  • one of my most adored singers singing my most beloved song.. such a trance

  • soooo nice song

  • No translation of a Urdu ghazal can do justice to it, U just have to learn a little urdu to undrestand it, U dont know what U R missing. Its a amazing language.

  • @FutureRacers the meanings can bell well learned but u need to be more mature to translate the real meaning rather than a literal word to word translation.. the implication of the phrases & sentences are the most sacred secret of any ghazal

  • ala

  • The smart, good looking and sweet voiced Mr. Mahmood will always have a special in our hearts.

    SALUTE YOU!

  • If only they wrote more songs and composed more music like this! The ultimate romantic song!

  • Sadly Hindi film Music directors fell for western music and money of course had upper hand apart from achieving commercial success. After all cinema has been a business where all social values have been lost and all crap is being turned out that is having negative effect on the youth of this country. There were some unwritten codes earlier. Talat mahmood retired gracefully after seeing the growth of trash in Music. He was happy at home.

  • Lovely song. Could someone send me an English translation, please.

    Thanks.

  • Talat Mahmood naam hai anmol heery ka...jo bhi gaya khoob gaya...03332615659

  • He has been one of my all time favourite singers.A unique voice quality...we need to preserve his songs & gazals updated for our posterity.

  • Nice Ghazal. Talat is the finest Ghazal singer after K L Saigail. Truly immortal

  • the gazal king ever born such a soft voice with waves of fluctuaions like soft moving

ganges the use of the musical instruments in india is a award of god to us why

should we beg those western culture and degrade our nation the new era musician

should wash the feets of these musicians and learn our culture than licking the

    legs of western musicians

  • To ejnjoy this ghazal..listen to the original soundtract..smooth magical from the stars above ...and be stunned..this is so coarse

Rafi sounds even better, he is a classs indeed. Talat has Good voice with gr8 composition, but Rafi takes the song to even higher zeniths

  • Beautiful memories of my university days are associated with this song. The innocence of emotional and sentimental involvement are fresh still in my souvenirs that I cherish even now when circumstances of life have changed the context and doused the flames if not completely. Those days of pure innocence are mingled in this great song that makes me feel great every time I listen. With thanks to my dear friend Shaikh Nazir for introducing it on Face book..

  • 99% of Indian film's stories, dialouges, lyrics are and were in Urdu, yet they are called Hindi movies, hindi songs. Is it not a shameful hypocricy that you enjoy the beauty of one language but give it the name of other language, why?

Let us remove few words from this ghazal/song, words like ada, nisar, arzoo, justujoo, bahar, bekhabar, asr, ghazab, khahair, meharbaan, kharar and replace these words with hindi words. can anyone do it plz? will we be able to enjoy the song in hindi version.

  • @MrRafkhan Indians believe in harmony among linguistic diversity :)

  • @MrRafkhan. Don't be so narrow minded. Hindi has adapted words from many languages, English, Persian etc This is the way hindi as is spoken in India

  • mr rafikhan,

i think urdu is just a mix of "hindi" and persian...urdu cannot claim to have a single independent word.all the words that you have mentioned are farsi words.show me a word in urdu that does not exist in hindi or persian.

  • You are right. These bigots have almost killed the Urdu language...next they'll move to killing Urdu speaking people....Just give it time.

  • what a melody!!! awesome

thanks for the wordings and the translation

  • this song i feel its first love letter .who write he wrote powerfull song in his life.and sang it by talat saab great song love it thanks

  • film name : sang dil

    music: sajjad hussain

  • ye hawaa, ye raat ye chaandanee, teree yek adaa pe nisaar hain

muze kyo naa ho teree aarajoo, teree justajoo mein bahaar hai

tuze kyaa khabar hai, o bekhabar

teree yek najar mein hain kyaa asar

jo gajab mein aaye to kahar hai

jo ho meharabaa to karaar hai

    teree baat baat hain dilanashee

koee tuz se badh ke naheen hasee

hai kalee kalee pe jo mastiyaan

teree aankh kaa ye khumaar hai

  • @JANACKNUCKCHEDDY These winds, this night, the twinkling stars, all of them love each and every gesture you make. Then why should I not have the desire for you? The garden of your desires has blossomed..

Oh! You are so unaware, what effect your one look can have. If your eyes are amazed then they could create havoc or in their merciful state could agree to anything one says.

  • Hi Raju!

Thanx a lot for your translation Heavy duty indeed !

    Now I understand better !

    If ever I could help ? ! Don't hesitate

    Thanks again

    Janack.

  • @JANACKNUCKCHEDDY There is something about you, you are the best, there is no one as beautiful as you. The excitement on these blossoming buds is because of the effect of your eyes..

I tried my best! It really wasn't easy. There aren't many words in the English language which can portray the feelings a Hindi word could do so easily..This stands true for every language int he world...

  • @drpraju Thanks, that is quite some efforts, Even an english man can now appreciate this song now ... thanks to you.

  • This is URDU my dear Raju. Hindi may be a great language but poetry in Urdu is in a league of its own. But I must say u've done an alright job in translating this great piece of shayari.

  • masta296,

i think urdu is just a mix of "hindi" and persian...urdu cannot claim to have a single independent word.all the words that you have mentioned are farsi words.show me a word in urdu that does not exist in hindi or persian.

plz any body tell me film name plz

  • @mirfanali33

The film is Sangdil (1954), Bollywood's version of Jane Eyre.

  • Touching & emotional...........

  • gr8 lyrics, gr8er composition and gr8est voice.. mazaa aa gayaa !!!

  • Just remember not listen to his songs when you are hear broken because it will put in very deep depression. I love his voice since childhood. His voice has so much emotion

  • The taal is deepchandi which has 14 beats; 3 + 4 + 3 + 4......Similar but slower than roopak taal.

  • what beat is this please?

  • yeah u r right talat's voice is incomparable - best suited for ghazals

wo makhmal si awaaz usme wo khumaar

  • God...I am speechless!Tujhy kia khabar hay o bekhabar...i dont know why would we need to copy at all the western culture when we have such origional poets and singers who still hold the torch of values and aesthetics.Sub-continent is getting westernized at a rapid pace,i wish we know what we really are and dont let the satan of so called freedom spoil our culture and values!

  • I agree. We some more interested in being third-rate imitators of western culture when I own culture is some much richer. Most of what Bollywood turns out is crap.

  • @rainnyourvoice We are not to be change for the worse,we have is ancient culture

which has stood test of time

  • @rainnyourvoice

    totaly agee with you!!!

this song is, and this poem is juste divine... i learen this language only with talat and rafi s songs

    this is awesome!!

  • ये हवा ये रात ये चादनी तेरी एक नज़र पे निसार है

    मुझे क्यों न हो तेरी आरजू

    तेरी जुफ्त्जू में बहार है.

  • @achalkumar44 You are so right.. I just cannot understand how it became so.

  • @achalkumar44 lovely song !!! I am unable to understand its wordings(lyres) will you help me to translate this song in Hindi/English

  • compliment you on your treasure chest of

    Talat Mahmood songs. Haunting melody

    lyrics like gems, brilliant composition,

    immaculate singing, pure pleasure.

  • My favorite song

Talat Sahb has the sweetest voice <3

  • One of my most favorite songs of Talat Mehmood sahib.

"tujay kiya khabar ay o baykhabar"

    what a lovely song.

  • teri ik nazar mein jo asar he

    uski tujhay khabar nehin he

Phool ki kali ka khumar teri ankon mein wah, wah, kia dhun he sarnaghi and tablah.!!

  • wonderful song. Note the striking similarity in tune to Madan Mohan's composition for Aakhri Dao, Tujhe Kya Sunaoon mai Dilruba, sung by Rafi Sahab

  • Yes indeed. I do not know which appeared first.

Madan Mohan never pilfered music. So, the mystery continues

  • Ye hawa ye raat came first. Apparently, Sajjad Hussain, who was known for his undiplomatic ways, confronted Madan Mohan after the other song came out. I do agree, Madan Mohan was one of the most original and melodious composers of an era that was peppered with musical giants.

  • great talat the ever love for my talat mahmood and his songs, voice and ghazals

  • Class.

  • So much sadness in this song, I cry every time I listen to this song. Nobody has more depth than Talat when he sings his songs. Just a great singer, simply irreplaceable.

  • Sadness?? ITs supposed to a deep romantic song.. He is praising his love here.... And says that when all the elements are notihng compared to you, how can i be not want u...

  • Talat Sa'ab ,, Salaam !! But doesnt sound like him when he was young , may be Age has shown it's shadow.

  • fools this is NOT Talat's voice

  • whose voice is it then?

  • I am not a swami i cannot tell whoose voice this is .its NOT talat. His voice has a melodious quiver, clear notes his lower notes are low the sa(or sum) of the original Talat recording is lower. Talats son's web page and get it right Meanwhile its a unforgivable ...to masquerade a musical genious' voice by audio synchronisation i want to slap the felo whos doing this. Those who know Talat's unmistakable vibrant tiltillating voice please come to my aid please and lets get this right
