  • Bowe should have been the greatest HW ever, just very lazy and undisciplined.

I saw him in person (in court actually) between the 2nd and 3rd Holyfield fights and he must have weighed 280 lbs.

  • For anyone referencing anything that happened between Bowe and Morrison as amateurs, remember that Henry Tillman beat Mike Tyson twice as amateurs. How'd that combination work out in the pros? Just curious. I always forget.

  • he ones said that the best puncher in heavy w. was bone crusher Smith and he had spar with mike Tyson and here fighting bowe ..

  • rodolfo marin was working security on a mall here in P.R. cool dude

  • Nice right by Bowe!!!

  • the Bowe-Marin fight was part of the undercard of Tyson-Ruddock II, Marin had only lost to Tyrell Biggs prior to this fight.

  • bowe is very under-rated. Boxing needs to give this guy more credits. He's only 40-1-1

  • He maybe was the greatest talent of his age. Problem was he didn't like to train, he ate to much and he went tow 2 tow with a guy he could have out jabbed from long rang, Evander Hollyfield. Holy knocked Bows brain into pulp and Bow was never the same after that.

  • I think most people see that 40-1-1 as as 38-3-1. Golota beat him soundly in the 1st fight and the 2nd fight was a massacre. If he wasn't perhaps the dumbest/dirtiest fighter of our era he he wins both of those fights. Bowe was totally gassed both times and there was no chance for him to win. Not only that, but the fact that he never fought Lewis. Throwing his belt in the garbage for Lennox to pick up was widely seen by many as fear. He's not an alltime great IMHO.

  • u mean the washd up bowe who prime golota coud not even ko? and got his first knock down from this washd up guy

  • @strontvinger2001

Washed up Bowe? He was 29, and I don't believe that the Holyfield Trilogy made him "washed up". If anything it was Evander who took the severe punishment in those fights - and look what he did afterward (beat Tyson twice, and held championship belts for 3 more years) Everyone knows that Bowe didn't like to train, and had weight problems. That's what made him look "washed up". He could have been one of the greats, but his lack of discipline was his downfall.

  • bowe is fighting like larry holmes in this fight .

  • bwe trained by eddie futch- the only modern times one to be..gotta be relevant yes ?

  • i always had a soft spot for bowe....but it was over when he built a kitchen inside the master bedroom..

  • lol did he seriously???when did he build a kitchen in his bed room?

  • Who is Rodolfo Marin, never heard this guy, in most time of fuking Bowe's career he fought such guys.lol

  • Bowe, Mercer, or Witherspoon would have demolished Tyson.

  • the post-spinks fight Tyson? Yes, Bowe would have demolished him. Mercer/Witherspoon would have had a better than 50 percent chance.

  • tyson retired from serious training and fighting after the spinks fight. The best tyson beats everyone of the 80's and 90's .only ali and foreman had a chance. The damato trained tyson was too fast ,too strong, too many combinations, too much head and upper body movement. After 1988 he gt in that car accident and it fucked up his back and didnt have that great body movement anymore also he became a head hunter and fought to clinch.

  • foreman beats tuson so tyson can not be the greatest ever

  • I never said he was the greatest.

  • totally agree= at last somebody not up tyson ass. tyson very very lucky to miss all three..or was that don king he should have been thankful too ?!?

  • Mercer did duck Bowe, he was supposed to fight him but he dropped out. Bowe fought Bruce Seldon instead.

  • Really? This is news to me. Weren't They supposed to fight but Mercer lost a decision to trialhorse Jesse Ferguson?

  • riddick bowe was quality, he only lost once and that was a very close fight with holyfield

  • Damn, Bowe looks so neat and well-conditioned here! A far cry from the '96 Bowe.

  • bowe had a lot of talent he was just lazy but when motivated he was a beast

  • He ate too much, that's what did him in. Just like Buster Douglas.

  • @noirnoticvibe Yes he was and it was sad to see him take so much punishment against Golota. His corner should have stopped the second fight. Rock Neuman didn't care about Bowe, all he cared about was the money, the second Golota fight proved that. Bowe won the battle, but lost the war. My god he took a savage beating against Golota in the second fight. Add in all the fowling by Golota. After the second fight, Golota should have been suspended for such blatant fouling.

  • More like Mercer avoided Bowe.

  • LOL @Mercer avoid Bowe! Get real.

  • You shut up! Bowe is fake,I have heard tha Bowe also avoid Ray.Mercer!

  • Dont worry, you say anything good about a white boxer and something bad about a black boxer you are automatically racist....go figure and to the guy below love your spelling, you must still be in the 2nd grade.

  • Hi,man. I am not saying bad about black boxers. I am only pointing bastard Riddick Bowe!Other great black boxers such as Lennox Lewis, Roy Jones JR etc, I have never say bad about them, I am Lennox's fun.

  • No , I was agreeing with you lol, I know you are not racist.... I was talking about azzadagreek.

  • ur a rasist fuk

  • Well done, Andrew, I admire what you did on bastard Bowe in 1996, you should have kicked Bowe's nut instead of beating; and well done also Lennox, you have made bastard Bowe avoid you just like a pig avoiding a hungary lion. I believe if the two have met in profession, Lennox would have demolished Bowe in 7-8 rounds in 1992-1993, if it happened in 1995 0r 1996, Lennox could have killed chicken Bowe only with 1-2 rounds! Ha, ha, ha, fucking Riddick Bowe, go to hell as quick as you can!

  • Bowe ? Fat, Lazy and now ? A bumbling , fumbling mess :-(

  • Bowe would kill Tommy in a real fight. Tommmy had no chin at all. Eddie Futch didn't even work with Bowe during the Olympics Lou Duva did so your lying. Bowe hit harder and faster than Ray Mercer

  • I like both fighters alot but I think Tommy was too powerful for Bowe, and everbody basing Morrisons career on 1 fight with Mercer need to look past that. Any fighter the expells that many power shots is vonurable but I dont think that means he had no chin. If Bowe took the shots Morrison gave Mercer during those 3 rounds no way would Bowe survive.

  • It might have been after the olympics or maybe somebody had the trainers name wrong but they did sparr together and Bowe did quit.

  • Young Morrison would've kill this version of Riddick. Morrison did sparr with bowe in 1988 for the olympic sparring. They were suppost to go 3 rounds, and they end up going 2 because Morrison was beating the hell out of bowe with the left hook. Eddie Futch was on Bowes ass that night

  • I also heard about that sparring session with Bowe quitting. Ive also read how Bowes camp made an effort to avoid Morrison.

  • Still morrison got killed by mercer

  • Nothing to be ashamed of there, very impressive rounds from Morrison against a top class fighter who really won against Lewis even close with Holyfield something even Tyson couldnt do. When your to tight and anxious it really fucks you up, could happen to anybody but what really fucks me up is Tony Perez the ref in that fight, check his record you'll see what I mean. Mercer still says nobody in boxing hits harder than Tommy Morrison. I think both Mercer and Morrison are underrated.

  • Morrison didn't win against Lewis, not even close. He lost fair and square.
