I don't like them as a couple (I stand still with that this Sherlock is asexual and wont have a relationship at all), but I LOVE how they got "the woman" in the series! Sherlock in the books are talking about "the woman" all the time, the only woman he ever loved/had feelings for.
Don't get me wrong, I simply do adore Irene, she is just so gorgeous and mysterious. But I only stay true and dedicated to Johnlock xD

Goodness, I absolutely love the music...how they weave in the song he was composing when he "thought" Irene was dead...it's so lovely, and quiet here but very lush. <3
I never realized he said "the woman beat me"...he said "beat me" so softly, I can easily miss it...and yes, she did beat him XD I hope they cross paths again in season 3!
@barbaro267 in my mind they just went at it right before this scene. that's why he's smiling :) and she dint beat him, well, she BEAT him, but he managed to get her back, figuring out her code.
When he said "THE woman" I actually felt my heart jump. In just those two words, you could practically hear him saying that she was THE woman for him.
when John and Irene adler talks about their respective relationship with sherlock, John says that he isn't actually gay, irene says that she is instead, and she says also "Look at us both".... and after, she says also "i don't think so, do you?"
@antostelin when she said "I don't think so, do you?" she was stopping John, who was going to run after Sherlock. She meant that Sherlock needed to be left alone to deal with the new found knowledge that she was still alive.
