  • @mikebloomfirld66 TRUE !! R I P MIKE BLOOMFIELD

  • @mikebloomfirld66 By far? No, he's very, very good, but I think you should check out former ABB guitarist Jack Pearson. I think you will find one that beats all of these plus Mike. He won't say that, but his playing says it for him. If you haven't heard him, you've missed a real treat.

  • @rockinredneck57 i checked out jack pearson.no doubt he is good. but i find his playing rather boring.no one had the passion and emotion mike had.just my oppinion.

  • @rockinredneck57 I saw Jack Pearson with the ABB in Knoxville a couple of years ago. Good player, but certainly not the caliber of Bloomfield.

  • AMEZinG=)) so clear... so deep :XXX love it :X

  • For Michael Bloomfield and Paul Butterfield check out ZINEDINE05 he is the blues man with the great music collection.

  • I saw the flag back in the early 70s with Bloomfield, Nick Gravinites, Harvey Brooks, Mark Naftalin, Buddy Miles, etc. Bloomfield looked a little different from his pictures with the Butterfield band, but he was definitely in charge at this gig.

  • @Barnekkid he's worm food now! heheheee...enjoy worms!

  • @sylicone221 Yeah, kinda like your brain.

  • @Barnekkid mike was a druggie heheehe...enjoy worms! heheheheee..worm food rotting corpse hehehheheeh!

  • Stuff like this made me a lover of the blues,I can smell the weed up in the balcony of the Filmore while watching the joshua light show

  • The best tone ever in my humble opinion

  • Yes it is..........Les Paul mated to a Fender....it's so chewy!

  • @MattGWauck His 59 les paul through a twin reverb correct? I know he played a tele on East West

  • I love it how the crowd cheers after the mighty solo has finished. He hits a really high note in the solo - amazing. That's very advanced guitar playing. I'd have to say Mike Bloomfield is my third favorite guitar player of all time behind Stevie Ray Vaughn and Buddy Guy.

  • Unmistakable original blues stylin'--NOT mimicking Albert(s), BB, Freddie, Buddy, Guitar Slim, Earl Hooker, or the other greats. His own interpretation, loosely based on his predecessors and contemporaries and his own muse.

  • Oh that sweet twang of Mike plucking that '59 Gibby Les Paul.

    RIP

  • The harmonics !

  • Bloomfiled was really responsible for Dylan "going electric".

  • I was there this is the night, weekend I first met Michael..! I saw 16 in 1968...

  • Mike Bloomfield/Al Kooper... Hell of a duo

  • siiiiiiiiiiick

  • 俺はこの人の大大大ファンなんだぜぃ。 i'm a very very very huge fan in the world. それも40年も前からなあ。 for about fourty years before. 俺はニッポンてえ島国のヘタレ素人ギタリスト。 a little amateur guitarist far from far east called nippon な nippon.← japa~n な。 右手にピーターさん、左手にマイコーさん、てなもんや。 peter green in my right hand, and in the left i've been hold my michael everyday てなもんや。 tenamonnya, 分かったか! you know it!
  • @yurikaslawer さて、ピーター グリーンとマイケル ブルーム フィールドの両方が世界中でよく知られているかを知る良い。天気の良い日で再生してください。

I used the google translator, so I hope it worked out fine.

    Vanu.

  • @yurikaslawer Hey man, you have good taste !

  • @yurikaslawer im with you on the peter green and bloomie

  • @yurikaslawer I lived in Japan 40 years ago when I got turned on to Michael Bloomfield ! I've always loved his playing & do like you , keeping his music in heart & soul!

  • @yurikaslawer

My two favorites also!!! Google trans not too bad, I'm able to understand. If I could pick one guitar player out of all the greats that I wish I could play as good as, it would be Mike Bloomfield in the late 60's, in his prime, before...

  • Im not sure but I think this is a sonny boy williamson song and he still owns it. But mike B was magic!! Bob dylan said he was the best guitar player he ever saw and that is why he was on highway 61

  • One dislike?!!?=must be the man from this song, that came in. Dudes a bummer!!!

  • @Jenscool Youre funny, man!!!!...can always use a good laugh!!!!

    Have a nice day!!

    V.

  • @Jenscool All about the love...hahaha!!!!

;) nice day to u 2, stay out of trouble...I got email's askin' if I knew you!! I sent the .l. 2 them!!

  • what a beast, check out my 26 best blues and jazz guitarist"s

    he's number 11

  • Very similar to Freddie King's sound.

  • Best version, of one way out ever, brings back the memories!

  • And the worlds best tone award goes to ....Bloomfield

  • loved the allman bros version...but his blows it away.

    absolutely great...thanks

  • Last chorus. He bends till he hits a harmonic tone. Brilliant.

  • Equally mystifying was Roy Buchannans suicide in a Fairfax County, Va drunk tank......his wife to this day thinks there was foul play but he was another tortured soul i'm afraid

  • Mike, in my opinion, was anolagous to a white Hendrix.

  • great guitar player, i went to same high school as mike, new trier east in winnetka, he played in jazz band back in 61, joined paul butterfield in 1965, also check out mike with al kooper and steve stills, super session, great classic songs on that one from dylan and donovan

  • There seems to be precious little film footage of Michael playing. Damn shame.

  • Ditto on that.

Thank the universe I saw him play!

    Butterfield Blues Band.

  • Hi balletbonnie, I envy ye...I saw Butterfield with Buzzy Feiten...it was alright!!!but you understand that I wish Bloomfield was there!!!!

    Have a nice day!

    Vanu.

  • @balletbonnie01 I got to see the Butterfield Band with Bloomers probably 5 or 6 times. I saw the Flag at Monterrey and then several times after that. I was a blues junkie and Bloomers was one of my faves at the time.

  • @MaabudZ Lucky You!!

  • From 3'13" - 3'19" - no one's ever done that! From another planet man! Another Planet and another Country on that planet!

  • The exact events and circumstances that lead to his death are not clear. What is known is that Bloomfield was found dead of a drug overdose in his car on February 15, 1981.

    From Wiki pedia...

  • Y'all don't think Duane & Greg didn't listen to this guy?

Damn shame, another great talent lost to the needle.

    RIP, Mike

  • silly.... Michael didn't die by the needle! He committed suicide in his garage.

  • @rhinestonegirl1 : no, he didn't commit suicide in his garage. That was Danny Gatton (1945-1994).

  • I'm sorry but you are wrong. The truth is very sad but true. I should know.... I'm his cousin!

  • whooh...then sister im sorry. but brief is best against abstract mediocraty. i fear i fill the later teir

  • @rhinestonegirl1 Cousin or not, I don't believe he committed suicide. The official autopsy report said accidental drug overdose. He was a heroin addict, and that fatal night, he took too much. I doubt it was deliberate and no one can prove it was.

  • @lanes58 There's never an accidental heroin overdose. To begin with, you have a death wish using dope. I really can't understand how an autopsy proves it was accidental???? As I remember at the time of his death that he was suffering from chronic depression because he didn't receive the attention (as an artist) that he deserved.

    comment please..

  • @padleynj An addict's brain is telling them something different than a normal brain. And that is, that it needs dope. That trumps any common sense and reasoning. It's a sickness and they continuously live on the edge. Most don't want to die, and they don't like to think about dying. They just want their dope to get them through another day. I don't think Michael wanted to die, but no one will ever know for sure.

  • pdshane - You are correct. Danny Gatton's "suicide" has been surrounded in mystery. Unfortunately Bloomfield's demise seems to be an overdose. I am old enough to remember both deaths.

  • Sir, I am 54 and recall them as well. Both incredible losses. I loved MB's work in particular and more so with time.

  • close to electric flags, killen floor..

    but i love that version....

    hum, wonder why...

great players, great groove...very tight for the late 60's....

    for blues rock anyway.

  • Great Jam.

  • not bad 4 2 white boys

  • bagoona, I didnt know they r white,

    Tks 4 pointing that out!!!

  • don't be handing Albert the diss... you never saw him if you spew that crap... he always put on a great show... get real...

  • HI Guys! The song is great but it's not live as far as I can see. Just one selfhome animated song, maybe from the CD "last concert" I really Do love Mike but I think thatt We should separate songs, talks with videos. Don't Ya? Anyway anyhow - greetings from Sweden

  • kokadkokis,

Well Its not a footage from the actual concert but the audio is recorded during the life performance at the Fillmore East - 1968 as fas as you can hear!!

    Anyway,anyhow greetings from the Netherlands.

  • So, the applause at the end - what was that? Friends in the studio?

  • Bloomfield was the best, Man it's always the best that die.

  • @shakedownstreet48 we all die

  • @shakedownstreet48 Nah, we all die too young or old!!!

  • Yeah. Al Kooper create a good background of this song.

  • Ho snap son! Bloomfield just owned the Allman Brothers!

    sweet graphics too.

  • Best version of this song I think..even better than the Allmans..

I love Mike's singing in this because he kind of chuckles when he sings some parts... Makes the "story" funnier.

  • Great cover of a great song!!!
