I read a copy of her speech to the House Judiciary Committee when I was in a library at the age of 16 and it gave me chills...6 months later, having read the rest of her speeches, I learned of her death. Watching her funeral was like watching that of a friend. I miss her having not quite known her, and think of her often. She was and is our "moral polestar," the one who should have been our first African American woman President. RIP Barbara.
This woman is one who inspired my life as an afrian american male. She was a great Leader and a great Orator. I miss her but her works lives on in others.
