  • @MusicManAustralia I can't get it to work, when I select any of the top three options from the main menu I just end up at a controls screen and I can't get past it... :S

  • @xLiamFielding I stated facts about the video game industry. I was making the point that there are no open games apart from some procedurally generated ones. That is not an opinion, that is fact. Next time, think before you try to defend someone criticizing a developer's work. Next time don't call me an ass hole and expect to get away with it. I don't see you working your ass off on a game that the community can enjoy.

  • First, I'd like to say Bravo, good job. And second, did you use scripts or logic to control the car? If you did not use scripts, could you either explain the car's logic in a short video, or simply Message me and let me know how you perfected the car's movement?

  • um... how come when you go through the glass it doesn't shatter, it just dissapears?

  • @lyingpancake95 because shatter animations are complicated, and maybe time restrictions caused them to not be able to do it.

  • There isn't a game in the world that isn't closed course. Some are just more open than others. Ever played a racing game? They usually race on a track, which is a closed course.

  • @Rodhs72 Well what do you expect? This is an amateur game made without the use of money. Imagine yourself making a game like this. It's not like you have a £50 000 budget to make a PS1, and this guy doesn't.

  • These were placeholder graphics. To just check out my other videos to see the real graphics. I'm pretty sure PS1 games did not have bloom, depth of field and ssao. Nor did PS2 games for that matter.

  • @spewboy2 Only few select games had bloom, and depth of field. As far as I'm aware.

  • Shadow of colossus had bloom and HDR.It was for PS2

  • the textures look a little to big to be a ps1 game. this is pretty good for blender.

  • It was my friend's idea. Originally we planned to have burning tyres but we ran out of time to actually include that feature in the game itself.

  • how do you parent the camera in such a way that it doesn't follow the veichle completely?

  • I think there's an actuator you can apply before parenting that can do it.

  • davik1991 is right. In the logic bricks section make a camera actuator and tell it to follow your car object. Then link it up to an always sensor :)

  • What's wrong with you people? Can't you seriously do anything without "tutorials" or "guides"!? You are so deeply dependant on tutorials that when you see a game you assume that it's made with tutorials! It's seriously not that hard.

  • Yeah, it's where I get most of my texture resources from. That one was pretty much just slapped right on in a rush. Now all of my textures have been edited a great deal for the game. And Thanks :)

  • Yes. The airbase was still in a concept stage and I hadn't actually modelled it or textured it, that is just a placeholder. The airbase is completed now and a demo of it will be available in a few days.

  • Well I wasn't thinking of the warehouse tileset in Crashday when I made this. Everything you see in this video is very old now. The warehouse has been completely remodeled and so has the car.

  • This video is very outdated. Check the rest of my videos for my current progress in this game. The game is now titled Burning Rubber.

  • The arena is a warehouse, which I modeled from scratch. Its not really very impressive. It may look a bit like the one in the fps template on the net. More videos will be uploaded soon with previews of the new and improved warehouse, GLSL shaders (including HDR lighting) and better physics. The car now has gears and manual gear shifting.

    Thanks for the glass tip. I tried it but I wasn't sure how to do it properly so the glass wouldn't fall out straight away :P

  • the game is shaping up now, it has a track and a loading screen :)

  • instead of makig the glass dissapear , have it enable pyhsics on it when it collides
