Personally I'd have had Open Range, Grosse Pointe Blank, and Predator in my Top 10...but I don't think anyone can seriously argue with your Top 3. Hands down the most thrilling and memorable.

Decent list, I don't agree with Terminator though, while a great film, it's not rly known for it's great shootouts, there are some good firefighs, agreed, but nothing top 10 worthy. And I would also put Heat at number one, and Hard Boiled at number 2. But I respect your opinion, I just disagree with some of your choices.

I'm not a fan of Wanted. When I watch movies where the bad guys can't hit the ground in front of their feet while the good guys can circumcise a gnat with a bullet, it just feel like lazy writing to me. Double that if the mooks are supposed to be "elite." Heat is a good example of doing it right. Most of the shots miss their targets and the only really one-sided fight happens when cops carrying pistols try to fight against crooks armed with rifles.

I like it but one of the criteria s should have been realism the first three are such bullshit. The terminator is realist because of the rules of the film i.e he is a robot who cant be harmed by bullets. Heat would have been great because the bank robbery was very realistic.

good choices... indeed you forgot some nice shooting movies, but still, a good list... anyway, that scene from HEAT is the best shooting scene i ever saw, because its so close to the truth man, very realistic, epic scene... The lobby scene from Matrix is one of the best too, and the first rated, i forgot the name, is very good also... but indeed, scarface´s end and untouchables (the stair scene) deserved a place.

I think the terminator one can be slightly realistic, now hear me out, not so much a robot going in killing cops but does anyone remember a shootout in I think 97? in LA? it was a bank heist and the criminals pretty much out manned and out did the cops till the end. It was one of the worst shootouts against the cops and I think their were only two robbers

Those two retards didnt kill a single police officer even though they had high capacity assualt rifles that could tear through body armor. They were fighting from defensive positions not storming through the cops like the terminator. As soon as they tried to leave they were killed. It is a terrible example for what you are trying to say. Its amazing they are so glorifed even though they did nothing but get killed.

@IronManOfficialguy Yeah, he was probably thinking of that LA shootout, but a better example would have been the Miami FBI shootout in the 1980s where the FBI had a hellacious gun battle with 2 heavily-armed psychos. The FBI were definitely outgunned and the gunfight led to sweeping changes to procedures and weaponry in FBI rank and file. The psychos were killed, but they took 2 or 3 agents with them. The incident was chronicled in "The FBI Murders" - excellent movie.

While back there used to be computer (video) games called run'n'gun (chaos engine springs to mind), Wanted apparently exemplfies this in film form...I wish they made a Chaos Engine film.
