you know, i hear people hating on this. All it needs is a few slight changes, a higher speed compability, and something to make it safer that getting clipped out the window, and i would SOOOOO BUY IT!
A solution looking for a problem. I got 5 bicycles I use that are a better solution then this thing. So you say OK what about going out to diner. OK Well I wouldn't want to pull up to any place in a suit driving this. I take the Jag for that.
i love how they show the segway turn but there is no road of a car to take that turn. So are you telling me that they will make bridges for these segways to go over intersections. Please, roads arent wide enough as it is...who knows how many more cars will be on the road in 20 years when this might actually be a reality.
so are they gonna rebuild entire cities to make lanes for these things? we've been trying that with bikes in canada for years now, and it still hasn't worked out very well
Save yourself some money and buy an electric wheelchair.
Only about 5% of the population wants faggy little vehicles like this. The rest want cheaper gasoline or a legitimate replacement. GM and the U.S. government are out of money and broke because of this silly shit. Drill oil, eat caribou and quit global whining. The earth is fine you damn hippies.
i agree, veprii. what do they really hope to accomplish from this project? if this paves the way for some "smartTM car"-esque electric vehicle which could actually hold something other than a single person, then there's potential. but as it stands, it's gm and segway in a circle-jerk together.
but don't poke fun at my hippie bretheren! yes, some of them are idealistic retards (ie "the world would be better if ... "), but most i meet still have a grasp on reality
Beautiful! A compact design that's not stoopid. I wonder when it will really get to this point and how much it will cost. But over all, I think this shows GM might actually get it - we need new ideas!
it may be that a vehicle like this will be one of the first mainstream vehicles which will be equiped with remote control an AI control, as a robot chaufered or unmanned vehicle or for backup remote control in emergency situations.
so instead of replacing cars, the invention replaces the need for walking? How could this result in anything else but a hrrific future?

cool, driving into the movie theatre and not needing a seat.

what do you do if you got kids...
looks like they can lean out of the side far enough to get clipped by a passing vehicle
considering you can only carry one at a time
i guess you should be able to keep an eye on that sort of thing....lol
i unno, risky car
lots of flaws in my opinion,
but i dont know how far along this project is

100 years. Or three generations these might achieve mainstream.

I don't think it will manage in the winter snow
wchll6 2 years ago
how about snow chains for the wheels, and littl ski.s place place up fron and in rear for transport over snow?
upcycle 2 years ago
I think it would do fine. only 2 wheels that puts a good amount of traction on the vehicle.

I saw segways running on snow, at the bottom of a ski slope.

yeah. sure. there will be extra lanes for those thingies.
btw, the design seems pretty cool, they ruined it with the experimental type.
