@boru25 Well his nickname is Red Cyclone. The only time he is referred to as Tornado Roja is during El Fuerte's rival cutscene with Zangief. This is probably because this is what he is called in Mexico or something. But his real nickname is in fact The Red Cyclone.

@Jowain92 Jaguar tooth can be caught by the Siberian Blizzard (which can be pulled off before Zangief stands up after a knock down, meaning he'll just fly right up and catch you. I've done it a few times to Honda when he went for that butt stomp.) I'm sure. Anything that takes your feet off the ground can connect with the SB. I'm really wondering why everyone resorts to spamming when fighting a Zangief players but they label Zangief and his players as the cheap ones.

@Drakulbites I agree, but I only start spamming when I get pissed off, otherwise I rather play as Dee Jay (With Climax Beat as ultra!). What annoys me is that almost every player takes Ryu, Ken and Akuma online matches. if thats not a cheap choice then I don't know what is.

@Jowain92 I think I know what you mean. Do you mean you'll spam if you lose the first round after fighting fair? A lot of people do that to. If I beat them after a fair fight, the next round is just spamville and if it's not, by the time they get low health, it is. I'm ok with people in D/D+ rank taking Ryu/Ken because they are clearly just starting out but after getting them to C, I think it's time to move on. Being good with Ryu is like being good at cycling with the training wheels on, IMO.

@Zain844 I've read this alot and I really can't understand it. I'm a Zangief player (B rank in SSFIV) and Zangief is far from cheap. He cannot hit you at all unless he is right next to you, he's slow and he's a massive target. If you want to talk "cheap" try the Akumas/Ibukis that just jump back and throw things down to him or the Dhalsims/Seths that sit at the other end of the screen and just stretch their arms out to hit him. Alot of moves beat his moves & usually knock him across the screen.

@Drakulbites That's the thing Whenever I go up against a really good Zangief player i have to use a character that can shoot projectiles like Ryu, Sagat Sakura or Akuma but say if i try and beat him using someone like Abel or C Viper I get OWNED because he's really deadly at close range (atleast i think so) and i'm a Akuma player (A rank) I'm so fucking cheap when I'm Akuma People online HATE ME lol

@Zain844 I'm betting I've fought online at some point then, if you use XBL. The only Akumas I ever get are spammers. Spamming isn't doing you any favours because you'll never improve as a player. Why not take a little time to fight Zangief in Versus set to hardest? Try some things, improve your use of characters against him. Without spamming, you'll feel much more satisfied winning against him online and guys like me wont feel we've basically been cheated out of a win.

@Drakulbites I feel quite staisfied being able to beat players who boast about how they've mastered a character's every move. Only to be beaten by someone who simply did one move over and over again. I get a really good laugh out of it! . I once beat a B rank Zangief player (maybe it was you) with Cody and i used nothing but throws and criminal uppers. I have fought Zangief on hardest and I was able to beat him using Sagat or Sakura without spamming. but spamming online is very fun!

It's one of those old stereotypes about how harsh the winter climate is in Russia. During the times of Old Europe, Russia wasn't very developed, and most of it's citizens were peasants, and the cold climate (a lot worse for Europeans of the time, who were not as well equipped for it) meant the work would be very hard, which lead to the stereotype of the grizzled, muscular Russian. It spread from there.
