hi, can i ask what strings you use on your uke? im considering buying one of these as my first ukulele, but im unsure on whether to go for soprano or concert, so any advice would be good (: thanks
I've been playing a Hibiscus soprano with a plastic fretboard for 5 years, and I love it dearly, but I finally decided to upgrade. I just ordered a natural-color concert with a rosewood fretboard & walnut neck, and a built-in pickup for when I play gigs. I can't wait!
Also the Aquila strings are a great choice. Their sound matches perfectly with the Flea.
I love that ukulele tiki flea but I can't find it in greece :(

nice review JT. While I the Flukes and the Fleas are not my "cuppa tea", I can see why they are so popular, they play really well.
I am, however, really interested in your podcasts. Can't wait to check them out. Thanks.

I believe the neck is Walnut, not Maple.

You are correct! I didn't know this when i first received my flea. I hadn't ordered it with the Walnut, but I must say, I like it!
I have just recently upgraded it to the Rosewood fretboard and Aquilia strings as well.
Plays Great!

ive had the tiki concert flea for a couple of months now, so much fun!
And playing the uke is relatively easy to pick up when youve been a string player for years :p
Ive just ordered aquila strings with a low G (i didnt know until yesterday you could get low G on a concert uke :D )
If i have time i might do a little video review of how that sounds

Great! Please do, I've been wondering how a low G would sound on a Flea. But as it's my only Uke at the moment, I'm keeping it high G.
Let me know how it sounds.
