  • "Excellent news...MWAHHHAAA!!"

  • matt bayton the only guy that can make an old man HOT :P

  • ooh its a he!

  • what bugs me is how Knox didn't notice that the bodies Burke and Hare gave him were people who were murdered. I mean, you'd think it's rather hard to make a body that was killed look like it dies of natural causes, and Knox did study them whole (so no way to hide e.g. a stab mark)... unless they had some superpoison that left no marks? *confused*

  • @nthgreen87 The first person was old and died of natural causes, but then they saw how much they could make and started killing. Then most of the murders were done by suffocation, often after getting the person drunk, and the first couple were already sick or elderly, which could have been seen as reason for death. Then one was a blind boy whose back they broke (they could have said that he fell or something).. I don't think they would have got away with it if there weren't other possibilities:)

  • @oohdear1397 aha! thanks for explanation :D

  • @nthgreen87 No problem :) It is a completely barking story - strange to think it actually happened :P

  • 'Woh, but whiffy..' xD

  • I think he does a great Knox

  • Love scottish Horrible history!

  • loved proving the teacher wrong "Burke and hare were famous for grave robbing!, no they weren't grave robbery implies the guy was dead first!

  • bit whiffy but still much to learn

  • nice how they didn't arrest Knox. he didn't know the bodies were murdered. *epic clap* he helped the medical research learn new things. owo

  • 2:14 KITTY

  • We learnt about surgery and cadavers in history today, I knew about Burke and Hare and was able to correct the teacher because of this song.

    HH rocks! ;)

  • My last name is Burke...should I be worried??

  • @cleavacarrot1 Yes. By dint of having the same name as a murderer u are instantly related! >:D

  • @cleavacarrot1 Why? You didn't do anything wrong, right? You should be proud that you might have an ancestor that helped (if only slightly and in an odd way) medicine and biology evolve. (I would also be like 'Cool! I mifht be related to a mass murderer' but that's just me...)

  • @BooksAreMyBlood haha thankyou :-)

  • @cleavacarrot1 No prob! ^.^

  • @cleavacarrot1 well yes since u just told everyone ur last name - not good

  • is it odd matt still looks so hot old

  • @the21stturtle Yeah, I saw it wasn't it on the other night?

  • 2:28 creeps me out...

  • I have to study a murderer for school and it's a toss up between Burke and Hare or Sweeney Todd. This one is most likely 'cos there's a HH song about it.

  • @TheHannarrgh do burke and hare because sweeny tod wasnt real. He was just a penny dreadful

  • Me: Can I have your job? I want my daily bread ^^

Robert: Oh Sure! my back hurts from cutting

    Me: Wait.

    Robert: What?

    Me: Do you get drink?

    Robert: No.

Me: IM NOT HAVING YOUR JOB THEN.

    Robert: Aww

  • @232bluewings yeh i heard about that but i'm not actually that bothered. i mean i'm 14 and he's 30 so nothing could happen anyway so i don't really get bothered by that (bet the baby's a right cutie though) he's still nice to look at though lol :D

  • fuck you mat you got me in this mess

  • 2:13 funny cat it looks just like mine lolz

  • 1:19-1:20 creepy...

  • @hoolago

Hey... You can't stop him from doing both at the same time ;) lol

  • @Bayntonettxx Hey you and @Hoolago are right! Matt seems like a generally quiet and down to earth person that maybe he doesn't expect and particularly want people saying "He's hot" )which i agree to by the way)but it doesn't mean he jusy wants people telling him what they've learnt, I know people are trying to stick up for him but just leave the argument and think about how Matt wouldn't like you to be arguing over him. Its your opinions but just let this go! :)

  • SHUT UP ABOUT MATT BEING HOT. HES DOING THIS TO TEACH PEOPLE HISTORY NOT YOU STUPID AMERICANS SAYING OOOOO HES HOT AND SEXY THATS NOT WHAT HE WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU HE WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU THAT YOUVE LEARNT HISTORY AND LIKE THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @hoolago i am not a stupid american thanks! i'm a clever brit and i still think he's hot

  • @hoolago Calm the fuck down XD

  • @hoolago chill out... We are allowed an opinion you know... and we arent all american.... I think you're just jealous.... and spell his name right please... Its MAT not MATT....

  • @hoolago im english and he is fit as fuck :D

  • MATT IS STILL HOT AS A OLD MAN !!!

  • 2:16, matt damon cat

  • William Burke is my ancestor.

  • @CastroMaoist1956 sucks to be your great great grandpa then

  • @CastroMaoist1956 Oh, that must be quite a burden, but as my mother once said: Nobody can chose his/her kinfolk.

  • 1:24 - 1:28 ... is creepy, Matt is the best xD

  • i love the fact that he sings a bit behind the music, it really bigs up the "old dude" act

  • this is rather disturbing, even for horrible histories! still brilliant though

  • this gave my nightmares when i first saw it lol...ohhh and thanks for putting it up i can't find it on the cbbc website

  • =D!

  • 5 new cadavers have been brought to Robert Knox's lab

  • One mistake: Knox didn't get Burke on his table. Alexander Monro of Edinburgh Medical College got the honor of dissecting Burke, and wrote a short message in Burke's blood. (thanks Wikipedia)

  • @Fetch26291

but u can't always be sure if most of the facts on a wikipedia are genuine, unless u find it several other sites and their all saying the same thing, only than u can be 100% sure.

  • @LiNaOsUlLiVaN horriblehisstorries is real and all true

  • @Callumwallace2001

    lolz i didn't say it was....O.O

  • @LiNaOsUlLiVaN Wikipedia is checked and also is NOT as open to editing as it was when it started. They claim 90% accuracy, the SAME as the hard copy Encyclopedias do. And much more than school textbooks.

  • @Fetch26291 Wikipedia is quite rubbish when it comes to facts.

  • really?!!! and the surgeon couldn't see the corpses were of murdered people!!!

  • @heahashemi 1827. Most surgeons were only just figuring out how people died. Also, Burke and Hare's MO was to smother their victims. Even today, telling someone was suffocated is difficult.

  • Did anyone else notice

'I said i would have her'

    Lifts sheet over

    'Oh it's a he' O.o hahaha

  • @TOLLIE3398 yes, congrats for pointing out the obvious.

    jk

  • @Casparrowrox I generally do point out the obvious;) hahaha.

  • @TOLLIE3398 I'm glad you took it as a joke, other's dont :| but still :)

  • @Casparrowrox Well I wasn't gonna be one of those people with no lives sitting on for hours arguing. And you did put jk. :)

  • @TOLLIE3398 You're cool :)

  • @Casparrowrox So are you! :D

  • its nice but soo creepy !!! D:

  • HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think the writers are implying that Knox was well aware of the source of his cadavers, making him an accessory.

  • @strangeyoungman I think it was more "Don't ask questions." which makes it easier when in that line of work.

  • 2.15

    hee hee its a cat

  • gotta luv 'em

  • Shouldn't it be Robert Kock

  • 5 people like the film

  • ''OH! its a he'' lol

  • lol at dr knox's evil laugh :D

  • would you like to slice this up to see how corpses work? Haha! my favorite line!

  • I love this and there's a brilliant irony that Simon Farnaby, the guy playing Burke has a little cameo in Burke and Hare as William Wordsworth. Also, I think the film should win an award for how many awesome people can you cram into an hour and a half of film :D

  • Karma's a pain at times lol

  • Horrible Histories is great for kids, my son loves it, think he gets that from his dad as he is into all that gory stuff :) He’s just ordered an interesting looking documentary about Burke and Hare after finding a video for it on here – it’s called “The Body Merchants”. Looks like it is meant for an adult audience though.

  • :D :D :D

  • lol mr hare should be cooked on a fire and eaten

  • @jedasaurus Actually a fitting end for a killer to be given to the place that you made your profession out of.

  • Matt is hot (even though he is dressed as an old man) !

  • I love this video!

Wouldn't you be a bit scared if 2 random men apperared in your window with a dead body?

  • just saw burke and hare the film really goodxxxxxxxxxx

  • um...why is there a cat at 2:16??!

  • "Up the close and down the stair,

In the house with Burke and Hare.

Burke's the butcher, Hare's the thief,

Knox, the boy who buys the beef."

  • @AngelOfTheCrows i like that rhyme, wheres it from??

  • 'Ang on there.... is that Matt Smith bent double there?

  • "Well it's always a palaver, gettin hold of a Cadaver"

    I am LOL-ing!!

  • Even as a teen with great history teachers, you learn a lot from Horrible Histories! Love it. xx

  • I'm Mr Burke, I'm Mr Hare

    How do you do?

    Funny.....

    I LOVE HORRIBLE HISTORIES!!!!

  • I watched Burke and hare last night on DVD with Simon Pegg in it and it was amazing I loved it so funny and then the wife got in it and helped them and Burke gave himself up for love said something really nice before he was hung and then suddenly the man pulled the latch and everyone cheered I loved it when the girls put on an all girl production of Macbeth! Lexy

  • He reminds me of Undertaker from Black Butler. TEEHEE.

  • @LadyMomoPhantomhive

    Same here! XD

His name is really similar to Ronald Knox's name as well.

  • why is there a black cat randomly there?

  • What kind of shitty autopsy his doing that he can't tell that those are not natural causes.

  • @Mikelp79 It's implied; ever hear of irony?

  • @Mikelp79

Well the thing is, at the time of Burke and Hare, Doctors were only allowed to use criminal's corpses for science. Doctors tended to turn a blind eye to the cause of death because bodies were so scarce.

  • @Mikelp79 If you could do any better, make a Youtube video and try and get 101,483 views with 309 likes.

  • 4 people were burned by the irony at the end

  • the guy who plays hare in this is really chilling and different to the more funny characters he's played in other sketches/ songs

  • @cuddlesxxxx hawt hawt hawt he is lush

  • not the job u would really want, mmmm yummy, guts and bladders?

  • Why was Hare let free when he killed hundreds of people with Burk? He should have been hanged with Burk.

  • @Quanktomspirit Well back then there was no forensics or DNA and there was not sufficent evidence that they had comited any crime.

And they where caught in late 1828 there was no police force untill september 1829 just a sort of Town guard thing.

And Burke wrote a confesion saying that Knox knew nothing about the murders and that he forced hare to help him and threatened to kill him.

Its belived Hare lived out the rest of his life as a tramp but ..

  • @thebritish25 Forensics came later on. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle studied medicine in Edinburgh under one of the pioneers of forensics (whose name escapes me at the moment). This experience in turn inspired Conan Doyle to write the brilliant stories of Sherlock Holmes.

  • @Quanktomspirit its not confrmed as he just disapeared after he was released in Feb 1829 As burke confesed he also testfied against burke.

And just so you know they killed 17 not 100.

  • Why was Hare let free when he killed hundreds of people?

  • @cuddlesxxxx I totally agree -

  • @cuddlesxxxx thanks hes awesome i always laugh when he does stupid deaths

  • He looks so crazy at the last part when he is sharpening his knife

  • whats that dudes (mr burke) real name? hes my fav out of the whole cast

  • I've just watched the new Burke and Hare film and the acter who plays Burke in this had a minor part in the film.

  • @Skylady26 I noticed too! Simon Farnaby was William Wordworth, right? x

  • @ShatteredxSpiritx Yeah thats right

  • @Skylady26 both of them were in it actually

  • HAH! That's hilarious. A bit of poetic justice at the end, even. ^w^

  • I like this song. I don't wanna see the new film based on Burke and Hare 'cos I think it's wrong to make light of what they did. But this song tells it how it is.

  • i saw that movie :P twas a goodun ;)

  • haha ha exelent new hahahahaha!!!

  • is it wrong for me to use kids programs like this for my GCSE medicine through time piece? lol im 15 and i still love it! xxx

  • Awsome

  • The knife grinding sounds disgusting

  • ive just watched the film! id never heard of them tilll this song!

  • Oh its a he! *winks* lmao!

  • Learning should always be fun. If you can't make it fun you're a bad teacher.

This show is good comedy in its own right. Maybe if we had more things like this kids wouldn't see learning as a boring or nerdy thing.

  • one slight inaccuracy here, this was 1827 so George IV was king, this was still georgian times

  • FURCKIN AWESOME. Accurate, entertaining and catchy.

  • matt is such a brilliant actor!

  • @FlyBirdBanana the actor who's singing the song is called Mathew Baynton

  • Wow

  • Wow! He got old fast! x
