the glitch works.if someone gives you a set of 45 eggs 12 times you get 540 eggs.youll get 1,080,000 gold.to get an egg,go to chapter 4-1 and flash the spiders till they drop a rotten egg.

There's a much easier way to do this. Find someone who had infinite eggs, make sure you don't have any in your inventory not even in the main one that holds everything you got in the game. Then kick the person, request Sheva to give you an egg, and keep doing it until you're bored. The awesome part about this is you can keep giving Sheva as many eggs as you want if you go back with you have the eggs. But I'd do this with Gold eggs because people are more likely to have those than Rotten.

This works with ANYTHING! Anything but weapons. I do this alot with magnum ammo because I'm still on chapter 5-3 but I have around 600 gold eggs and 500 magnum ammo just from this glitch.

If you want to find rotten eggs, they usually spawn in the Marshlands mission. Rotten eggs also spawn randomly by enemies in parts 6-1 until 6-3. Hope this helps.
