  • i hope it sounds better in real like than it does in this video, because it sounds like you're playing through paper speakers.

  • sounds shitty

  • Don't use videos like this to judge the tone of the Axe-Fx. The thing with the unit is that you have to know how to use it to get incredible tone. When I first got mine, I thought that it was a shit SS sounding thing until I read the manual and spent some time with it. Trust me, when set up and recorded properly it sounds AS GOOD as most of the amp / cab rigs it replicates - with a whole lot less hassle as you can record direct and/or rehearse at low volumes with killer tone.

  • Sounds like jazz..

  • Axe Fx sounds solid-state for high-gain

  • I seriously LOVE those chords man! Please tell me! I can't wait until I get my own Axe-Fx, but that's a serious investment. Axe-Fx is2000, VHT poweramp is 1600, Fractal's pedal board is 750!

  • Nice Chords! What are you playing?

  • why anyone would run an axe fx into the mark IV's power stage is beyond me...I totally prefer the sound of just the mark IV to this, big time...to each his own i guess

  • because we could and we did. Thats my buddies fractal into my mark iv. I wouldn't knock the fractal, they sound amazing.

  • meh, they sound ok in my opinion..your playing isn't the reason these videos are rated low so other people must agree with me...

  • @Scoredon88 Wow, such a cuntish comment from a 21 year old. You obviously have no idea how many people are using the Axe FX in todays world. To say they sound ok is obvious that your someone who hasn't played one.

I don't agree with you at all as your still young and have a lot to learn. But if you have such amazing tone, let hear it!!!

  • i have videos up..feel free to look..they were all taken (save one of my band jamming) last june..1 month after I had my mark IV..the ratings and comments speak for themselves...I do know how many people are using the axe fx, does that mean I have to dig them? jesus whats wrong you with you people...this 21 year old seems to be the only one who can grasp the fact, that not every digs the same thing. I don't like his tone in this video, GET OVER IT!

  • @Scoredon88 Or it could simply be the fact that it wasn't a DI or mic'd recording. Youtube and all of its audio-compressing glory isn't the best place to judge the Axe-fx.

  • I will agree that this video doesn't have great tone but....I own 10 spaces of racked mark 4, effects and pedals and I'm looking at the axe fx because my rig weighs a shit load and the direct recording out bypasses the graphic eq. I never cared about volume until moving into an apartment downtown here in Portland and now this piece is worth JP's time (Marty Friedman, Greg Howe, Paul Gilbert) and mine too. (No DT cover band here)

  • This isn't a great showing of the axe Fx but I HAVE SEEN TONS OF FUCKING SHIT MARK 4 VIDEOS and you MUST KNOW THAT ANY PIECE OF COMPLICATED GEAR NEEDS A PERFECT CHAIN. Try running your Mark 4 into a blackface fender cab and make it rock and then talk shit about other people's gear tests....Just a bad day sorry...and I don't even know you or this guy.

  • Dude!!! That is a blatant bulb ripoff stuff. Sounds good :)

  • Some sick "off-chords". Improve audio capture with direct to digital means...
