I know what you mean man the welfare system is really heavily abused right now (and I'm totally against Obamacare myself). But there are some cases where I do feel it is necessary. There have been times when I have been homeless and broke and have had to apply for some of these programs, but not by my choice, you know what I mean? Not to mention I waited until the last minute due to embarassment. These kinds of programs are meant to be temporary assistance for those of us who really need it.

A lot of people would starve while trying to find buyers for their outdated useless junk. Its better to let people keep their belongings. I dont think children should be on the bring of death before they get some better food. I think that if you had your way, a lot of people would fall between the cracks and die or be malnourished and be marginalized because of disabled parents.

I am a little skeptical of your numbers. I think that if you are earning more than the median income in your area you wouldnt really qualify for welfare....very skeptical. Also, you can only get that for a maximum of 5 years, so I think maybe you are not being entirely honest.

My father did maintenance in an apartment complex that had a section for Tax payer subsidized units. In many of the parking spots in front of these units were Cadillac Escalades. In every unit the residents have 40+ inch HD LCD televisions, new shiny refrigerator, dish washer, laundry machine/dryer, closets full of clothes and shoes(more than I can afford). All of this was payed for with tax dollars. Keeping the poor alive so they can get back on their feet is a good thing but not this.

I have also seen many inner city people driving Mercedes 500's around after buying organic food with the Texas SNAP (food stamp) card. In fact, I am good friends with a manager at a local organic store and he says it happens all the time. He sees food stamp users driving Cadillacs, expensive SUV's, etc.

I would love to give any poor person rice, beans, wheat, corn, but strictly out of charity and the goodness of my heart. Not forced at gunpoint by the govt. to do it.

My state does not pay me money either.

If I spend $1000 a month on food for my familly, and qualify for food stamps and get on food stamps, I no longer need to spend $1000 for food. That would leave me with $1000 extra a month that I didn't have otherwise. That's what I'd buy the boat with.

Charity will cover everyone, even the bottom 1%. If we weren't taxed to death, everyone we be much more charitable, which means that government entitlements take away part of our humanity, our ability give. Instead of Charity we have mandates, instead of gratitutde we have entitlements. The problem with covering the people that "really need it" is the line is never clear and always ends up with more people crossing over to the "really need it" side. So NO Entitlements for ANYONE EVER!

The bottom line is that the government is incentivizing a lot of people not to work. The best charity is done by individuals and communities. It is not the job or place of government to steel from my pocket in order to help both those who need help and those who do not, without making much in the way of a distinction. I know people who are in real need of assistance, but the vast majority of people who take advantage of it don't need anything but discipine and a little character. Good Vid!
