  • biggest mistake the steelers ever made was not drafting Dan Marino....the guy played in their own back yard and still didn't get the clue...this team in the late 80's to late 90's would of been in 5 super bowls and won 3-5 of them...

  • Kevin Greene is a wild man, one of the best to ever play the game period. And this is coming from a lifelong Raiders fan. Greene should be in the HOF for sure.

  • O donnell sucked ass its ironic that after superbowl xxx no one ever heard of Neil again

    Go steelers

  • not a steelers fan but i remember watching these steelers. great teams. cowher needs to return to the league

  • lol @ 1:34. Jeff Blake was so lazy on that play. That Bengals team was horrible. Didn't even try to recover his own fumble lol.

  • @Juniversal Blake was a pretty good QB too a one point. Unfortunately, he had the misfortune dealing with those awful Bengal teams.

  • @DannySportsTalk...I agree.

  • this group would be fined in today's league sadly but this group should be higher on the list they where beast.

  • levon kirkland is moving to my neighborhood!

  • I hate the steelers really bad. but these guys might be the most complete linebacker corp. they had the greatest pass rushing LB in kevin greene along with a pro bowler in lloyd and the guys in the middle made tackles.

  • Thanks to O`Donnell at QB these guys didn`t win the Super Bowl in 95.

  • Lloyd was a beast

  • Kirkland was an absolute beast.

  • i HATE the steelers, im a ravens fan, but THIS linebacker crew to me is probably the greatest....i remember these guys all being superstars

  • @deewhyelayin the greatest of their time*

  • i can see the steelers current linebackers being in the top 10

  • @UserName0043 the current line...James harrison is the only player who could play with this team or the steel curtain !

  • anyone know what song that was between 2:10- 2:35

  • what year did jason gildon come in?

  • @iPriestHolmes He came to the Steelers in '94

  • Damn i miss this crew loved this time in football

  • kirkland wasnt much smaller than casey hampton

  • epic flow @ 2:20

  • Greg Lloyd90s=James Harrison late 2000s

  • Greg Lloyd is the epitome of a badass.

  • I coach high school football in South Carolina. Levon Kirkland is our defensive coordinator. His stories about Loydd are insane. Kirkland is a freakin monster. I was literally scared to talk to him the first time I met him and I'm not a small guy to say the least. When it gets super hot out during practice, I literally stay cool by standing in his shadow...

  • "When you go out on the field and you're intense for 60 minutes, some guys don't want to do it. When I line up across from him, he has to do one of two things, he has to raise his level of play, or he's going to get his ass kicked all day"

    - Greg Lloyd

  • If Greg Lloyd didnt have those knee issues, he could have been one of the greats.

    Giants fan.

  • YAWN

  • fuck you neil o'donnell

  • "Walk your ass out here and get fuckin' embarassed."

  • Damn, Kirkland was a monster, completely went berserk on ballcarriers. He's my favorite of the trio, and favorite MLB of all time.

It would be Greg, but I'm not a fan of people who shove guns down 12-year-olds throats because they got a bad grade.

  • @Shutesumfools Dude, get off your high horse. As for Kirkland, look... I was a fan too. But anyone who thinks he was the best of the Steeler LBs of that era (All Decade Team, etc.)--didn't watch Steeler football of that era. Greg Lloyd set the tone of that defense, and he led by word and deed. If I had to name ONE player that made that defense great, it was 95 (not Woodson, not Lake, not Kirkland).

  • The 70's steelers had the better drfense, but linebacking corp? I'm not sure......

  • thank you Larry brown for picking off the lombardi trophy.

  • @Dallascowboy321

    No, thank Niel O'Donnell.

  • Neil O'Donnell screwed these guys out of a Super Bowl ring.

  • this video makes it seem like greg llyod was better then kevin greene

  • @linebackerman52 greg lloyd was a better all-around linebacker, greene was just a pass rush specialist. lloyd played the run better, and was great in coverage.

  • @linebackerman52 Actually he was, rushed the passer better, played the run and the pass way, way better. Greene was one dimensional and did benefit from them having to double Lloyd. The Steelers thought so as well when they did not choose to re-sign KG after his 3 year contract. They did re-sign Lloyd but he got hurt real early in that contract and was out of NFL not long after. KG was also famous for disappearing in big games with Steelers.1994 AFC Champ VS Chargers: 0 tackles 0 assists 0 sacks

  • man...they definitely should have been higher than 7....shoulldve been 3 or 4...sorry man I know the 70s steelers get a lot of attention..but you gotta remember thaey had the steel curtain of mean joe green and those other three lineman that was monsters.....so they had space to play...the pass rush mainly came from the down 4...with loyds crew...they were the pass rush and pluggers...basically what a 3 4 supposed to do....

  • I think I know why Lloyd isn't a HOF candidate. First, his dominance was only for so long, and he also was abusive. His son, Greg Lloyd II, states that his father stuck a gun down his throat when he was 12

  • The 90s steelers linbackers just as good as jim mora's saints if not a close 2nd think of it lloyd = swilling, greene = jackson, brown = mills, and kirkland = johnson can't get much closer than that!!

  • lloyd was beat

  • greg lloyd only had double digit sacks once.

  • Thats when you could hit. now its like flag football.

  • dam amen to that no its bitchball unlike back then when it WAS football

  • Levon Kirkland dropping into coverage. God I love the Steelers.

  • @doowoppingchainsawer I went to highschool with "THE GREAT ONE", is an amazing person. Very humble and all around nice guy. We love you Vonny!!!! Lamar high school #44 legend.

  • It's a shame that this mid-90's Steelers team won't be remembered like the 70's or the modern Steelers. Those guys were amazing and so fun to watch.

  • Kirkland is a BEAST

  • Comment removed

  • A shame that Greg Lloyd doesnt get mentioned for the HOF but they put Rickey Jackson in already

  • real shit da best

  • "I don't fucking feel sorry for you! Line up and play football!"

Well said, Gregg. And I loved that about Lloyd. The fact that he had that traditional hard-nosed, Pittsburgh attitude of just getting the job done without any bullshit. With Greg Lloyd and Kevin Greene on the field, the Steelers were a force not to be reckoned with. Greg was sure a great successor to Jack Lambert, which is why he is my favorite player of the 90s.

  • fuck neil oddonnel

  • ima die hard Cowboys fan...lloyd is my favorite linebacker ever...the only player to humble and bully gregg lloyd his entire career was larry allen in the super bowl...it started from the 1st play from scrimmage when allen pulled left and went one on one with lloyd...lloyd got pancaked and landed on the back of his head...that set the tone for the game...HOWBOUTDEMCOWBOYS...!!!

  • @thetruthis9

    I fucked with Texas

  • Lloyd & Greene is beasts.

But that middle linebacker is like 300 pounds chasing down wide receivers.

I love to have a MLB like him.

  • @bjacobsdabest123 Levon Kirkland could ball make no mistake about it

  • @chuckieboy1988

    Word Up.

  • lloyd is a bad MF

  • what dat name of dat song from 2:10-2:31? plz anyone

  • Levon Kirkland was unique & was a real good athlete for a big man. He was so big but was able to run with tight ends & backs, drop off in zones,& make plays down field. He was physical, athletic, could stuff blockers, shove them aside & make plays at the line. He could drop off in coverage & react to the ball. He was surprisingly quick, light on his feet, always on the field, an explosive blitzer who could really rip it up inside that A-gap. He was a powerful man who was a load between the tackles

  • Kirkland could step up & take on a big lineman & shed him, spell the lead back, run through, & scrape down the line. He was a big hitter & an intimidating run-stopper extraordinaire who controlled the middle of the field. An anchor,he would take on big guards & stop them in their tracks & get off & make the play. He was a force with excellent quickness & range for his size,& could make plays outside. He would come out & catch a guy on a screen. Above all, he was a thumper who would blow you up

  • LLoyd was most active & a dynamic big-play machine. He was quick & aware, ran down many plays,& was a steady pass rusher with twist move, picked off passes & caused fumbles who played with an attitude. Lloyd moved easily in space & often schemed free on stunts & games & showed excellent acceleration to the QB. He was a great competitor, explosive, intense, & had good use of hands. He would use his speed & quickness to evade blocks,& would take chances to make big plays. His deal was blitz & chase.

  • Greene was a warrior, strong point-of-attack & pursuit player with great intangibles who loved to play. He brought lots of energy to pass rush & would come inside, outside or over top. He was at best when on line with hand on ground. Strong & active with his hands,he was adept at shedding blockers&working to the QB. He had up field quickness to beat blockers to the edge. He was NOT 1-dimensional. He WAS smart, strong, intense, difficult to block & rarely off his feet. He moved well in traffic.

  • He coaches linebackers at our school

  • One other thing Free Agency is stopping Teams from keeping their LB CORP together for a long time.

  • got 6? WE DO!!!

  • We Steelers fans remember the Vikings blowning Dallas out 34-3 today in the playoffs. lol

  • We Cowboys fans remember you not even making it as a wildcard spot in the playoffs. lol

  • @xslash86 u also dont remember we have 6 Super Bowls and the Cowgirls stuck on 5. Plus my Steelers wouldnt want to go to the playoffs to get blown out 34-3 that was a good ole "butt kicking".!!!

  • @snoopydog48us Oh shit, that reminds me one of those 5 superbowls was us beating you 27-17.And dont bring up when you beat us that was won by a shitty reciever of ours dropping the ball in the endzone.Larry brown is a pretty good corner huh?And one of those 5 superbowls was against the seahawks and so many bad calls and cheap plays. And your telling me the steelers have NEVER EVER been whooped as bad as 34-3?

  • @xslash86 not in the playoffs hahahahhhaha

  • @snoopydog48us remember 2 of those Super Bowls was against the Cowgirls, and we won. I remember Cowboys Fans raggins Steelers fans because yall had 5 Super Bowls and we had 4. Remember thats "70's" show, yall hitting us with that, funny how the tables turn. We loving 6, and yall love getting "blown out " in playoffs games. TEXAS TOAST" should be Dallas new name instead of Ameica's Team. I know that butt kicking still hurt fella.

  • @snoopydog48us Larry Brown proved he was a "Fraud" what he do after that game? NOTHING, just like ROMO, NOTHING

  • @snoopydog48us Yeah your right.I mean to get beat badly in the playoffs you do have to MAKE IT there first right? And one more thing that name americas team will always stay in dallas, its never been THOUGHT of going to pittsburgh.Oh and you make fun of romo?Well if your were a real steelers fan you'd know this,Adleast my QB aint no fuckin rapist.

  • @xslash86 dude u aint got NOTHING for me just like that TEXAS TOAST Team, so just move along, and enjoy that BUTT KICKING the Vikes laid on yall yesterday, while I go back to watching Super Bowl 43 on my DVD all week until next weekend games. PS BTW tell that LB Brookins to stop crying like a whinning baby, this is PRO FOOTBALL live with it. that "BEATDOWN".

  • @snoopydog48us Keep talking that trash,I mean adleast you can name our MLB the only people normal people could name on your team is polamalu and santana holmes who needs to get his old ass off that field.I also noticed you didnt say one thing about your QB being a rapist? And a nromal cowboy hater could still name the WHOLE team just like you.And no matter how bad we get beat we still always are the center of attention, the media loves us,hottest team around, and americas team. And you know it.

  • @xslash86 6 Super Bowls says I can talk all the TRASH I want too fella. See, you back a Cryboys fan into a corner, then they bring up other things than football. You want to go there Cryboys fan, Hollywood Henderson, Micheal Irvin, and Nare Newton, were the BIGGEST DOPE HEADS IN FOOTBALL. How much time did ole Nate get in the Slammer? U just like that sorry ass team of yours, u need to just crawl under a ROCK where you come from, and go HIDE for a year after that ASS WHOPPING sunday.

  • @xslash86 This is a STEELERS VIV, now SHOOT, Fly away!! WE STEELERS FANS DONT WANT TO HEAR FROM YA!!

  • @snoopydog48us Is that give up i hear?

  • @snoopydog48us Also when anyone fuckin thinks of Pennsylvania sports the first thing that comes to there mind is "Shit".You got the phillys...hated...Eagles...hated...steelers...LOL HATED.

  • I sense a lil jealousy there fella hahahaa Let me see 2008 alone Steelers Super Bowl Champs, Penquins Stanley Cup Champs, Phillies World Series Champs. If I was you, yeah I be jealous also. Those Mavs, Stars, and Cowboys, no, not doing it for ya. Longhorns hmm thats right lost the National Championship. You think we here in Pa gives a "Rat ass" what you think, and the rest of the country think? Jealousy will get you no where fella. smiles, No one wants too hear you on a Steelers Vids.

  • Move to another State you might have BETTER LUCK!!

  • Since you like to keep running your mouth on a Steelers vids, i'm gonna pretend im a Vikings fan hahahaha, and when you mouth off, because you like to have the last word, all im gonna say is 34-3 got it? I think you can read NUMBERS

  • @snoopydog48us Alright listen son you seem like you know your football, but if you stoop down to that level instead of using football knowledge than i think i won this fight

  • @xslash86 34-3

  • @xslash86 keep it up

  • If they ever update this list when it's all said&done do you think the Farrior, Porter, Foote&Haggans or the Farrior, Timmons, Harrison&Woodley will join this list?

  • Maybe Farrior, Foote Haggins, Porter. They won a Super Bowl and were on a 15-1 team. Farrior, Timmons, Harrison, and Woodley has a chance to be better, and on the list, but they arent done yet, Timmons and Woodley are still soo young, and Farrior is slowing down some. Harrison is a beast, we'll see.

  • I was wondering if you steeler fans remember the Dallas Cowboys superbowl and Neil O Donnell as qb lol

  • Rarely is a Steeler underrated, but Lloyd should be a HOFer, Kirkland was an animal, and Bryan Hinkle was one of the most underrated players for several years.

  • Lambert - "That will cool your ass off!" lol

Lloyd was a monster as well! Him and Greene were the perfect combo

  • Lambert could say that when he had the front four. Lloyd said it on his own. He could take on an entire offense.

  • Too bad Chad Brown had to leave. He probably would have had a shot at the HOF if he would have stayed since he was lights out when he moved to the outside.

  • man, chad brown didn't get any love in this one. lol.

  • Levon Kirkland is my linebacker coach now. at Wade Hampton High

  • Levon Kirkland....A run stuffer that covers Tight Ends with the greatest of ease. A Steelers Classic!

  • Levon Kirkland Is the badest man to ecr play mlb. The people's backer!

  • I still say one of Mike Holgrems most retarded moves as GM for the Seahawks was letting him go. No one ran up the middle on the Hawks when him, Tez, & Sam Adams were there.
