great skate but it really doesn't have the durability that i had hoped for. ive been using them for this season only and the boot has already ripped in multiple places
I have Bauer one100s right now but the boot cracked. Love the skates, best pair I've ever had. Looking to change it up and go to ccm, how much of a difference would I feel between the CLs and the one100s?
@TheDapantz The Crazy Lights are a little lighter and will have a wider forefoot compared to the One100's. Both are solid skates and top performers from each brand. The Bauers are a pretty consistent fit throughout the skate but the CCM is gonna go from a narrower heel to a wider forefoot. Both are going to have a traditional stance.
i bought theese yesterday, in quite a hurry because our seasons first training starts tommorrow.. and i wonder is tis a good skate if i am used 2 have a realy soft "old school" skate before? PS: realy nice review... as always!
hey i have these skates and i love them . but they came with a set of rocket runneres and i work at a hockey shop and they wont sit in the holder we use to hold the skate to sharpen the steel. how can i sharpen the rocket runner steel??
@jpaulb20 That is a great question. I have to say I really don't know. Maybe take them to another rink's machine? This is the first time i've heard of this problem, but I can see why it happens. Maybe CCM has an idea. Give them a call- 800-451-4600.
Hey Tyson - Are there advantages to putting the tuuk holders on the crazy light skate? In your opinion is it worth it? Which tuuk setup would you recommend? Thanks
@kjsjzl There isn't really any advantage to using the TUUK holders. I wouldn't really recommend switching the holders because you may need to drill in new holes for the new holder, which could weaken the outsole. Also, the E-Pro holders are specifically designed for the CCM skates to give the pitch of the skates that is intended.
@adamski895RS I would try tying them a bit looser right where you are getting the lace bite. That might alleviate it just enough. Otherwise, you could try the Lace Bite Pads we sell on our site.
I have always used the Vapor line from Bauer, but due to a change from Bauer to CCM/Reebok by our team, i'm not allowed to use Bauer anylonger. To make the U+ CL skates as close to the Vapors as possible, i've custom made som changes. U can stiff up the outside and inside regions of the skate, as well as change the thongue. If you do this it wont be as much of a change to go from Bauer to CCM. Its also a plus that when u custommake your skates, u can add colours and player number to it as well !
I've had grafs all my life and only one pair of CCM V10. And i'm looking at getting these. Are these good skates. Or grafs a better choice. Thanks, Kevin
@stickmagic13 Personally I've never owned Grafs. Graf has so many models, and If you find the right model for you It can be a great skate. I will say that my 2 favorite skates this year are the Bauer One100 and U+Cl. I also think this is the best CCM line out to date so if your hesitant, don't be.
@indierektmusick Possible yes, but it probably won't mold much more, if at all. I wouldn't really recommend it as it will lessen the life of the skates.
@wizard795 Just get something that fits well and it should be supportive. Typically as you move up in a line of skates, the higher you go the stiffer the skate is.
@willpower31 I would say the Easton EQ line fits more similarly to the U+ CL. The S17 is probably on of the most stiff skates available. I would say an S17 skate has a low cut like a Bauer Vapor model combined with a stiffness similar to a Bauer Supreme model.
@AManInAWheelchair There are several differences from fit to materials used. But both are around the same level of skate. I would base it off which one fits your foot better.
these skates are possibly the worst skates I have ever worn. They are EXTREMELY stiff...and they just hurt my feet all over! Maybe it's just because they don't fit my foot properly, but these skates stink!!!
@rocketshot5 We are currently selling the skates or $599.99 and the shipping for ice skates to most parts of Canada wouldn't be more than $50. Through us you could get the skates for about $650.
@19saxman91 Both are great skates, it would just come down to personal preference. I would probably go with the One100 if it were my choice, but the CL is really light which is a great feature.
@998uzi Just go to any LHS that sells the crazy lights and they will take care of you. I would call around and just ask if the stores will do it before actually going in, and make sure to get a price for the custom.
@mrmagic620550 I like both and it depends on what fits you better. For prices check out our retail site (URL in the vid). We also offer free return shipping if you want to try both skates on.
Great vids. One question, for an 11 year old size 3.5, would you suggest this or the u+12, at the junior sizes is the increase in price really worth it.
@anthony0803 At the level I don't think the upgrade would really be necessary especially since they will probably grow out of them pretty quickly. I would save the money for now, and go with the more advanced skates down the road.
@icehockeywarehouse i agree if you want to get them you should wait till you around 15-16 if you are actually a good player there too much money for just any ordinary hockey player.
IMO:Not bad I had them on my old U+ skates and now on my CL skates. They stay sharp longer and if you have to replace them it won't cost that much money. Makes the skate lighter.
The yellow inserts you have mentioned are custom made. They are authorized for players endorsed to wear the total 100s but like the ccm skate better. Kind of like the players using painted s19 sticks to look like Bauer sticks. People have to realize some of these players make almost as much in endorsements as they do with their playing contract.
@anthony0803 The money they make is no where close to there contracts and is almost meaningless to some of think ex: Henrik Zetterberg and east or Malkin and Bauer and they were major poster boys for both of those companys
If you buy online you can bake them in your oven. Use hockey tape on your foot build it up on spots that hurt. Cut a sock use the front part of the cut sock over your skate sock if the skate is not wide enough. Bake the skate first try it on if you have problems after it has been baked. @sr016ify I don't think I could get the total one's because i've been cursed with small feet and I don't think they have the total one's in a junior size. but if you have more info on that it would be great.
You won't happen to be able to tell me if this skate has got a less stiff tongue than Bauers one95? I'm finding it hard to flex forward enough with those and is considering trying these.
And while I'm at it, I used to skate in CCM Vectors, and that fit was so nice, but they kinda fell apart(...) and now I'm wondering how big difference there is to the fir? I know it's supposed to be baked and all that, but the general shape of the skate? Big difference?
Do these skates have an aggressive stance like the vapor skates? I've noticed that the tendon guard looks slightly tilted forward and I thought it might put you more leaning forward.
wait till you are eighteen you'll be in higher compition hockey and your feet will slow down on growing then buy some nice skates but now just get a 200 pair

@sr016ify I don't think I could get the total one's because i've been cursed with small feet and I don't think they have the total one's in a junior size. but if you have more info on that it would be great.

The tongue isn't quite as stiff, so you should be able to get more flex. The fit is going to be nearly identical to the Vector line.

is the skate lighter than the u+ pro reloaded?
Huet2008 1 year ago
You won't happen to be able to tell me if this skate has got a less stiff tongue than Bauers one95? I'm finding it hard to flex forward enough with those and is considering trying these.
And while I'm at it, I used to skate in CCM Vectors, and that fit was so nice, but they kinda fell apart(...) and now I'm wondering how big difference there is to the fir? I know it's supposed to be baked and all that, but the general shape of the skate? Big difference?
Thanks.

Do these skates have an aggressive stance like the vapor skates? I've noticed that the tendon guard looks slightly tilted forward and I thought it might put you more leaning forward.
