It seems like most animations don't make sense and are there just to show off :( That's the thing that many interface designers can't seem to grasp: animations that Apple usually does are there not just to show off, but to actually make it possible where to or where from things go, they are cues to the user to show what he needs to do to achieve the needed result.
In this case, most of the animations have no purpose at all.
well i try to do my best u sucker, but i dont mind what u say, mi idioma es español, tu tiene nombre de latino o algo asi, alegrate por ti k lo hablas bien mamaguevo
it makes the iphone look REALLY boring and dated!
btw
apple did not invent touch screens... and so what if they did, they use a mouse, and they did not invent that either... that does not mean they are eternally copy cats. sheesh, technology changes all the time, so get over the idiotic and desperate chanting.
It's not all taken care of as of yet. Mobile Kiddos don't seem to bother about the 256mb app-space debacle on the Motorola Droid YET (they will soon enough), but i do. The question here is.. how much internal storage will the Rachael offer? If its less than 1 GB app-space, then SE can keep their device, then the hell to Google, the hell to Android, and i'm getting a Nokia N900.
you talking about the same N900 with a resistive screen? bahhahaha don't get me wrong, I think the n900 is great but the resistive screen is a BIG downer whatever they say. And hows the app scene on the maemo anyways? Although at the end of the day apps are just an excuse for me, but always end up being a comparison point these days.
1st, it's capacitive, not captive. so you are saying slimmer finger nails are not accurate compared to flat fingers? how is using fingers more accurate? you can't control your device when you are at Canada or other cold places with your gloves on with capacitive. My question is, have you tried newer resistive screen? they are as responsive as capacitive screen does plus you could operate it with pressure. So i prefer resistive technology.
I have yet to come across a resistive screen that can compare with the quality of usage I receive from my ipot. I live in the northern part of Sweden and keep my nails short. I can't use a touchscreen with my nail without taking of my gloves (when I'm outside, ofc), and even so I'd rather have that crappy song play through than having to freeze my hands of, trying to switch song. Could you please school me in the art of navigating a resistive screen with gloves on.
so, you have an iPod with CAPACITIVE screen (that requires skin to work and doesn't work with anything inorganic) and you prefer it to a resistive screen that you can use with gloves?
i don't understand, why do you prefer to have a screen that you can't use with gloves in your cold area?
obviously you have no tried newer resistive screen. Hell, even my fingers are short, i could still press it. And you do know that you can operate with your lovely fingers with resistive screens right? Do you really need any educations on how to operate resistive screen with gloves on? If your gloves are too thick, that is why there is a Stylus built in.... good luck with using ipod in cold weather with your bare hands.... resistive would really help. trust me. i live in cold weather too.
lol well obviously he doesn't know anything. It's not like i'm trying to bash on how apple products are bad or anything, but looks like we have an apple fan boy who thinks capacitive is the king of everything b/c it is from apple. how ironic.
yeah, i can understand though. i mean, they did INVENT the touchscreen, and that "raised" keyboard that Sony stole, etc...
Apple are such 'innovators and inventors' that i can't really blame someone for appreciating how amazingly awesome Apple is wgile every other company is simply an imitator :)
well, I have used quite a few and so far don't like them over capacitive. And my itouch works over my leather bike gloves so thats a win again. Although i hear about someone coming out with a mix of resisitive and cap soon. That would be quite ideal i guess, coz sometimes i like the idea of having to put pressure for some button clicks. Btw when did this get into a war... shame every debate ends up totally dissing some tech
yes speaking of capacitive-resistive hybrid, HTC announced that in the future, they will have capacitive screen with resistive technology together. I thought that would be really good idea.
No. I am not a fan boy. My experiences with resistive screens have just been worse than those I have from capacitive. And about the cold weather thing. I did explain in my OP that it didn't work with neither type of screen, hence: "touchscreen". My gloves are way to thick to use with even a stylus. I don't even like using them anyway.
Another thing about the weather. I have dl'd a mod from cydia that lets you switch song with the buttons on the side. Yay for me :) And a device with resistive is bound to become thicker than one with capacitive. I enjoy thin and sleek gadgets. Could you give me an example of a great devise with resistive?
While it looks good on full screen, I wonder how it will look on a 3.5" screen and how much processor cycles will consume. Looking great but at what cost?
It's really amusing me when apple fanboys come and start arguing why everything but their phone sucks because of $something... Dudes, c'mon, accept that there are also other phones not made by apple.. Btw, I think this interface looks great (need to test it to be sure tho).
Uh, could you tell me which part exactly kills the iPhone? I see a media player app that is certainly a lot better than the standard Android media player, BUT readability is worse than on Apple's clean interface because SonyEricsson added a lot more album art and other clutter as well as a gradient blue background. I would prefer something in the middle, but for now Apple's interface seems better for day-to-day use.
The more I hear about this phone the more ready I am to move to Europe to make sure I get it. This thing sounds amazing, I can't wait for November 3rd!
This UI is fine if they change the blue background and change the play/next button wich are round for music to more elegant and sleek buttons

Wow, this is totally a jack off of the Zune HD interface. Only worse.

That's a lot of customization that SE has poured into the fone. Looks like a completely different OS. Looks like a winner to me.

I understand this is SE's customized UI but is anyone else thinking this may not be android at all?

But I can't find anything that officially says it is. It's just that the notification shade seems so radically different.

Not bad, WAY better the previous SE efforts, really stands out from the crowd with this. Best Android phone so far? We'll see I guess.

what makes you think resistive screen is downer??
chltmdwp 2 years ago
Why would it not be? When you're using a finger to poke around on the screen it's much more responsive and exact with a captive.
ChalleFoV2 2 years ago
