  • Even as a kid with poor eye sight, I have questioned the only animated lightly colored thingies. I always thought it was simply dark magic.

  • i love how its just the subway

  • Seriously, this kicks ass.

  • Wonder what he's doing nowadays.

  • guys you need to come back man. i loved your skits.

  • tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ConspicuouslyLightPatch

  • yeah everytime i watch a toon that has a dim detailed background but one thing is offly tinted i know it will be used in the occuring scene

  • So this is what the crator of RPG World is doing nowadays. You make cartoons. Instead for giving your fans (comic fans, jerk) a good ending.

  • @ZoanBlade90 I agree with you. We deserve an ending.

  • Man, Egoraptor just favorited one of your videos, that could be your big break. You guys need to bring this back!

  • wait this was made on my birth day...holy shit

  • omg this is how i know wat happens on a cartoon next

  • Fyi

In cartoons they often use multiple animation cels, as in one page for the background, character, object, etc. Regardless of how well an animator tries to color a moving object the color distortion of the cels makes it really difficult/time-consuming to properly blend in.

  • comeback D:> i miss you i cant go on without you

  • It's been a year guys. Please come back, we miss you.

  • yeah, I love that XD animated stuff with shading is for losers

  • It's almost been a year :'(

  • Give this comment a thumbs up if you also found this video through tvtropes.org

  • LOL...this is awesome!

  • hahaha, soooo true!

  • Just tried to go to the official nockFORCE website and it's not there! Please tell me you guys aren't going away!

  • @neocrimsoncloud he's working on Adventure Time now

  • .........your animation's are not funny in anyway please go back to what you was good at and finish rpg world seriously 5 years without an ending? wtf!

  • @killerk92006 he does more stuff than just nockFORCE he;s an animator so that eats up most of his time.

  • i love nockforce its sad they havent made anything new in awhile.

  • @tmntyoshi it said on Ian's blog that nockFORCE is sadly done with, and that he;s moving on to another project

  • LOL 0:18 Hes face XD

  • OMG I use to HATE that in cartoons, when the characters are like "Where's a loose floor board?" and it's obviously the one that is NOT a BG painting. Great observation

  • @SagooBoy yea i remember this in scooby doo lol

  • Inspired by Demon's Souls?

  • lol so hard at 0:18

Man these are all awesome videos.MOAR

  • yeah i totally didn't see it coming....

  • whut the hell? why did you guys stop making vids? I DEMAND MOAR

  • lol, Fuckforce only says one thing this whole vid.

  • pause at 0:18

  • hahahaha I always wanted to point that out !! XD funny!!

  • LOL :D This is why I love cartoons

  • I like this one a lot. it is a personal reason why.

  • you guys rock asses and ass rocks...js

  • Lol i notice that in every cartoon to all the action props are ll lightly tinted

  • damn, i was thinking to use the same gag to make fun of old Disney movies that did the same thing. way to be the first.

  • INORITE!!?

  • ahaha

  • HAHAHAHA I've been waiting for this to come up in a nockFORCE video for quite some time now. This is GREAT!!!

  • why do you guys not like

    make videos everyday

i will ignore the fact that is clearly impossible

  • For those curious, my understanding of it was this:

Older cartoons were animated on acetate cels. Now, say you have a cabinet with drawers. Even if the drawers have the same paint color as the cabinet, the properties of the acetate as well as being covered by additional acetate would alter the color so that it didn't match anymore. So I guess if you wanted the colors to more closely match, you would have to purposely mix the drawer color darker so that it would come close to matching.

  • Oops, meant to say "say you have a cabinet with drawers that would be animated."

  • OMG!!

    ROFL XD

    5 Stars

  • Ahhh. Classic guys. I've seen this so many times it's unreal.

  • Huh. Wonder if they were aware of the Blue Seed 9 Omake on this very subject before they did this?

  • Ah, yes, the volatility of coloured cells vs. background colours. Why no consistency?!

Of course you had to step on it. There's no point of it being there otherwise. :O

  • Because backgrounds used to be painted. :)

  • god I love the monotone drone of these videos, nockforce is awesome.

  • best scream ever

  • Okay, having not grown up with cartoons, I think I'm missing something here. Can anyone link me to an example of what this is parodying?

  • Scooby doo is a good example :P

  • JUST ABOUT TO SAY THAT :D

  • Comment removed

  • every cartoon not in cg

  • LOL! I love how true this is! =D

The detail is so high on the BG's execpt for the part of it that's animated xD

  • OOOOOH MY GOD.

I thought I was the only one who noticed this kind of thing. I hate to say, but this now easily ranks as my favorite video of yours.

  • :27 alone is amazing. And thank you for recognizing this.

  • lol. thats how it is in scooby doo and spongebob

  • I always thought that as a kid too. How you'd always know what rocks were going to fall, or where the pit was, or what section of wall had a secret panel in it.

  • I love Effnocka's look at 0:24 LOL

  • I'd like to see someone animate "Red herring" background objects, to throw off the viewer.

  • AHHHHHHHHH.

  • I spread the word as much as I can about you guys... only getting better...

  • Love how Ian gets harpooned and keeps on talking!

    Very true point, though.

  • It's too bad cartoons have learnt to use aftereffects in the last few years, totally ruins this.

  • Yeah, it's like whenever someone goes to get a book off a shelf of hundreds of other books, you can always see which one they're about to grab.

  • Totally true.

  • eh that tile deserved to get its stompin time

  • You can always stuff like that in cartoons

  • that is so true!

  • Ah, for a long time I've been wanting someone to crack the 'this bit isn't rendered so don't step on it' joke, and you guys pulled it off wonderfully.

  • we're gonna need harpoon removal

  • I got impaled with a harpoon once through the chest. It hurts! Yay!

  • Nothing can kill Ian Jones!

  • It's like Labyrinth, but if it were awesome.
