There are 3 flights/day under part 121, which necessitates the TSA crap. This is a VERY BUSY airport with over 150 flights per day, including a lot of military flights. A lot of the money for the airport came from DoD. A lot comes from private sources. Again, this news piece is total horse shit.

i used to work at a SMALL local airfield that had mostly privately owned aircraft(single and twin piston engine). they were/are a small reliever strip for buffalo/Niagara international airport. anyways, they would have more activity on a given day. on spring and summer days their would be allot of activity. my point is, to make an investment like this in an airport that has less traffic then a small privately owned airfield is nuts.

I'm in! I only pay 20k plus/yr in federal income tax. But when you add the state income tax, sales tax, personal property tax, utilities taxes, vehicle taxes, fuel taxes, user taxes and government fees there's not much left for pleasure because of the sin taxes on that! i used to work at a SMALL local airfield that had mostly privately owned aircraft(single and twin piston engine). they were/are a small reliever strip for buffalo/Niagara international airport. anyways, they would have more activity on a given day. on spring and summer days their would be allot of activity. my point is, to make an investment like this in an airport that has less traffic then a small privately owned airfield is nuts.

Jim DeMint offered an amendment on Thursday. 9-17-09 in regard to STOP funds going to this airport. IT FAILED on a 53-43 vote.
Five Dems voted against it while two Republicans voted for it. That would be Bond of Missouri and Voinovich of Ohio.

I regularly drive past this "airport." Usually there's an advertisement playing on the radio for the airport as I pass. I've often wondered who paid for that ad... Well I didn't really wonder, I knew it was me (& you). The man behind this is as despicable as the actual waste of funds (and real estate) itself.
Murtha is a walking endorsement of the need for term limits. He hails from an area brain washed by unions and even those are now leaving ruin. When will these zombies wake up?

this is as bad as the bank/wall st bailouts. Johnstown's own city government is BROKE. UNEMPLOYMENT is HIGH. DRUGS everywhere. Foreclosures ALL over the city. Johnstown was once a great city to live in......now it is "distressed" like many cities and towns across the nation. To spend this kind of money on this airport over and over and over and over is enough.

I live in the state with the MOST children under four years of age living in poverty. Yes I'm ashamed of it and yes all the main politicians are Democrats. Were just an average state of 3 million. From where I sit, 150 Million feeds, clothes, and educates a lot of children under four. WTF? I wonder if Murtha considers if his moral compass as more divine than the Marines he falsely accused. This is why we need term limits and the thoughts of wanting them in our free society sickens me.

This is CRIMINAL. I live in a city that has had to CUT 1/2 OF ITS POLICE FORCE becuase they do not have enough money to cover payrol do to the budget... And a WAIST of an airport that does not even mater gets THIS MUCH money? WHAT! OBABA SAID HE WAS ALL BIG ON EDUCATION AND EVERYTHING.
This is crazy people. I dont know what is going on but I am thinking THE PEOPLE need to call for a revolution.
