@mrsbelcher1987 AMEN I love the background music, it's so descriptive of what's going on in the movie. A few of the characters have their own themes. And yet all we get are the random songs sung in the middle of the movie. Not bad, but they're not exactly iconic (except for The Journey and The Rescue Aid Society Song).
I LOVED this movie so much and loved the soundtrack. Even though I grew up in the 90s, my mom always had 70s music playing, and this reminds me of my childhood and her.
Now in days every kid in chicago is all into the hip hop and R&B stuff. Not that is anything wrong with that but its songs like this can make the world a better place
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO SHOWS LIKE THESE? All the peace, the natural beauty in the art, the mature comedy, the sadness, the emotions, the happiness ALL GONE. ALL taken away by these most.. STUPID Disney shows with all that.. SINGING and crap. I swear on my ass I'd rather listen to this song a quadrillion times in my life than having to listen to quadrillion different tween "stars" on Disney. Maybe it'd be best for us to just boycott all these tweenies asses. Walter Disney would be PROUD.
I love the part where he walks his fingers over so his arm's around her. Cute, simple, and something that seems to be very much missing in today's world.
Shelby Flint was perfect for singing this. I also loved her performance for "Someone's Waiting For You," and "Do You Remember Me?" (from Snoopy Come Home)
I remember watching this movie when I was little too. I would be laying in a funny position on the couch with my sippy cup of chocolate milk sitting in my lap and my mom in the kitchen cooking lunch. I miss that simpleness. We were so naive and we didn't think about what was happening tomorrow or if so and so was texting us. It was just... how many fish sticks we were going to have for lunch or what our favorite color was. I specifically remember the Rescuers being a big part of my childhood <3
@Spiderinthedark Same thing for my childhood. Strangely enough, I just made my 8 year old lunch while he was watching the Rescuers. He loves this movie. Some things do live on.
to me, this song is about being in pajamas, past my bedtime, curled inside a blanket, on "Nana"s couch, fighting sleep, and straining to hear the movie over the adults conversation in the other room. man, those days.
I haven't heard this in years...it takes me back to rainy days with a miniature version of me sitting in front of the TV with my teddy bears and barbies lined up in a row, watching it with my dog when she was a puppy. Oh how I wish I could go back to those days <3
I've always loved how this song was played at sunset in the film; this song has been an inspiration in my film ideas and my music. I'll always be in love with this song.
Ah, such a soothing song. Totally makes me forget that a small child is stuck in the bayou against her will by a evil woman claiming to be her aunt and she wants her to find a priceless diamond....
All kidding aside, this is a nice song to one of my fav movies.
@Midlesexful it went to fast for me to see it but I belive you...even though disney makes great movies there always sneeking in nasty stuff even though its kids movies like tits, boners, and the word sex sooooo disney isn't all that inasint
A little fun fact: The title of this "Tomorrow is Another Day" was the original working title Margaret Mitchell had before she settled on the title of her landmark novel: Gone With the Wind. It's also Viven Leigh's (one of many) iconic lines in the movie version of Gone With the Wind.
Ah this takes me back, such a gorgeous soothing voice. When I first heard Joni Mitchell as a teenager, it reminded me of this song, and I just read on Wikipedia that Joni has cited Shelby Flint's early work as a big influence on her... it's funny how things go around in circles :)
This song is so beautiful that I could be a Force Recon Marine ( though I'm more of an Air Force person,) I'm the kind of Marine that makes drill instructors shudder in terror; but as soon as I hear this song again, I'll weap joyfully and temporarily go back to being an infant.
I wish I grew up around that time, of course I enjoy the internet, but I barely use my cell phone, and I still use my brother's walkman at times.. I feel sorta.. deprived, in a way, to live in this time
There was in the original release. In a micro second while Orville was aiming down the buildings in a small frame of the animation there IS a topless lady in a window. It was removed later on in the newer cassette releases as replacements.
This song takes me back to a time when the world was a bit slower...no cell phones, computers, IPADS, Itunes, Facebook. Today is all instant gratification. My parents took me and my brother and sister to this in the theater in 1977. It was our first movie as we were all under age 8. Pure magic. We were taken to the movie as a treat for our good behavior and treasured every moment of this movie. I will never forget Dad chuckling along to the funny parts. Sigh...memories.
@barnj30 I often wish we could go back to the 'speed' of this time. I remember being turned away from the theater because Rescuers had sold out. We all crammed back into my mom's Datsun, completely let down...
I actually named my favorite blanket Medusa. The most underrated Disney villain... :)
What's crazy is I used to watch this at my grandma's house when I was about 2. It was my favorite movie and those opening horns and view of new york ARE my childhood. An indescribable nostalgia perhaps the earliest sense of what I can define this word as. It was my first recognition of something beautiful as far back as I can remember. my first recognition of beautiful music, beautiful scenery...beauty filling what, to me at the time, were only two holes in my face that filled with up with light
I wish disney movies would go back to what they used to be like . when they had great music like this, had backrounds that were painted by artists and had great and original plot lines . though i have to admit the film Tangled is a good film i still prefer the older films that i watched on video tapes when i was little .
@TheEasterbunnyisaspy keep in mind that The Rescuers are pretty unique on the soundtrack part (not many Disney classics have soundtracks that are not song by the characters themselves), but yes, I agree. Movies such as The Rescuers is a forgotten art.

@scrib10 YES!! It is good. As much as I like paper animation, I must say that wasn't really a priority when I watched it. I still want them to go back to paper animation movies but I know they won't. Dammit. :(

The single best Disney song of all time, so why haven't they released the soundtrack to CD yet? Also why doesn't this make it onto one of the million compilations of Disney songs?
I MISS THE DIsney when they had unkown singers to do the music gave it a more real feeling. now we got shit from this new disney and their beiber, miley cyrus teeny tween whatever the hell shit. im 25 and believe me all i watch are these disney movies.
This song really hits home to me, I listened to it for a long time after my mom past when I was 12. She use to sing this to me when i was younger. Hearing it six years after she passed really brings back some sad but nice memories of her. Thanks for the upload!
I have just recently come to know who the fabulous voice is singing these delightful songs! SHELBY FLINT IS THE VOICE AND SHE IS MAGNIFICENT! ONE OF THE GREATEST VOICES OF ALL TIME!!
ooh man, i remember watching this, as a kid, somewhere between 1995-1999 with my dad. i think i even watched it several times during my childhood on a VCR tape :D , along with other healthy minded cartoons ^^ gooood times, good times ^^
I'm just imagining myself listening to this song while flying in a plane. Listening to this incredible song and wathching the landscape down there from my window.
i didn't know when this filkm was released before .It's older than me. I was born in 1997, and watched this movie first in 2000(as far as I remember.my dad had got the cd when I was 2.he probably didn't know much before, as here in India, news takes too much time to reach people.these animated movies are so wonderful!I love watching these, and I watched the cd again yesterday. so heart touching!)
i was like born in 1998 but these songs are amazing, i listen to 60's 70's 80's 90's music im ashamed of miley cyrus, and selena gomez and etc, im always in the 70's,
but i guess people from 2030 will be like i remeber the good old days when there was miley and stuff. but these are the best... my childhood is based on toy story, just my thoughts
One of my all time favorite songs and favorite movies. Such a lovely movie, so funny, and I cried watching it and hearing this song. So many wonderful childhood memories
i totally loved this song when i first heard it and i'm glad i can listen to it again. brings back so much memories. i remember watching this while devouring Cadbury Fruit and Nut chocs. and i used to imagine myself riding that bird....:))
@cherryblossom013579 When I have kids of my own, if they tell me something like "I wanna watch Shrek 8 dad, please!" I will fuckin' ground them and make them watch old disney movies (90s and bellow) until they can recognize what's a good movie.!
@cherryblossom013579 i'm gonna do the exact same thing with my kids, and tell them, "I don't care what they say, kids. These are the real Disney Movies." Lay in their beds at night and watch as many as we can, just like my mom did with me and my sister when we were kids.
@cherryblossom013579 Too right. I have many beautiful animated films, including this one, and I hope someday I'll be able to pass them on to my own or someone else's kids. Nothing today can measure up; it's almost sad to think of the junk that kids today are given to watch.
Wonderful! This reminds me of when I first watched it, and when I watched it I was as captivated to it as I was the first time. What's gone wrong with the world today? They should be making more movies like this, instead loading them with all sorts of junk. Movies like this (w/o the crap) last for a lifetime.
I want the CD soundtrack, but it doesn't exist. :( What the hell is wrong with Disney?

@98684ever This was made in the late 70's. I still like it because it brings back the carefree days for me.

when i have kids of my own, i'm gonna sit on the couch with them, eat m&m's and popcorn and watch classic disney movies like this with them. =)

@animeleader45 Disney still puts out some good movies, though its true that the best ones mostly come from Pixar.

@cherryblossom013579 Too right. I have many beautiful animated films, including this one, and I hope someday I'll be able to pass them on to my own or someone else's kids. Nothing today can measure up; it's almost sad to think of the junk that kids today are given to watch.

This is a very comfortable song to hear, like sitting on a couch. =)
I think Mary Hopkin would make this beautifully as much as Shelby does.

Anyone know where I can find this song? The soundtrack from the original "Rescuers" movie isn't available on Amazon, which is a shame.

@DataLady09: Itunes has it I think it's $1.29 or .99

This movie and The Last Unicorn had some of the best soundtracks back in the day.

Wonderful! This reminds me of when I first watched it, and when I watched it I was as captivated to it as I was the first time. What's gone wrong with the world today? They should be making more movies like this, instead loading them with all sorts of junk. Movies like this (w/o the crap) last for a lifetime.

Hi, does anyone know where I might find the chords for this song? I really like it and I want to ad it to my bands set list.
Any ideas?
