Nice up to the glowstringers!! woot! I always feel like poi spinners look down on us. I am trying to become a hybrid spinner, mixing poi movements and glowstringing techniques.
What kind of clothing do you recommend for fire wrapping?
Yeah bro, glowstringers are sick, I like to mix poi with glowstringing, check out my St Kilda Night Market video and you'll see what I mean.
Clothing wise, just regular long-sleeve shirts will do fine, so long as they're not made out of synthetic materials like polyester it should be ok, if you're concerned trace a flame over the sleeve or something (not while wearing it), and if it melts, it's probably no good, but if it's fine, you should be good to go...
I wasn't getting some of the reel directions, so I watched up to this tutorial just to see if anything can help. I just noticed a lot of what you teach I start to do on my own right before you do so.
I was doing low reels in isolation because it felt cool to move my elbow weird.
Ya, I do outline a lot of stuff that many take for granted or just assume goes without saying, but it's because I don't want to leave anything out, and while many would already know it, for the few out there who don't, it makes their life easier, I want to make the learning experience as simplified as possible.
Yes, if you watch my fire-twirling videos, like "Twirling to the Cure" or "Rainbow Serpent Festival 2008" you will see me doing more complex wrap combos with fire. If you wear the right clothing you won't get burnt.
I actually had to pause the video cause I was in hysterics after "if you're a girl you don't have to worry about testicles too much" lmao really?
