I love Roger Waters but he simply cant sing as good as he used to. He should take singing lessons from Gilmour..... and for the record this song is about the lengendary poetic late Syd Barrett. Rogers is good on lyrics and he should stick to that. Gilmour was and is insane with guitar tunes and awesome voice. Waters didnt write ALL the Pink Floyd songs by the way so dont give soooo much credit.

Waters sounded horrible in this song. I do love his song writing talents, and I'm not taking anything that he's given to the band. But he's old, and it's showing. His singing talent has diminished like hell, and it burns my soul and makes my ears bleed to hear it. I am a fan of Waters, but the one I'm a fan of could SING. This one, I'm just annoyed by.

In part yes as the Album was generally and the song was partly about Barret but I heard an interview on the BBC that indicated that it was partly Waters' dissapointment with the music industry and a reference to his own past, his father was killed in Anzio in WW2.
