Always loved the Allmans doing this (saw them at a private concert couple of years ago, this song blew the doors off the place), but this is a great version, really gets you moving!
I have been going over the Super Session videos with Stephen Stillsand Al Kooper with Mike Bloomfield and after listening I must say Mike was a gifted guitarist who was so clean and sincere. and sylicone221 your tyime is up. Thanks Vanu49 for the great posts.
@mikebloomfirld66 By far? No, he's very, very good, but I think you should check out former ABB guitarist Jack Pearson. I think you will find one that beats all of these plus Mike. He won't say that, but his playing says it for him. If you haven't heard him, you've missed a real treat.
@rockinredneck57 i checked out jack pearson.no doubt he is good. but i find his playing rather boring.no one had the passion and emotion mike had.just my oppinion.
I saw the flag back in the early 70s with Bloomfield, Nick Gravinites, Harvey Brooks, Mark Naftalin, Buddy Miles, etc. Bloomfield looked a little different from his pictures with the Butterfield band, but he was definitely in charge at this gig.
@sylicone221 Yes he is young one,,,,they are waitin for you,,at least he made a contrabution worth listening to,,You on the otherhand are a waste of time.
@sylicone221 yup, you're an idiot, through and through....Zinedine puts a world class collection up for us all, and all you can say is worm food.....you need to go back to mommy and have your mouth washed out junior.

I love it how the crowd cheers after the mighty solo has finished. He hits a really high note in the solo - amazing. That's very advanced guitar playing. I'd have to say Mike Bloomfield is my third favorite guitar player of all time behind Stevie Ray Vaughn and Buddy Guy.
Unmistakable original blues stylin'--NOT mimicking Albert(s), BB, Freddie, Buddy, Guitar Slim, Earl Hooker, or the other greats. His own interpretation, loosely based on his predecessors and contemporaries and his own muse.
俺はこの人の大大大ファンなんだぜぃ。 i'm a very very very huge fan in the world. それも40年も前からなあ。 for about fourty years before. 俺はニッポンてえ島国のヘタレ素人ギタリスト。 a little amateur guitarist far from far east called nippon な nippon.← japa~n な。 右手にピーターさん、左手にマイコーさん、てなもんや。 peter green in my right hand, and in the left i've been hold my michael everyday てなもんや。 tenamonnya, 分かったか! you know it!
@yurikaslawer I lived in Japan 40 years ago when I got turned on to Michael Bloomfield ! I've always loved his playing & do like you , keeping his music in heart & soul!
My two favorites also!!! Google trans not too bad, I'm able to understand. If I could pick one guitar player out of all the greats that I wish I could play as good as, it would be Mike Bloomfield in the late 60's, in his prime, before...
Im not sure but I think this is a sonny boy williamson song and he still owns it. But mike B was magic!! Bob dylan said he was the best guitar player he ever saw and that is why he was on highway 61
Equally mystifying was Roy Buchannans suicide in a Fairfax County, Va drunk tank......his wife to this day thinks there was foul play but he was another tortured soul i'm afraid
great guitar player, i went to same high school as mike, new trier east in winnetka, he played in jazz band back in 61, joined paul butterfield in 1965, also check out mike with al kooper and steve stills, super session, great classic songs on that one from dylan and donovan
@balletbonnie01 I got to see the Butterfield Band with Bloomers probably 5 or 6 times. I saw the Flag at Monterrey and then several times after that. I was a blues junkie and Bloomers was one of my faves at the time.
The exact events and circumstances that lead to his death are not clear. What is known is that Bloomfield was found dead of a drug overdose in his car on February 15, 1981.
@rhinestonegirl1 Cousin or not, I don't believe he committed suicide. The official autopsy report said accidental drug overdose. He was a heroin addict, and that fatal night, he took too much. I doubt it was deliberate and no one can prove it was.
@lanes58 There's never an accidental heroin overdose. To begin with, you have a death wish using dope. I really can't understand how an autopsy proves it was accidental???? As I remember at the time of his death that he was suffering from chronic depression because he didn't receive the attention (as an artist) that he deserved.
@padleynj An addict's brain is telling them something different than a normal brain. And that is, that it needs dope. That trumps any common sense and reasoning. It's a sickness and they continuously live on the edge. Most don't want to die, and they don't like to think about dying. They just want their dope to get them through another day. I don't think Michael wanted to die, but no one will ever know for sure.
pdshane - You are correct. Danny Gatton's "suicide" has been surrounded in mystery. Unfortunately Bloomfield's demise seems to be an overdose. I am old enough to remember both deaths.
HI Guys! The song is great but it's not live as far as I can see. Just one selfhome animated song, maybe from the CD "last concert" I really Do love Mike but I think thatt We should separate songs, talks with videos. Don't Ya? Anyway anyhow - greetings from Sweden
