For peace of mind definitely QM2 but the distinction between an ocean liner and cruise ship have basically blurred. Cunard only keeps up the yearly transatlantic crossing out of tradition. QM2 is also geared towards a much more older audience than OotS. The QM2 will also be around longer as it was built with better materials than the OotS. QM2 is basically in the position the Norway(fmr France) and is tapping into that allure. Norway would be outclassed later in size but her popularity endured.
Oasis is just a bulk transporter for fat Americans who are looking for a cheap holiday. It's CHEAP from 1st to 18th deck! It screams "VULGAR" louder than an American housewife screams "TERRORIST".
QM2 is fine dining, and OOTS is a greasy cheeseburger. I wish Cunard would make another liner like the QM2 to base in Los Angeles with service to Asia.
And the reason why it's the "OOTS" and not "QM2" Because "OOTS" is like 5 times the titanic, and it's bigger than Queen Marry 2.. And it can hold more Passengers.. and it's newer... so ofcourse it's better.

Queen Mary 2 all the way. The last of the old school and built to last. Oasis is just Disneyland on the ocean. Absolutely no class whatsoever. Plus, who cares if the ship is 50 feet longer? Oasis still looses by default for being so disproportionate and bloated.
size doesn't matter it's quality and beauty that counts, sure they may be better than titanic and her sister ships but they were made in the 1900's and they can still compete with many modern ships today
QM2 is an ugly prison cell ship. Oasis of the Seas is a beautiful amazing cruise. But thoughts are thoughts. Queen Mary 2 looks like a plain british design. While Oasis of the Seas is a cool Caribbean design.
I'm a bit bemused by all this as all you really have to do is a bit of internet searching, or know anything vaguely about ships and you will automatically realise, if it was down to speed strength and durability the QM2 has to be top dog, it's entire design is for ocean crossings, any ocean, anywhere, and for that you need the best of everything.
The Oasis on the other hand isn't designed like that and can make itself slower, taller etc, because it will never have to experience that

Queen Mary 2 all the way. The last of the old school and built to last. Oasis is just Disneyland on the ocean. Absolutely no class whatsoever. Plus, who cares if the ship is 50 feet longer? Oasis still looses by default for being so disproportionate and bloated.

Even though Oasis of Sea is larger it's certainly much more crowded....and not designed to cross oceans.

I'm a bit bemused by all this as all you really have to do is a bit of internet searching, or know anything vaguely about ships and you will automatically realise, if it was down to speed strength and durability the QM2 has to be top dog, it's entire design is for ocean crossings, any ocean, anywhere, and for that you need the best of everything.
The Oasis on the other hand isn't designed like that and can make itself slower, taller etc, because it will never have to experience that

Personally I just happened to be in New York when the QM2 did it's maiden voyage, having the QE2 sailing alongside it out towards Staten Island, gave me a lump in my throat, so with that and knowning that it is designed to spend most of it's time in the mid atlantic.... just wow.

hey people your right in your own ways, as a new comer, to this sence. Lets face it White star ships, and the older Cunard ships build about 85 - 90 YEARS AGO.. Where back then the most modern ships of there day, there survered there purpose. I just hope that these new beauties don't have to go through the same fate & or fare better, with modern technogy that is available. @william13pablo Queen Mary 2, because her hull is thicker, her engins are more powerfull, her hull is made to slip elegantly through the water, and he even has a wavebreaker at the bow of the ship on the top deck, which obviously breaks the waves, and if you look carefully QM2 balconies are like indent into the ship, thats because the bridge and everything on the bottom protect the rooms of the ships, Qm2 actually has 3 funnels showing that se is more powerull, and she is an Ocean Liner

@ProudFinn1 Actually you're wrong too, because Oasis wasn't build for relaxation, if it was then apparently its not doing so hot at what it was built for, because its spa rates a 1-3 average based on peoples opinions, at cruise critic, where as the QM2 scores higher than the Oasis at everything that has to do with relaxing, including their Canyon Ranch Spa Club among the most luxurious in the world. QM2 has more space available for passengers than Oasis does, making it more luxurious get it.
