger turn table HAHAHAHAHA i would actually laugh if the cake fell on the floor

  • Wow thats a lot of icing which means a lot of sugar damn it this woman cant decorate she needs a bigger turn table and she is so sloppy and messy and rough

  • For a pro who baking/making cakes for living..Man,she sucks!

  • Her icing is not creamy enough its hard to put it on smooth you can tell.

  • is she really a professional??

  • yeah that's funny, she doesn't have control of her cake..she keeps letting it slide around as she is working it..that's professional? Oh well as long as the customer is happy with the final outcome.

  • She may be a professional, but she's not showing it right now. She just needs to stop being so rough with the cake and stop being sloppy/messy. She's about to smash the spatula into the cake!!

  • wowwwwwwww the cake almost fell off the rotator like 2 times

  • Being a professional cake decorator you should have used a bigger rotating base for the cake Lol

  • That frosting is WAAAY too thick to cover the cake.

  • when she says icing she means buttercream doesnt she?? novice sorry please help x

  • i started off watching vocaloid videos, and some how i ended up here XD

  • she puts the blobs of on icing on the top, the cake sinks in the middle

    @ 0:40

  • wow... I think she's due for a new turn table. 8\

  • gee thats a ton of pressure

i feel sorry for that poor cake.

  • I wasn't thinking "You haven't took all that icing off", I was thinking "She is applying WAY to much pressure on that cake!

  • so hard :D :D

  • i no this i only a draft copy of a cake shes showing but she still shud have forozen the cake first. looks realy soft to be putting thick icing on. still gud tho :-)

  • her cake is wonky.

  • she luks so unexperienced ,,,, sorry lady but u need lill more practice

  • @sunerita look behind her, that doesn't look unexperienced.

  • Please share your recipe for cream

  • a MASTER DECORATOR ????? I DON'T THINK SO... SHE MADE A MESS

  • a MASTER DECORATOR ????? I DON'T THINK SO...

  • use a better turn tabel plzzz !!! :'( xx

  • great tips!! except the icing is way too thick in consistency.

  • this woman has somewhat of an idea of what she's doing, but she has no technique.

  • ok everyone stop....no one is at fault this woman does not know a thing when it comes to baking and sugar arts, what a damm mess....you should not have to press on your cake ....whats this icing made crisco, water and powder sugar YUCK....Nasty!

  • @31hunnybunch If you know a lot about it, can you please make a video of how to do it right? I'm trying to learn something about it because I'd love to try a Marine themed birthday cake for my dad. I had one professionally done for my mom, but I'd love to try one on my own this time.

  • not a fan of this video

  • Wow so many childish comments Lol.... Is that the only chance to make yourselves feel better by being bitchy about someone on the net.... Get a grip and if you don't like her than don't watch it.. Idiots!!

  • I can't believe how so many people can be rude and negative. Its a cake decorating example clip, no-one needs your negative comments about the womans weight or personal attributes. How dam rude! I think she explains things very well and quite informative. Thank you monkesee. Cheers - AC

  • she sounds like michelle duggar.

  • I don't think you can beat the look of fondant/sugar paste to cover a cake. You can never really get butter cream perfect like you can with the rollable icings.

  • Thank you so much for sharing!

  • it seems that the icing is too thick ..

thats why the cake is about to break, because she pulls to much...

    well.. maybe thats her TECHNIQUE...AHAJJJJJJAJAJ

  • the cake looks uneven some how O_O"

  • ad just a little bit more and you may get diabtes yay

  • @xXxd3liciousxXx its not like you are gonna eat all by yourself dumb ass

  • @L3SlLeYh

u don't have to say dumb ass to me i didnt say anything insulting to you so thats not cool,

anyway i got diabetes from my dad cuz of the genetic, its just telling if u eat this often its not good for your health a lot of kids and grown ups getting diabetes cuz of the sugar food and if u got diabtes i can tell its not so much fun so no hate just telling my opinion

  • @xXxd3liciousxXx You're correct in that too many sugary foods is bad. You can actually get type II diabetes from introducing too much cane sugar to your bloodstream too often. The insulin glands end up getting wacked out because they can't tell if the sugar is coming or going. My grandfather had it, and it tends to skip a generation, so I'm trying to watch it also. I don't eat sugary stuff every day, just on occasion. I prefer using a substitute. Most sugar is bleached also, which makes it worse

  • @L3SlLeYh Wow, that was mature. Do you tell people off by saying "your mom" also?

  • the icing seems thick. could it be e bit thinner? easier too put it on maby?

  • SO MANY SHIT TALKERS. give it a break!

  • is it me or is the cake on a slight angle? :L x

  • it would have been helpful if she put it in the freezer or refrigerator to firm it up before icing it.. that way the cake is less likely to "almost" break.

  • the doesn't look good, too much icing. You should probably purchase a better and bigger turntable.

  • My instructer told us to ice the sides then the top

  • thats thick icing...

  • what a mess

  • I keep waiting for the cake to fall off the turntable. Nervewrecking! LOL. Looks soo good with the icing though

  • What recipe do you use for your icing?

  • do want to share the recipie for the icing you use?? thanks;O

  • take the = out of feature=channel to get rid of the advertisement

  • use should get a larger pedastool whisch is much more stabel...........

  • people pay this woman to teach them? amazing....

  • I heard like ..

Bubbles popping or somethin O_O ~

  • great demonstration. It would of been easier if the turn table was larger.

  • Good tip at 1:34.

  • what a messy baker/decorater !

  • @15mikegib - It only appears messy in the beginning. If you watch all of the vids, you'll probably find that the final product is quite beautiful!

  • did betty croker kitchens copy you or did you copy them?

  • @Idespisechristians it's no big deal!

  • hi like to know what this ice and k vcs speak I live in Brazil can someone help thank you very much min

  • Can you show a video on making that icing please

  • 3:05 her laugh is HILARIOUS. But she has great techniques on icing a cake.

  • hi very beautiful work and I wonder what that coverage. kiss in the heart

  • @babyschreuder, the first coating is the thin coat of icing to cover the crumbs. so for the second coating, she used thicker layer of icing. so yes, the second coating of the icing is the medium consistency. :)

  • master cake decorator OK

  • put some more icing and maybe u get diabetes

  • I prefer to use a pastry bag and a quick icer to ice the base of the cake. With using this sometimes you don't have to crumb ice the cake because you're not applying the it with a spatula which is the easiest way to actually get crumbs to start crumbing up. The only time i use a spatula is SMOOTH the top of the cake, and to smooth the sides of the cake I use a flat cake decorating comb. It's a lot quicker and cleaner.

  • thats a lot of iceing

  • @cookiemonster11221 yeah cos she scrapes it off later. ¬.¬

  • Very messy....

  • what type of icing do you use b/c store bot ones are almost to thin

and even my icing comes out runny anybody got any tips on how to make it thicker

  • u need to use royal icing

  • @itsjulayy dont use royal icing to cover your cake, is easier to do it with buttercream

  • ooh really?

when i used butter cream it was sooo sweet

when i use the royal icing it was not sweet at all more like

    tasty. idk

    but thanks

  • this is called buttercream frosting

  • Best thing to do is to make your own if the kind you buy is too thin. Or you could try getting the icing that is too thin and adding powdered sugar to it and mixing it in. Just don't over beat it.

  • @tally4395 hi tally, to thicken your icing, use confectioner's sugar, start putting a little bit at a time, mix it and check the consistency of the icing, if the icing is still too thin, put more confectioner's sugar... If happens to be too hard, pour 1 teaspoon of water to thin it... Now, as information, the icing for the covering of cakes should be thin consistency, cause it will be too hard for you to distribute in on the cake.

  • Hi, thanks for posting the recipe :D x

  • i tried this and it was amazing!!

    :D

  • now i want cake =(

  • i can you give me a good recipe for chocolate sponge and also vanilla? great videos and very helpful.. thanks Hayley :)

  • i have a really easy sponge cake. 4 eggs 1/3 c. self raising flour 1/3 c. all purpose flour 1/3 c.cornstarch. 2/3 c. sugar 1. sift the flours ans corn starch 5x 2. Beat the eggs whole until triple in volume and add sugar.(just dump the sugar in the begging) 3. flod in the dry into the eggs 4. put in spring form pan and bake at 400 degrees (if u want a chocolate sponge just sift 1/4 cup of unsweetned cocoa powder to the dry ingredients
  • thanks for posting the recipe... :D x

  • i get hungry when i see this

  • wow this really hleped me make my daughters bday cake

  • thanks! so is icing better or frosting! and how can i get icing?

  • Her laugh is kind of creepy!

  • is icing the same thing as frost???

  • no its not

  • Dang that's a lot of icing. MMMMM!!!

  • When she put the icing on, the cake allmost broke :S

  • Yeah! I'm sure she realized it even before applying it to the cake, but her icing was too stiff and dry for someone else with less experience to attempt to frost a cake. The cake came out great though- even when doing a live demo.

  • @DutchRodent yeah, that's where i'm afraid for, what if it breaks hahahh xD bye bye cake. :(

  • @DutchRodent lol

  • Her icing consistency is too stiff, she should ice it with thin cosistency icing!

  • She is a GREAT teacher and Baker. She even said herself she should of had a larger turn table. She is so good that shocked me also. But she knows what she is doing! Don't look at this one video and think otherwise

  • yeah i agree , the cake is like a sponge , is she a teacher? a bad one if so. her frosting is to hard aswell, this is not bad but it isnt good at all. dont freak on me i just say what i think.

  • WHAT ARE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT? She knows how to ice, and as a baker I know, she's very good.

  • shes hot!!

  • I love your voice and you explain as you go real nice I think your icing is to stiff for what your video watches will ever find or make, if this for beginers then they need to see what "real" room temp. sloppy icing is gonna be like! It's hard to work with but it;s real...................I live in the Daytona Beach FL. area, it might just be the weather too!! lol

  • thought u did an awesome job..i usually get a few crubs coming thru..do u use viva paper towels to smooth after u smooth with spatula

  • The cake isnt even smooth. It has bumps and wrinkles all on the sides. -_-

She also made the cake almost fall ff the turn table. She should've anchored it to it and go a higher turn tabe to keep her fingers OUT of the frosting.

  • she actually knows what she's doing! love this! good job. thank you =)

  • you guys stop righting mean comments shes just trying to help people bw this is awesome i just love to see people frost cakes

  • What she SHOULD have done is to anchor the cake to the turntable with some frosting. Sheesh. What a rookie.

  • this cake is making me nervous...keeps jiggling, and the turntable is the same size as it so it looks like it so gonna fall off....

  • I think the rotating plate is too cheap!

  • I think she needs to learn how to really ice a cake. She sucks!

  • What type of icing are you using? I would love to be able to smooth a cake as in your next video but usually use a icing that stays moist.. help please

  • this should be classified in horror

    did u hear her laughter

    hehehe its scary

  • Thank you for this tutorial. This is the part of cake decorating I have the most trouble with!

  • this cake is fighting her

  • thats thick icing. shouldn't it be a little thinner so you're not having to press on the cake so hard?

  • Icing? Hmmm is the icing used in this vid the same as whipped cream?

  • I love the little red trimmed cake at the beginning!

  • same! =)
