Stone age technology! This whole industry is based on such solutions that only contributes to escapes, spread of parasites / pathogens and destroys the seabed with waste chemicals, drugs and feces from the fish! I assume that you do not approve this comment because self-knowledge is something you do not speak!
There must be a big pile of fish feces under those cages? if that is not pollution what is it?
with all respect, it is just my opinion. By the way i love to fish and eat Atlantic Salmon, i just think that farming them in the Bay of Fundy could bring problems in our water??? Once again, just my opinion.
@yveskc Fish farms are regulated, and each farm can only stock an amount of fish depending on tidal flow, depth and the make up of the bottom. Also the bottom is sampled at max biomass, and before fish are re-stocked. If the tests do not meet government standards, the farm can not be restocked and a fallow period is needed. It does us no good to over impact a farm lease. To me, fish feces are like cattle manure on the range. (Fertilizer:). Under a fish farm is teaming with life.
How in the hell is it going to destroy the rivers when they are raised in the BAY OF FUNDY lol. The cages are not near any rivers and IF the salmon get disease it just affects the other salmon on that site. Never heard of them destroying the ocean LOL.
i think this method is the perfect way to destroy our rivers. Lets say those salmon get a disease, its gonna spread all over the river... the disease will not be contained in them cages? Everybody knows what happens with mass production! (mass destruction follows not far behind).
@yveskc Alaska pumps out 1.5 billion farmed salmon into the pacific a year yveskc. do you think there would be "(mass destruction follows not far behind)." ?

Nothing wrong with this farm at all. Alaska has been farming salmon since the late 60's. After all, if the Americans do it, then it is all ok right?
