  • I lived with this guy in his final year at Uni in Manchester, England... good to see you've not changed Jimbo... stay well!

  • That must be some hell of a computer to be running 4 DAW's at the same time, everyone that has any experience with Pro Tools HD knows that its not uncommon for a crash haha, you would think that Avid would stop fucking around fter putting a good 10 g's into that damn rig, fuckn Slow Tools lol

  • Speakers on the table Fail

  • @altenArmin True.

  • @altenArmin those are the dyn-audio bm5a pretty decent for 1200 a pair , the new ones the mkii's are even better

  • @GUSTAV1CC No matter how good these Speakers are... If they are placed directly on the table, you have to deal with comb filtering.

Better to place them higher. This will bring them up to earlevel, wich is important as well.

  • hey , im new at this , so probably this is the stupid question ever ... but im just curious... what type of interfaces does hQ studios use? like do they use the digidesign regular racks ? or this consoles comes with interface? whats the speciall of this console, that you can´t do with the mix window of pro tools? (apart from being phisical)

  • @downsalas Would anyone like to answer this question because i also wonder how in "real" studios they go from the console/mixer into the computer with like 60 channels ...

  • @MRohmygodnoway Typically we use rackmounted interfaces that have analog XLR inputs and a firewore or fiber output that goes into the computer. Each interface typically handles 16 channels, and they can be daisy chained together with the fiber or firewire outputs of each connected to the input of the next interface. This configuration is repeated until the needed inputs/outputs of your mixer are met. Your number of inputs needed are determined by the number of sound sources recorded at once.

  • lol. this guy is really funny :)

  • amazing mixer

  • This guy is lucky

  • this guy isn't just lucky, but he's an awesome dude, great to talk to, i had the chance to have a beer with him not long ago.

  • analog and digital :)

  • ok im confused is it analog or digital he sais it has up to 32 imputs yet he says there are 5 banks

  • I can't believe this is $20K and the AWS900 is $80K. What a huge price difference. The Matrix saves a lot more space than the AWS900.

  • i know they have software that would emulate that monstrous device......

    but

why not just get actual hardware instead of usb nonsense

  • Hey Jim can you jailbreak the console for all that dam plasic

its as if the console is sitting down inside a block I get it ok but cmon ssl folks are not so dumb that they cant find where they are I mean the console is not large! Loose the HollyWood Squares!

  • there are ZERO MIC inputs on the SSL Matrix.

  • True but people being able to afford it will most likely have a nice collection of pre's anyway.

  • yea cause i want to spend 25k on a ssl summing mixer so I can play degraded i tunes back on my 5k genelec monitoring system that makes total sense

  • yeah seriously... give me a break!

  • Great burns mate ... great burns!!

  • haha, i didn't hear a word he said.... i was distracted by the sideys!

  • ok after all that why the hell is 8 faders held prisoner by the plastic wall between them. Do you not want the first 8 to see the other 8 is this a SSL Government issue East is seperated from west is there a way we can remove that plastic lift? it seems the console is sitting down inside the plastic walls

  • We're getting one for our studio instead of the AWS900. I saw a product demo for one yesterday - the board is beautiful! I can't wait to set it up and record on it.

  • yes 1 for me too!!

  • nice concept - but way to expensive ... € 20.000

  • yea i know, but aws-900 is 90,000, and the duality is even bigger (i don't know how much though... no sites tell you, it's ove $100,000 though!!)

  • the base price for Duality is $250,000

  • I'm getting one!! or... you can send me one for free??? Thanks e-mail me.

  • what in the fuck it's like 25 grand, yea for free you fucking moron
